It is time for change and for prioritizing my health. The goal is to make the person I see in mirror match the person I feel like inside. This week has been particularly challenging, Monday I was caring for my father-in-law as he passed from life to death (he lived a long, full and purposeful life). I am struggling to not eat my feelings and instead express them in a constructive and healthy way. Let's do this!8 -

Hello All,
Sorry for the late post. The weekend was full and tiring. I'm glad the weight went down, even if just a little bit. I'm looking forward to starting some new yoga and zumba classes this week. I've been doing better about getting my yoga, meditation and journaling done. I need to keep working on logging food and maintaining a calorie deficit.
Keep up the good work, everyone! Here's to a good February.
Peace.

Good Morning Team WNM!. I had a nice January with a loss of 7.1 lbs. At 5 foot tall that is a lot of weight. I am a person who has had her weight yo yo for her entire adult life. I have thoughts about food that are disfunctional in my life. I have been putting a lot of practice into changing my thoughts. People say it can be done so I continue to practice. I am going to loose weight. My ultimate goal is to be in a weight range of 140-145. That means I need to loose 20lbs to get me to the top end of my goal. I am 55 years old, married with 4 adult children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. My husband is as supportive as he can be but he cannot wrap his head around why I don't "JUST" stop eating when I am full. I have used food for pain medication for years. I have a chronic pain condition that does not respond to medication. I have lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and arthritus. And that is me. More or less. Just a farm girl in Michigan losing weight. I look forward to February with everyone.
My goal is to lose 4 pounds this month.
What is yours?5 -
Hello! I was glad to be in this group- lost 5 lbs during the month! Would love to continue the same trend in Feb!
I have never succeeded in following through on consistently tracking food/exercise in MFP. Does anyone have a good system/way that you have figured out to make sure you track things?
@crhillis - my strategy is to preplan all my meals, even snacks, and enter them into the app first thing every morning. Later in the day, if I need to make a change, I adjust it then. I also enter my exercise as soon as I complete it and I add to it later in the day if I need to. This has worked well for me so far.2 -

@lisal0sinlbs - I'm so sorry for your loss. You have a wonderful attitude about how to handle your feelings. I'm sure your FIL would be very proud of you.3 -

I always make sure I start logging early in the day, often after I take my multivitamin during my morning routine. Incorporating MFP early helps set a precedent for the day, which makes me more likely to stick with it. I'm not great about logging dinner, honestly, but I'm a rockstar when it comes to logging breakfast, lunch, snacks, and my workouts.2 -

I have the app on my phone and use it to track. I also sign up for the habit tracker each month to make sure I have that pushing me on to be accountable as well.2 -

good morning team weight no more. I did great yesterday. drank my water, did my steps, and stayed in my calorie zone. I am not feeling well. I haven't been for a few weeks now. When you have chronic pain it is hard to to know when to go to the doctor. But the pain has been more than my average for a while now. I am planning a trip to Fort Lauderdale to pick up my granddaughter and son and then heading to Fort myers. Does anyone know what it is like in fort myer now after the hurricane?4

It's been a good couple of days. I've stayed on point for my food choices and am working my way back into getting daily exercise. I had a bad cold right after Christmas and just as I got rid of that, my hubby brought home covid. We had avoided it for 3 years! It was just like having a bad head cold that took 2 weeks to go away! I just now tested negative and am starting to feel better. I get tired and out of breath easier right now but shall pass!
Anyway, yesterday was the first day in a few weeks I was able to get outside and walk in the snow through the woods. I couldn't go as far as I normally would, but I did it! Small steps lead to bigger ones!
Also, I see people posting their daily steps here, is that for a different challenge?5 -

In addition to logging your weekly weights, all of the teams also have an ongoing step challenge! All of the steps that have been posted recently are for the last week of January - as a team we are aiming to hit over three million steps!
You're more than welcome to join in. All you have to do is post your weekly steps - we log them Sunday through Saturday, and then the results are posted the following Wednesday. We would love to have you join the challenge.

Well I went a caught a Sinus infection this weekend. My head feels like someone is playing the drums on it and my nose is running like a leaky faucet. I have not been to the gym in 2 days and I am always hungry. I really hate being sick, but I did go to the doctor today to get some meds. Hopefully I can get this cleared up before it gets any worse. I know this weeks weigh in will not be pretty for me, but I can get back on track next week. Stay healthy my Friends.3

Welcome everyone. I am Tracy, 50, from New Hampsire. I have 2 boys and 3 grandkids. I work in childcare. I am the assistant director. We have had so many teachers out lately with the stomach bug and covid I have been working in the classroom and doing my paperwork and answering emails during naptime. I am taking a few minutes to myself right now to regroup. The 3 year olds are tough, my granddaughter is in the next room so I am getting to hang out with her for the day so there is a bonus. My steps haven't been that great lately. I have my workouts for the week planned in my head but they don't always get followed through on because I have been stuck at work, or had an appointment. I have been trying to get up in the morning but 4 is so early. I really have to figure something out. I only have 3 zumba classes left and then my gym membership is canceled. I found out I am not the only one who canceled. They just need to add more classes.5

Hi, I've not been popping in for a couple of days with other things going on.
Welcome to all the new members 👋
I did terribly in goal-getting since catching a cold but I'm on the up again. It's getting chilly here, with snow and ice forecast, so I'll have to force myself to do more at home in order to get enough steps and not just curl up under the duvet to keep warm (like I am right now).
About me, I'm Scottish, I live in the Czech Republic, I teach English as a second language, I make jewellery and stained glass (not much done recently though). I also do graphic design and am currently playing with AI image apps for new ideas and I really like collecting sea glass when I get to the coast. I'm 52, married, no children, have gained covid-years weight and am working on losing it, along with, the bad snacking and wine habits that I also gained during that time. Health-wise, things are not too bad, the worst being arthritis in my knees.
Right, the hubby has made dinner, my step goal is still in the distance, I'm cold and tired but hope to get some more steps anyway, so I'm off for now to see what I can do.4 -

I am not happy about this gain but I think it is the result of all that worrying I went through between the ultrasound, biopsy, and getting the results. It turns out that was just a cyst, nothing malign and I do not have cancer. What a relief! Thank you @BodyTalking, @cyndiesstuff, and @____Becks____ for all you kind words! And thank you @pacsnc6 for being here and sharing your story - that helped me to avoid a total meltdown!
Even though the news was good, I felt extremely tired afterwards but I resumed daily exercise and I even started recording what eat again. I hope my body will react to familiar routine soon.

I find the hardest part of this journey has been waiting especially when they give you options and they wait 3 - six weeks to Come back with their decision and wait some

I agree, waiting was (is) the worst.1 -
