I am so sorry for the late weigh in again 🤦

Hopefully it will be a loss from now on 😊3 -

So as I mentioned, my parents were visiting for the week and I binged...bad. but I also got a new scale that I am using. So I decided to weigh in this week anyway so the definite increase from food can also be with the difference in scales. My old scale died, so I don't the difference in pounds between them.
Anyway, today was perfect day #1. I have my day planned for tomorrow as well. Back to tracking and not eating out daily/eating sweets!
I have a trip planned at the end of July to visit RI. I need to come up with a plan so I don't gain another 7 pounds (in food/fluid)!4 -
Thurs weigh in 173.5.
I don't know where the last two weeks went, it's been non-stop, think I even missed my weigh in last week. Computer currently shut down due to potential virus, will try to catch up via phone.

Here we are coming up to another Friday! I hope everyone has been having a good week.
I have had a very quiet time since yesterday afternoon - dear Jasper stomped on my foot in a moment of panic over a flapping plastic bag hanging on a hook outdoors - somehow he thought he could just jump onto the place where I was standing. Obviously, I was not afraid, so it must have been a good spot to be, right? Silly big thing. Anyhow, I had a foot x-ray this morning to be sure it is nothing worse than temporary bruising and swelling, and I have been keeping it iced and well rested. I did not hear back yet, so I assume that means everything is OK (or they are terribly understaffed and running behind...). I'll do a bit of exercise bike tonight anyhow - I feel so sluggish after so much sitting! Tomorrow, I'm sure it will be doing better.
What seasonal foods are you all enjoying? I'm going strawberry picking on the weekend - that is always our first big fruit crop. Red currants are coming and my fave black currants soon too. Suddenly my breakfasts get so much more interesting! I always have fruit and plain yogurt with a few nuts or hemp seeds - variety in the fruits this time of year is welcome3 -

Garmin doesn't seem to have last weeks weight recorded for some reason. I think it's a small increase anyway, but considering what I've eaten and the lack of exercise, I'm glad it's so small!3 -

Very pleased. Didn't do much excersize but logged all my food. I've booked myself in for an open water swim on Monday in a pond not too far from me. I used to go regularly but not since COVID so a long hiatus. We'll see how that goes...
Have a great weekend3 -

My husband and I went out for pizza on Wednesday night, so I could imagine this morning is still feeling the sodium from that. I also did not sleep that well last night either.
I’m curious to see how Saturday looks, so I may weigh myself then too just to see. I’m debating on weighing more frequently because this month the scale has gone slightly up.
Today, I have a super early work meeting so I have to push my workout to after work. I have already laid out my workout clothes for when I get home, so there should be no excuses. I am also signed up for a strength class on Saturday morning.
@jugar - strawberry season is just ending for us now. I still have some from a local farm, so I am definitely going to enjoy some this weekend. July is usually when we have fresh melons, blueberries, and raspberries, so I am looking forward to that.
I’m really hoping to lose at least 1lb a week in July, or about 4-5 lbs in total.4 -
CW 193.6
Haven't made it to the new decade like I had hoped, but my digestion is still sluggish. I will try to be more aware on my fibre choices.
Welcome back @Kali225 and I can't want to get to know all the new members more.
I'm deep diving into a lot of personal growth topics through podcasts and therapy and I'm hoping I'll come out the other side with better abilities to emotionally regulate and be more self aware and this will carry through into my health choices and contribute to weightloss and overall fitness. I love this group for the additional thoughtful discussions and sharing of experiences.
New members, never be afraid to share because chances are, someone here can relate.
Here's a photo of us from my step-daughter's Prom. I survived in heels higher than I've ever worn (I'm so tall!) and I'm proudest of the hairstyle I managed to do all by myself from a YouTube tutorial!

@PlaneMonkey You are so gorgeous! And you survived the heels - that is certainly a strong indication of your athletic prowess Hats off to you for getting into the deep water of personal development. It is going to take you all kinds of places. Hard, but so worth it. Hugs to you - big huge ones
@dd265 You had a small loss! Good job - all those episodes of Grey's Anatomy must have kept you thinking healthy
@wishfuljune You are all set up for losing 1 pound a week in July. I feel your resolve. Wishing in June, doing in July!
@pearl4686 Great week! You and @micki48 are just about to climb (sink?) into Onederland. Buddy up in July? Give it a real go? I think you would make terrific partners.
Off to strawberry picking land. My foot is still really swollen, but it will not keep me from berries. At least I won't be lunging and riding Jasper, which I'd really love to do today. I doubt I can get my riding boot on, though... Soon, we'll be back at it.3 -

I have my TOM this week so there's definitely been some silly fluctuations in weight. Not sure where I am actually falling, so see what next week holds.
@PlaneMonkey wow!! I scrolled through the pictures before I finished reading your post (because I am like a moth drawn to visuals??) and 100% assumed that was a professional hair job. Incredible work!! You guys look awesome.
Question: do parents get to GO to prom in your area? Is this a Canadian thing? High schools where I grew up, we left our parents at the pre-prom party in someone's backyard [in regular attire].
We've had a lot of muggy, wet weather in Boston recently but it looks like today may avoid any precipitation, so I am going to try to go kayaking after work. I made the decision in December to get a season pass to the canoe & kayak rental place on the Charles River and it is maybe the best decision I have EVER made. I love kayaking and the river is a 12 min drive from my apartment. So peaceful on the water and such a great workout! happy weekend, waistaways.4 -

Well it's been a busy week and I really haven't been taking much notice of anything but just getting to today. Happy first day of retirement to me!
Last weekend was the final stage of my 60th birthday celebration, with two nights away organised in secret by my hubby. Day one was a fabulous surprise. We drove two hours north of Brisbane to the town of Gympie. There he had us booked for a steam train ride on the historic Mary Valley Rattler, in the VIP club car no less. It was a fabulous 4 hours with locally sourced nibbles, a glass of bubbles and lunch at the station when we returned. There were two stops in two small villages along the line where the locals had set up market stalls and live music to greet the train. Wonderful! We stayed overnight in the cutest little AirBnB which was a converted dairy on a farm just outside Gympie.
Day two we walked alongside the Mary River and I was lucky enough to get some good photos of a rainbow bee-eater flitting around the bushes. We encountered a stray cow munching her way along the walking path and on the way back to our car her owner had arrived to encourage her back across the river where she belonged. We stayed overnight in another place in the mountain village of Maleny. Very pretty sunset.
The rest of the week has been a whirlwind of golf, work, and more head scratching my way through the process of finding aged care of my father.
Today, I have to be disciplined and get my business books up to date and finalised. So maybe a PJ day sitting at my desk.
6 -
@PlaneMonkey you look gorgous! Great job on the hairstyle!
@wdalzell5401 Happy Retirement! Enjoy your days ahead!
@Kali225 that's awesome you are so close to a river. I love kayaking as well, although I don't get to do it often.
Well I am on the way to a perfect day. As long as my headache subsides some, I plan to go for a walk to get the rest of my steps in. I had a crappy day at work so I was really looking forward to the walk. Maybe in an hour my head will ease up and it will be cooler than 84F!7 -
@PlaneMonkey Beautiful family Courtney, what a gorgeous shot. I suck at all things hair and makeup so I'm marveling at your Youtube hair recreation.. amazing.
@Kali225 Oh how I missed thee! Welcome back to our empress of Tuesday.. I see you're weighing in Friday now but that has always stuck in my mind You can be the empress of Friday now
@jugar Ouch on the foot stomp.. good for you for getting in to get it looked at right away. On the topic of what seasonal goodies we're enjoying.. we just stopped in at the farmer's market today and got some fresh shelled peas and red and yellow grape tomatoes.. just so refreshing to snack on both!
We got the batteries today so I will be able to weigh in late tomorrow. I am not expecting good things. I haven't really been tracking and an unchecked Ashley is an Ashley that will overeat.
On the positive, my Garmin insights reminded me I've hit my 10K steps a few days in a row.. often I get my 10K through steps + exercise but the last few days I've hit it on steps alone.. so I found that motivating and pushed yesterday for another day. Hoping to keep it alive a few more days longer!
Exercise catch-up:
Jun 18 - 10310 steps + 38 minutes Peloton
Jun 19 - 10759 steps

What a wonderful series of posts! This has been some seriously enjoyable reading. Wendy! @wdalzell5401 congratulations on hitting your retirement in style. Your trip sounds fabulous, and paperwork in PJs is better than paperwork in office clothes any day! Wishing you great rounds of golf, a serene transition for you and your father into a new living situation, and many beautiful days to come
I picked 22 pounds of strawberries today - it was a hot sunny day, but I know how good those will taste over the next months whenever I take some out of the freezer to make sorbet, or anything else. I have the second half of them to get ready to go into the freezer, so I'll be back later!6 -
I'm so sorry to be late again with my weigh in 🤦

Up just a bit. I can manage. I have to really step up my game the next 6 weeks! I hope to be down about 10 pounds.
My daughter's wedding is August 13th. While I want to lose the few extra pounds by wedding day, this thing has me stressed out!
Work was super stressful this past week. The work, itself, was fine. We had a district realignment and gained stores without team members for our job. Trying to manage 4 stores and train someone new is challenging.

No problem - I'll put you in the Support Team, and you can still drop by any time to let us know how you're doing. Get that foot back on its feet! See you in August.1 -
@IDebraK August 13th! That is fantastic to have a wedding in the family, even if it is a bit (or more!) stressy. Call it excitement, it sounds more fun Since you know you'll be having all the nervous energy, be sure to plan as many "perfect" eating days as possible. It will help you feel that you can do anything - if you can eat well during a time like this, you are up for any challenge that comes along!4
-
Ok folks.. here is week 3 from June 18-24. All caught up now! What I like about making sure every week gets its own report is that you can really see how everyone gets a chance to shine in one area or another as the weeks go on. Every lull in steps gives you a chance the next week to ladder up... if you're into exercise you can come in on top in non-step related stats... and of course consistency is always a fun target to hit. Make sure you've given me a daily goal so I can include you in those stats!
