HOW IT ALL WORKS: The April challenge runs for four weeks, from March 31 - April 27.
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get April rolling!

Wow, April already. My name is Linda and I was captain until this month. I am leaving you all in the capable hands of Megan @Megan_smartiepants1970. Don’t forget to tag her from now on when post your weekly weights.
I am married, have 3 adult children and 4 beautiful granddaughters. My 18 year old granddaughter, Hayley, moved in with us at the end of February. It has been a big adjustment have someone else in the apartment along with dealing with snacks that would not normally be available in my place. I will be 60 this c9ming June and hope to be at my goal weight by then. I have lowered it a few times but expect I will be stopping once I get off the next 8 pounds. My exercise has been sad. It is better than it was but definitely needs improvement. I am waiting on back surgery in the next couple of months. I have slowly been improving my walking distance. I increased my steps last month but will wait until next month to do so again. I also have to start gett In the pool more. I am dealing with memory issues so if I ask a question twice or repeat myself I apologize in advance. I better not forget to mention my two very fat cats Nick and Lady.
Welcome to our new teammates!3 -

Super congrats to the winners or losers as the case may be.
New to the challenge but happy to be here. I'm Barb, originally from Ohio but now living in NC. I'm 62 (how did that happen? ) and single but have one dog: Nelly. Everyone asks if she's a rapper, but her name got misspelled on at the vet office and I just went with it. She doesn't seem to mind. Love the mountains and love to hike in them. But I'd like to hike in them at a lighter weight.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 : Can you add me to the step list? I'll aim for 5000 a day. I know it's low, but I had some humongous dental work done last week and can't go for it just yet. It'll give me something to aim for!3 -

Question of the day: What is everyone's favorite holiday? Mine is Christmas I love the winter months and my Birthday is 4 days after Christmas1
-
Way to put week 3 behind and crush it in week 4 to bring home to gold. Ride the wave, yall. Let's bring the trophy back home this month. 🫶🏽3

Favorite holiday? Has to be July 4th. It's summertime, and the livin' is easy as the song goes. It was also my sister's birthday (she passed away many years ago) so it's always been sort of special to me. I'm not so much for fireworks, but I love a good picnic, lol.1

Morning all, I'm Lis, 60 (for 3 more weeks!). From the uk but have lived in Spain for 22 years.
Started my journey here in August 2021 at 276lb. Met my goal of 176lb before Xmas then promptly gained 20lb. 😳😳
What's different is every other time in my life i would have given up and gained the entire 100lb back! Not this time 😁😁
I'm back down to 182lb and determined to lose that last 6lb and maybe a bit more.
Come on Downsizers, let's have a great month!4 -
@Jounee_hdl, @Mayzi61 and @Trillium54
Welcome!
@Megan_smartiepants1970 I completely spaced weigh in on Saturday. It was my uncle's funeral that day and just wasn’t what was on my mind. Anyway, not sure what to do.
Do I skip or do you want today’s? I’m ok with either.
PW:193.1
CW: 192.0
My name is Renee and I am a now retired but still licensed nurse of 33 years. I can’t seem to give up that license just in case 😂. I am married with three grown boys two of whom are married, 3 grandchildren, and 1 more on the way and due in July. I can’t wait! It’s been almaist 8 years since the birth of our last grandson.
My goals for April after looking back over the first three months of the year are
#1 commit to a no sugar month again-it’s creeping back in 😞
#2 Commit to three days of intentional exercise-it’s become non existent. I really don’t know what my problem is lately?! I’m losing focus!
#3 try to find some time daily to just relax
My favorite holiday is New Year’s Day. All of the stress, activity, and fun chaos of Christmas is behind me and I have a feeling of a fresh new start. It’s a day spent relaxing in front of the fire and watching football. My version of heaven😅3 -

Monday's Question of the day ...What is everyone's favorite color? Mine is purple1

Mine’s blue!0

Mine's purple, too!

Hi, Team! I'm Caryn. I'm 44 and live in NYC. I just got a new kitty, he's a tuxedo and he's absolutely adorable. I'm also in an acapella chorus that performs and competes. This is probably my sixth serious attempt at losing weight. I lost about 60 pounds when I first moved back to NY in 2019 but I gained it all back stress eating during the pandemic. I'm taking my time right now and trying really hard to form new healthy sustainable habits. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself and hoping to remain consistent.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Weigh In Day: Monday
PW 210.1
CW 207.6
Favorite color: GREEN. I love green! I love how fresh and vibrant it is. I probably love a bright kelly green the best but I love all greens and now that Spring is finally here, there's green EVERYWHERE!

To all the new Downsizers - welcome! @Jounee_hdl, @Mayzi61 and @Trillium54
My 3/31 wgt was 136.2
Goal weight is still gonna be 134 for April.
I'm mostly vegan, struggle with salt related weight swings, and have a long term goal of losing 3-4 pounds to eliminate VAT fat to avoid the metabolic triad of related diseases. I'm currently on crutches which is NOT HELPING at the moment, lol
I have fostered a lot of cats for the local no kill shelter. 25 and counting. I will start swapping out my photo with foster photos as I go along. So I guess my favorite color is calico! I'll switch my photo to a tuxedo! His name was Micky, and he was the cutest ever ;D
