Sorry, I haven't been checking in lately. I've still been tracking my food and getting lots of activity in my days. I've been busy doing tree jobs with my husband. I got a little bit of poison ivy from one of them. Funny thing, my fitbit says that when I was pulling the yard cart, and pushing the lawn mower, I was mountain biking. When I was raking I was swimming. When I'm loading the trailer with logs and branches, I was doing aerobics. And when I do my bible study, I'm sleeping...lol. I've also been running to get ready for my 5k on Sunday. I ran it in 56 min. 12 sec. yesterday. That's an improvement from 1hour 3min. 51sec. I dropped my phone in the driveway last night. It still works but cracked the screen making it difficult to read anything. I hope I can find some time to get a new one today. We're getting ready to go cut some trees and grind some stumps. Then we are going bowling with my FIL this afternoon.
@rashi_devi- You're making great progress. Nice NSV photos.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - Prayers and hugs.💪Mission Slimpossible Strong!💪

@19shmoo69 – I thought for sure someone with kids as old as yours that you’d know who Stuart Smalley is…sorry! Hope you got a chance to watch the video that @Katmary71 shared.
@Katmary71 – I remember reading about the guy that you introduced to the garden. Sounds like you can be a good mentor for him and the help he can provide around the house will definitely help with his self-esteem. That ionic foot bath sounds both intriguing and disgusting! Ha!
@trooworld – No, I didn’t realize the art show was focused on mental health. So you really stepped out of your comfort zone I’m assuming. I hope it was therapeutic for you! Yes, it was hard setting the boundary because I always feel like I need to do more. My therapist tells me I do way more for my children than anyone else he counsels. But I still feel guilty saying no. I’m working on it. Oh – and I’m totally going to try that butter beans recipe! I’ll make it with dry beans to see how they turn out. The recipe calls for canned, but cooking for 20-25 minutes does seem quite long for beans already cooked. I’ll let you knowAwesome job on the water!
@TeresaW2024 – I’m sending you an imaginary gold star for your Mexican pizza! Glad it was a hit! Yes, the stress is awful. I want a vacation so bad…and I’m sitting on 6 weeks of available vacation time. Fortunately that means I can take a couple weeks off when Brayden is born. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to take time for just myself. Wow, your retreat sounds dreamy!
@Veta2018 – LOLs on the fitbit. Mowing the lawn always registered as biking for me, too!
Thank you to everyone praying for me. I’m feeling a little better today even though my sleep was interrupted several times throughout the night with awful leg and foot cramps. The extra magnesium supplement just isn’t cutting it any more. I’ll take suggestions if anyone has any!
Yesterday we got outside and went to a county park that has an upper and lower boardwalk (pics below) that goes over marshland and ends at a river. Hunter had Byron in the stroller and I wore Oliver. Both babies were in awe listening to all the frogs. It was adorable and Oliver ended up falling asleep with his tiny head against me. I love those babies so much! I really needed that relaxing time. It was just the right amount of walking. My ankle started hurting when the car was in view again at the end.
Today is a new day and time for me to get my focus back. I’ll start with one good food decision at a time and make sure to log everything. Thank you, everyone, for all your support. You have no idea how much it means to me!

@micaroo4 Thank you!
@megnolia82 We all have those days but like what everyone else says "You have to just jump back on the wagon and let it go."
@AyaTheTyga Depression is hard but keeping active is great for you. I too have been suffering from it for the past 2.5 yrs. This yr I decided I am choosing to be happy. I wrote the saying "Today I Choose To Be HAPPY!" on my chalkboard of my coffee bar door so that it is the first thing I read when I start my day. I really has help me set the tone for my day.
@gemwolf110 Happy birthday to your pups! Make them memories, cleaning is always going to be there.
@trooworld Thank you! Your mac and cheese does sound good.
@TeresaW2024 Mexican food is so hard not to overeat. Drink that water 😂 I tried the diet bet once I lost my money. 😢
So we are here at Blanco State Park until Friday. The rain has cleared up for now. As we drove here, passing over bridges and seeing the creeks and rivers full again was great. But we also had some major flash flooding that had caused the loss of bridges so roads have been shut down and alternate routes will have to be used. We have not seen rain like this in a while. We have been in a serious drought for a few yrs now. So the rain was a blessing but at a cost. livestock and wildlife have paid the price.
It is a bit muddy but we do have plans to get out later today and walk around the park.it might be a day or 2 before we hit the hiking trails. Diesel is not doing so well with this trip. His anxiety is really bad so, I have decided to find a trainer to help me with him. He should be having fun instead of being stressed out. I am using calming treats to help him. I really hope thing get better for him and he has a little more fun on this trip. Enough for now.
Have a great day!
My youngest is high strung. Vet recommended the Purina pro plan calm probiotic or their calm food line. I guess it targets a site to calm the dogs in their digestive system to their brain. They saw success with dogs on the food. I called a trainer for mine and he basically said exercise, mental stimulation, and maybe nose work classes. Good luck!2 -

@vegan4lyfe2012 - Great pics of the county park. Continued prayers sent your way. There inducing labor on Monday. Little Carson will be here soon. Can't wait till his little head is resting on my shoulder.
@micaroo4 - I understand your anxiety of putting on a couple pounds to stay at a good weight. It can be a little nerve wrecking that it doesn't get out of control. It is a huge adjustments to maintain after so long of losing.
@Cornanda - Congratulations on the loss!
@trooworld - Great loss, congratulations! Those good choices and staying hydrated is really paying off.💪Mission Slimpossible Strong!💪3 -
Nice losses, @Cornanda & @trooworld!
@trooworld – I would consider your time at the gallery a success! I’m gonna try the bean recipe (hopefully) this weekend. And I finally bought peas last night to try the pasta. I do eat a banana every morning with my tea. I also take a 500mg magnesium supplement. It’s just not working. It sucks being woken up with cramps an hour before the alarm goes off. And yes, still having ankle problems. I went back to the doctor and he said the pain I’m feeling is scar tissue. Figures. I don’t think the potatoes for your breakfast was bad – taters are delicious and filling!
@Veta2018 – I’m so excited for you! Just a few more days! Babies are the BEST!
Well, I did good with food up until about 8pm. I had 6 calories left and I was so determined to not eat anything else. Well, that’s hard to do when you’re babysitting a little until MIDNIGHT. I am pretty mad at myself…I ended up eating about ¾ of a vegan chocolate bar…not such a bad choice until I mention that I don’t like chocolate, so I ate it with peanut butter. Yes. Every bite had to have peanut butter. That triggered me to want to eat even more. So I ended up with a huge bowl of Cheerios Berry Oat Crunch and soy milk. Probably about 3 cups each. So yeah. Ended the night over calories by around 1,000. Oh the self-hate is kicking in really good. Here’s to another day of trying…

@reshii_devi Thank you!
@megnolia82 That's exciting you were able to jog, woohoo! It's a huge step and achievement, congratulations!
@trooworld Do you interact on your feed here at all? I have a friend who makes Blue Zones recipes, she's in Fat2Fit but a different group, she posts the recipes on her feed and makes some pretty amazing stuff if you're interested in her name to send her a FR. You're doing great the freedom to go to the cafe once a week is smart so you get a treat but not too much. I hope it helps!
@TeresaW2024 Glad the pizza was a huge hit! The foot bath I can only do on days I change my pain patch so once a week, she wants to see me more but don't know how that's possible without going off of it. I'm with you on sabotaging myself, it's frustrating! I haven't heard of that book, sounds like a good one I'm looking forward to hearing about what you learn.
@askewcr I hope you're able to shake that cough soon, blood sugar is getting way better!
@tfelts147 Way to go!
@Veta2018 Haha that's funny on the tracker! Oh no I hope you're able to get your phone replaced fast. Enjoy bowling!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Do you have a bathtub you can use? For spasms/pain I use 1-2 cups Epsom salt, 1 cup ACV (doesn't smell when you get out) then Dr. Teals Melatonin bubble bath, it calms my spasms down long enough to fall asleep (along with marijuana tea). That time at the park sounds precious with the little ones, what a beautiful spot! I'm glad your ankle held out. Oh boy that treat sounds amazing yummy. Hugs today is a new day.
@micaroo4 Thanks I got it logged!
@trooworld Congratulations on the loss! Haha how freakin annoying about the pistachios what a lousy way to start the day! Great choice at the cafe and with water, you handled it well. So many times when crap like that happens it's easy to throw your hands up and go get something awful and let it ruin your day.
@ninyagwa I'm glad you peeked in and said hi!
Hi team! Well I went to help at the farmer's market booth for the charity yesterday and stuck around for the meeting but I made it clear I'm only willing to flyer on weekends and nothing else. Had a treatment earlier and am not feeling too well, followed that with the pain clinic where they can't get me in before I need a refill again which is infuriating. I'm supposed to go to my neighbor's for dinner with her family then load the car for tomorrow's backyard cleanup which I can't wait to have behind me for good. Have a good Saturday gang!3 -

@trooworld, Congrats on your 1.6 lb loss! I would have gone to the cafe instead of eating that crazy yogurt concoction too.
Yeah, I agree that you would have to research rebounding with your feet issues. It will hurt your feet to start, which might not be a good idea for you. But someday, if your feet improve, you can try it. It’s such a great way to get in shape. I haven’t lost much weight yet, but last night, I could easily slip my wedding rings off, and those babies were super tight. So, definitely helps with inflammation as well as making me feel great and much more flexible.
@vegan4lyf2012 It’s hard not to overeat once you start, and peanut butter is definitely a gateway food that makes us want to do that. My suggestion is to either pre-plan a healthy snack that won’t trigger you to eat more, you can rinse your mouth with some super strong mouthwash, or, even better, get some Wow Drops. If you put one drop of Wow on your tongue, no food will be tasty.
Hello! It’s been a lazy couple of days, which I like. My bestie came over yesterday for coffee and brought me two dozen eggs. I’m happy her chickens are doing so well, and I can also benefit from them.I did well yesterday with my eating. I still had too big of a snack, but we had sloppy Joe’s for dinner, and I used sugar-free BBQ sauce and made a chaffle instead of a 39-gram carb bun. I was also able to up my workout by doing a strength + rebound program. Yesterday was just lower body exercises using my own body weight, but it was great to be able to get off the floor and not have any pain in my wrist. I’m ready to start with weights, which makes me happy! I have three more days before my weigh-in, and I am determined to get the scale down!

This week I've been more consistent with logging my food. I've done better this week with food choices but my weeks of overeating caught up with me this week.
I'm going to be celebrating this weekend with my birthday today and mother's day tomorrow. But come Monday I'm going to be back at reasonable eating habits.
Did anybody see the Northern lights last night? I slept through it although I don't think I would of seen much here in TN.3 -

Good morning Team Slimpossible!!!!!
I've noticed there's been some losses and congrats for that. There's been small gains but don't beat yourself up it's one week out of a gazillion weeks you'll have. And definitely don't beat yourself up if you have not logged, didn't exercise or if you've over ate. Remember we are here to live life that includes losing weight, getting healthy, helping others and quite possibly making friends.
Today I fired up the smoker about 6am and quit about 6pm. I'm wore out.
Have a blessed day.4 -

SPOTLIGHT ON MEGNOLIA82
Hi! I'm happy to have been asked to tell you a little about myself for this member spotlight. My name is Meg. I've just turned 42 years old, and I've been a member here for 9 years! I'm so grateful to have this community of support, whether it's my Fat 2 Fit Team, or just the thousands of helpful posts from users new and veteranHere goes:
What made you decide to improve your health and join mfp?
I was tired of struggling on my own with my weight. I liked the idea of a community of people all working towards similar goals. The online format works great for me - no excuses since I'm always a click away - and you can't beat the cost at $0! There was nothing to lose, so I checked it out, and found so much inspiration, and tools to help me learn more about my eating habits and how they impact my weight and well-being.
What makes improving your health worth doing?
Initially, I wasn't concerned about my health. It wasn't until I hit my 40s that my weight started creeping higher than ever, and I was hit in the face with how much my body was struggling. I was winded from simple activity, I could hardly tie my shoes, I had plantar fasciitis that caused constant burning pain. My joints screamed at me in activity and at rest. I realized that I desperately needed a change. I am way too young to feel so terrible all the time. I also have kids - I want to model for them a healthy, active mom. I want to enjoy spending time with them hiking, playing, swimming. All things we love to do! Bottom line is that I AM worth doing this right. I deserve to feel comfortable in my own skin and to wake up in the morning free of pain. Honestly, I hit he point I just couldn't put it off any longer.
What have you tried in the past that hasn't worked or that has worked?
Counting calories works! It really does. I trust the math. I lost around 40 pounds in 2018 through strict calorie counting. I like to say that it's not easy, but it's incredibly simple. What hasn't worked is deluding myself into thinking the choices I make aren't big enough to make a difference. EVERY choice makes a difference.
What form of exercise do you enjoy?
I LOVE walking. My preference is hiking in the forest. Trees and water have a huge effect on my mental wellbeing. I love everything about the water - I have a kayak that I don't get out nearly enough, and I love to swim. I also have a stationary bike that I really enjoy - the key is getting into a regular habit and making it something I anticipate each day.
What goals did you achieve this past year?
I have recently got myself into a daily tracking habit. I fell off the wagon for a few years - you know the story: covid, isolation, depression, injury, illness.... but recently I have truly got myself back on track and I've managed a current 21 day logging streak. I also hit a 20 pound loss milestone this morning (from my highest which was a couple months ago). Also this week I knocked my socks off by adding a short jog to my walk. I walked 7km in 90 minutes which I was already feeling pretty good about, but I decided to pick up the pace for a short burst. I couldn't believe that I actually managed to run for a short distance without becoming winded and without any knee pain. It's the first time I thought I may actually be able to run one day. That would have been unfathomable 2 months ago.
How did you manage to alter your eating plan?
I had to do this out of necessity. Back in September I dealt with my second c. difficile infection. It's a gastrointestinal bacterial infection and it's nasty. I developed some severe intolerances, and I required an extremely restricted diet to heal. I discovered some well-tolerated meals that I really enjoyed. These days I skip breakfast in favour of tea (no milk or sugar). I make the same lunch every day - a soup of tomato, mushroom and tofu with a teaspoon of broth mix. It's delicious and filling, and quite low cal. For dinner I have an enormous salad of spring mix, more tomatoes and more mushrooms and a non-creamy dressing. With that big filling salad I then have a reasonable amount of room for whatever supper we're having - nothing is off limits, I eat whatever I make for my family, but I'm not having seconds and I'm not having a huge helping. I'm lucky that I thrive off routine and really enjoy my same lunch every day.
What is your favourite healthy food?
I love all food. So it's not hard to love healthy foods. I eat tomatoes, tofu and mushrooms every day. I could eat tomatoes for every meal! I also love fish, spinach and shrimp. I discovered that shrimp is a super low cal protein source, and it's quick and easy to cook. I also love quinoa, chickpeas, beans and most kinds of fruit.
What is your goal for this next year:
I have a handful of goals I hope to achieve this year. Of course I have a weight goal, and I'd like to reach my healthy bodyweight. I don't mind using BMI as a measure because at least it gives me a ballpark. At the moment I fall in the obese category and I have about 45 pounds to healthy weight so that's one goal. Another goal is to track my calories every day, good or bad. And I want to incorporate at least 30 minutes of physical activity at least 4 days a week. I'm happy but also humbled to have been asked to share with you. I'm nowhere near what you might call a success story in terms of actual numbers. I don't have amazing before and after photos. But hopefully I can offer some encouragement to those of you in my boat. Look at this - 9 years ago I joined mfp to lose weight. Over that time I gained 50 pounds. Life gets messy and throws us curveballs. I actually did really amazing until some road blocks threw me off my game. Illness happens to all of us. Stress happens to all of us. Pain and loss and self-doubt and self-sabotage. It happens. But my biggest advice to myself and to you as well is to never give up. Yes, I've gained. Then I've lost, then I've gained. But I know if I wasn't always coming back I would have just gained, and gained, and gained. And the unconditional support I have found here is incredible. I've been a pretty poor group member for months at a time. I drift, I've barely pulled together the time to weigh in. But I kept doing it, even when I was reporting gains week after week. And these folks never gave up on me. No matter how distant I was, my mfp family was always ready to support me through thick and thin (haha). So if you're feeling like you're letting your group down - stop that thinking! If you've started more times than you can count and you don't know if it's worth it to try yet again - DO. It is. Our priorities and our goals might change over time, but we are all worthy of our own best efforts to feel better. I'm happy to say that over the last 3 weeks I've lost 8 pounds. My mindset is right, my habits are good. I'm confident that I can keep the momentum going. And when I struggle, which I will , I'll be right back here to remind myself that it's possible, and that I have more support than I know.
Much happiness to you, Meg
* Thank you for doing the spotlight Meg, this was a wonderful chance to get to be inspired by and learn more about you! Loved you pointing out that success isn't always a number on a scale but getting through the hard times as best as you can. You've been incredible at bouncing back after some real tough issues. I'm happy you're part of our Mission Slimpossbles family.3
