How many 5% Challenges have you done? I did a couple when we were all SparkPeople and I did the Fall Challenge 2023 and had a great result. I thought I could go it alone and I have put some of that weight loss back on but not all of it. The important thing is that I'm back! B)

What do you like to do for fun? I love singing and dancing.

What major city do you live in or near? State? I live in London UK - I'm in the outer city but I get in to the centre regularly.

What are you health/fitness goals for this season? I would like to lose 5% of my current body weight - I have a longer term goal to get in to Onederland by my 60th birthday in October. I would also like to raise and maintain a higher daily step count and get back in to resistance training and yoga/Pilates. It will be a little change at a time.

How would your pet or friend describe you? I don't have any pets but I imagine if I did they would just be clicking their fingers to summon me.

What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. I have just finished 1 month sugar and flour free - which is the thing that gave me confidence to go back to tracking my food fully again and aim for a weight loss target.

What is your favourite TV show? The Queen's Gambit - easily my favourite TV show ever.

Would you rather exercise, wash a car or clean house? Exercise - at least then I have a choice about what I do.

What always cheers you up? Visiting my friends' permaculture farm on the south coast. Also, the song 'Groove is in the Heart'.

2 fun things about you? I'm thinking of dying my hair pink and I have a funny left eye but that's OK as I can tell good jokes.

Anything else you would like to share? I have had to stop pretending that I can have certain foods in moderation, some people can but I really can't. No sugar. No flour. No starches. No blood sugar peaks and crashes.

How many 5% Challenges have you done?

This is my second or third…. I started before electroconvulsive therapy so it’s a bit fuzzy if I completed the second one.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to crochet, budget, organize, and create new recipes in the kitchen! I’m currently working on a baby blanket, and I am going to start a pink and white blanket for one of my cousins.

What major city do you live in or near? State?

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada! The heart of North America!

What are you health/fitness goals for this season?

I want to be able to do the stairs at my new place without getting winded.

How would your pet or friend describe you?

Kind, giving, although also blunt and sarcastic! And I have a sense of humour.

What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can.

A package of garlic Idahoan instant Mashed Potatoes LOL!

What is your favorite TV show? I don’t watch tv normally. I like audiobooks and music. I have a Disney plus account simply because a friend and I watch Dr. Pol when she comes over to help me with my laundry and to clean my place. My favourite movie, though, is Rent!

Would you rather exercise, wash a car or clean house? Clean house! My mom got one day off a week so we would always crank the music on that one day and do a major clean of the house. One of my favourite memories is walking home from school one spring day to the windows open and music pouring out of the house and my mom waving out the window when she saw me. I loved cleaning days because it was the only day we got to spend with my mom in her element: taking care of my brother and I as a mom and not the breadwinner.

    What always cheers you up?

    Metallica or My Chemical Romance

    2 fun things about you?

I once jumped out of a perfectly good airplane and I travelled to Belize on a mission trip one winter early in my pastoral career. The sun made me sick and I swore to never again go to Central America. I lied, though, and was back a few years later, this time to the Dominican Republic for a wedding. I handled that trip much better.

Anything else you would like to share? I am excited to be back and am excited to be working towards my health goals again!

This is my niece who is the most important external reason for me to get healthy. Those words on the picture are my core values, the things that motivate me to continue moving forward.
    v6eflwz59bjn.jpeg
I crochet cat blankets for my local humane society!

My two boys. Clyde is the darker one and Khonchu is the lighter one. They are both rescues my sister took in and then, when the doctor ordered her to get rid of her cats, I took them in.
