BodyTalking wrote: Β»π¬ 30+ years since I've been on a bike! But, I did it, rather wobbly at first and overly careful π The obstacles that came my way were like out of a slap-stick comedy, such as a football rolling in front of me and a little boy chasing it π Anyway, it was all in slow motion and no-one was hurt.
@BodyTalking - I love when life gets a little cartoonish, keeps things light! Great ride! How are you feeling after it?My steps were not that bad this week. Iβm hoping I can keep it up. I did walk twice on the treadmill last week but my feet are paying the price now. I think Iβm going to go get new sneakers. I havenβt been fitted for sneakers in a while, see what I can get to help. I am going to a new dr for the nerves pinching in my back and causing me issues with my left side so hopefully that will be helpful.
@ljdanny - I got new sneakers a couple weeks back, and I am AMAZED at the difference it has made so far. Here's hoping they do the same for you!2 -
Weigh In Day: Friday
PW (Previous Weight): 206.2
CW (Current Weight): 201.8
I donβt know how this happened, but Iβm not mad at it! I know Iβve been keeping a bigger calorie deficit because I said I wanted to go hard for the month of May and get under 200 by my birthday (the 26th).
Iβm still working out consistently and eating around 1400ish cals a day. But this week Iβve gone back to consistently keeping with IF and spreading out my calories throughout the day if I can manage to so I donβt come home from work and snack because Iβm hungry.
Iβve avoided most of my cheats that Iβve been letting myself get away with the last month or so and itβs definitely reflected that on the scale this week!
You're almost to onederland too! I finally started back to run/walk.0 -

Thanks @minstrelofsarcasm π I feel fine, it was an intrepid 'gently does it' type of a ride. I'm just glad that I had the courage to get on and stay on. I think I'll get some elbow pads as well because it felt like it would only be a matter of time before I took a tumble.1

@ljdanny I bought Skechers i-conik trainers last month and they are perfect. I hope your new sneakers help with your back problems xx1

A rainy day meant that I could go to the park and enjoy being on a bike without all those pesky people π
I felt much more confident today and found myself smiling every now and again as I picked up speed and kept a straight line.

Steps for the week, not accurate as had to cover shifts in my work kitchen this week on Thursday and Friday and not allowed my watch on and no pockets to carry it so steps not recorded for 5 hrs each day.
Never mind π0 -

Ran my second ever 5k yesterday!
Did much better than my first one as last time I was sick the week leading up to it and just struggled through lol
Much happier with my results this time, official time of 45:06! Almost 6 minutes faster than my first race!
I have already registered for another in September! Hoping to see even more improvement on my time by then!
Hope everyone had a great week and an even better week to come ahead!5 -
@chocohollic I also work in a kitchen, I wear my watch around my ankle tucked away in my sock π it is not perfect as I think it is missing some of my steps but better than nothing
@BodyTalking you are an inspiration with your bike, I haven't been on one since I was a teenager but I am thinking about trying again now
@andja87 amazing achievement, well done on your personal best, 6 minutes faster is brilliant for a 5k!

Monday 10,069

Well done ππ @andja87 That's great and you look so fit and proud!
Thanks @Emilienewme I'd been thinking about it for a long time, downloaded the hire bike apps last year, bought a helmet last week and plucked up the courage to just try it. You should go for it too! I suggest going at a quiet time so that there aren't as many people around - I really enjoyed doing it in the rain. I don't intend to go on roads and will stick to the park, which has wide smooth roads and good paths. Oh, and I sometimes wear my watch in my sock too π0 -
