HOW IT ALL WORKS: The June challenge runs for four weeks, from June 2 - 29.
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get June on the road!

Hello Shape Shifters and a big welcome to all our new members ( @babytis @AstralCrazy @neilphicks @partyof7 @tahm42 @kysunflower77 ) for June! I hope you are all doing well.
I am one of the captains of the team together with Jessica. We take care of all the data such as your weigh ins and the steps. If you have any questions, let us know! I joined this team in August 2021 and I have found it a very valuable tool on my weight loss journey.
There are a lot of things being offered here; there is the step challenge, the habit tracker, the weekly challenges, your personal weigh in and of course the Shape Shifter group chat itself. The more you engage with the group, the more you will get out of it.
Don't hesistate to reach out when you are having a hard time, chances are you aren't the only one and everyone here is kind and supportive. I often see people feel bad about posting a gain, please don't! We are all aware that weight loss isn't linear. Sometimes the scale just does what it wants, even when you do everything right. So post it, shrug it off and keep going. As long as you put in the work, the results will come, promise. Remember that one day of overeating does not erase any progress!
I wish everyone a great June with lots of victories, big and small!

FAQ for New Shape Shifters Members
How do I post my weigh in?
Userid
(Day of Week) Weigh-in
PW: 204 lbs (previous weight)
CW: 202 lbs (current weight)
LTD: 12 lbs (optional loss to date)
Where is the Weigh in stats spreadsheet?
Start at the Fat2Fit Main Page and under the header information, you’ll see a section at the bottom that says “TO ACCESS THE SPREADSHEETS FOR JANUARY CLICK HERE” followed by the link in blue. Once you click on that link, it will take you to the Summary page. Find Shape Shifters on the tabs at the bottom and click on that and that brings you to the stats page. Also on this page (scrolling down), you’ll find the Step Challenge chart as well. This is where we record your daily steps if you sign up to be part of the monthly step challenge. More info on how to sign up is below! Join us!
How often should I post in the chatroom?
Whenever you have a question, suggestion, story, news announcement or just want to brighten someone's day!! There's never too much...and please share recipes, tips, laughs, challenges, cartoons, pictures of your pets, pictures from walks you've taken, etc...we love it all!!
What if I have to be out of town during my weigh in?
Send a message to one of the Captains (JessicaKrall8 or Pupowl) in the chatroom or in a private message on MFP's mail and let her know your circumstance...if it's just for a week or two, you can be excused from the weigh-in. If you must leave for longer than a month, you may be moved to our support team until you return. When you're ready to come back, send another message and the MODS will move you back to active status.
What happens if I miss a weigh in?
If you're late, you'll be marked as LWI (late weigh in). If you fail to report in at all, you'll be labeled as NWI (no weigh in). After two NWIs, you're put on the drop list if no explanation has been provided. It's always best to let your Captain know what's going on and she'll make sure you're covered.
How do I sign up for the Step Challenge?
Send the Captains a message that you'd like to join, provide your daily step goal and tell her your favorite place to walk. It's that simple! Please be aware though, you're making a commitment to post your steps every 2-3 days, which helps the Captains keep the stats caught up. If you're not willing to do this, please do not sign up. (THANKS!!)
Do I have to re-register each month to remain part of Team Shape Shifters?
No, your membership will carry over month to month. The only place where this is NOT true is for the Step Challenge. You have to sign up each month to participate in it and this gives you the opportunity to adjust your daily step goal.
If I've missed anything or questions arise, just post them! We'll find the information you need as much as possible! Hope this helps!
Welcome!
Jessica

Hey guys, I'm returning for June! I took May off, but during May I lost ten pounds so it would really skew the PW vs. CW stat and all that and not really be fair. Not sure how to post it. Well, it might all be packed back on by the time I weigh in and be a non-issue. Anyway, let's go team!5

Just popping in to say hello 🙋♀️ and welcome to the new people. I will post a proper introduction later from my computer. Old eyes 👀, fat fingers and a small phone screen are a bad combination. 😁.
Have a great day everyone! 🌞3 -
Happy Saturday everyone!
The bloat has come down some since leaving the hospital and today I weighed in at 186.8 lbs
I hope everyone is having à beautiful weekend!

Good morning Shape Shifters. Time for another intro!
My name is Laura, I am 36 and I live with my cat Tinus in a small village in the Netherlands. I got really lucky with the house I rent and I live very close to a national park with a second one 30 minutes biking away. I enjoy walking, taking photographs of nature (birds are my favorite), reading fantasy books, drinking obscene amounts of tea, singing, video games and jigsaw puzzles. I am a pretty visual person and I like sharing pictures in the group.
I struggle with some health problems that make weight loss and life in general a little challenging, but I try my best! May was an awesome month with a very high total loss. I think I can give the most credit to switching my diet to 100% plant based. I don't really think I ate less calories than before, but I did have less cravings and it was easier to stay on plan. Hopefully June will be another good month. My main goal will be to make it out of the 180's and finally plan a horse ride now that I have a good sports bra.
Happy June!
Oct 2020 ~ 247.0 lbs -- Highest weight, started seriously to work on losing weight
Aug 2021 ~ 214.0 lbs -- Joined this group!
Jan 2022 ~ 195.3 lbs -- Lowest weight I got to, it didn't last long and I started gaining here. I started (and quit again) a medication a while before which really messed me up. I can't blame 9 months of over eating on it, but it for sure caused a lot of problems. Also, lockdown and gym closed.
Oct 2022 ~ 244.7 lbs -- Came back to the group from support having to start basically all over again.
Mar 2023 ~ 212.9 lbs -- Not sure why it went wrong here (Birthday stuff maybe), but started gaining again and I couldn't get it together
Sep 2023 ~ 238.0 lbs -- Came back to the group from support again. The gain was less this time, but still not pretty.
Today ~~ 183.4 lbs -- Hopefully third time’s the charm.6 -

I have been feeling a little under the weather and haven't been up to writing and posting here much. I will see if I can share some today or tomorrow if I feel better! I also missed one daily card, sorry about that.4

@Pupowl No need to apologize at all!! You do so much for this group, you are allowed to take a break. Hope you feel better, and give Tinus a good pat for me. ☺️4

AstralCrazy
Sunday Weigh-in
PW: 165lbs
CW: 163.4lbs
LTD: 10.4lbs (since 2/25/24)
Woo 10lbs down total! I’m so happy with how I’ve started. I feel a million times better already, and the sugar addiction I had that was easily tipping my calories hundreds over my maintenance line is starting to take a back seat. I can definitely feel how much easier it is to stick to a plan once you’re weeks into it.
Slow and steady is hard for me, but I’m confident in it now. The big picture is so motivating. Hopefully I can pick things up from 0.5-1lbs a week to more like 1-1.5lbs in these coming months! This month, I’ll be participating in two Chloe Ting fitness challenges (well, okay, I am committing HARD to one. Hopefully my body is willing to do the second) and I’ve got a few more healthy snack recipes to try to replace some of my less-fulfilling favorites (don’t worry Oreos, I’ll always have at least a little room for you haha).
Happy June everyone6 -

Hi Shape Shifters, you have a new team member joining. Please welcome @kysunflower79!5

Good Morning Shape Shifters! Everyone else is doing intros, so I guess I'll fall in line:
I'm Jessica, one of your crazy Captains, and I've been here for over five years. I'm 58, divorced and live in Chesapeake, Virginia, about 20 minutes from the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. I'm originally from Kentucky. I work full-time in IT as a Logistics Systems Analyst for an international shipping company (container shipping). I've been there for 20 years this month!
I've been overweight for most of my life, but have traced the origins of my weight gain back to the loss of my father to cancer when I was 12 years old. My Mom, who was dealing with the loss of her husband of 36 years, was dealing with her own grief and loss, so I became angry at the world and food became my friend...always there to comfort, stuff and make me feel like the hole in my heart will filled. Took me many years to understand that it was my stomach that I was filling, not my heart. Dealing with undiagnosed depression led me to a vacation with a friend of mine, here to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where I walked the beach and made up my mind to make changes. Having lost the same hundred pounds several times through the years, putting it all back on PLUS...you know the drill. In any case, years after that, and my divorce, made the decision to move here, because I love this area so much.
I feel fortunate to have found this group years ago and to have learned so much from the interactions of all of the members and leaders. Like everyone else, I've had to come to terms that the journey is different for each of us, and at times it feels like one step forward, two steps back. But, the secret is to keep trying and to take joy in the small victories, as every step where you're working towards a goal, is a success. It would be so much easier to just give up.
Good luck to everyone in June. Thanks for reading. If I can ever be of help to any of you, just ask.

Hello Shape Shifters! I'm Frank, a 75 year-old bachelor living in the Central Valley of California, in the town I grew up in, about 100 miles due East of San Francisco. I worked as a computer analyst/programmer for 30 years, retiring ~12 years ago now. During my years sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen, my 20/20 vision deteriorated (now I need glasses) and my body gained over 100 pounds!
I succeeded in losing 50 pounds years ago, going from 320 to 270, but then I had a problem with anemia, quit exercising, and gained it all back and then some. Almost four years ago, I started exercising again, and I'm still on that journey. I generally get in at least 2 hours of exercise daily, consisting of walking, swimming, water aerobics, tai chi, yoga, and other cardio and strength training. Apart from that, I'm pretty sedentary.
I graduated from college at the ripe old age of 34, and at that time I was jogging 2 miles every morning. I weighed 218 then, so I think 220 is a good goal weight for me, considering that I'm much older and have less muscle mass now, no doubt. My hope is to get to and maintain my weight in the 210-220 range.
Here's a summary of my rocky progress since July 10th, 2020:
Highest Weight: 330; Current Goal Weight: 220 ±5; 34.0 pounds to go...
2020:↓46.7; 2021:↓53.0; 2022:↑4.3; 2023:↑7.9; 2024:↑11.5
You can see I've been heading in the wrong direction for several years, after exceeding my goal during the first year and a half. It's hard making the commitment to exercising and eating right... into a lifetime commitment.

WELCOME @kysunflower79 !! Glad you found our team! Caught my attention with the KY in your name...I grew up in Paris, just north of Lexington, KY and graduated from WKU in Bowling Green! What part of KY are you from/in?
Please go to pg 1 of this thread and read the FAQ file and if you have questions not covered there, please ask. I encourage you to take advantage of this fabulous team as a resource...for ideas, encouragement, a gentle nudge now and again...it really can make a HUGE difference!

@Megan_smartiepants1970 I see kysunflower79 on the Shape Shifters chart and kysunflower77 on your note, but neither of those names have a profile. Can you please check to see if there's a typo or something?
I checked the registration page and found nothing related to either name. Please advise.

Walkers, please check the step challenge chart for Wk 5 of May and post your steps here so I can update the stats and announce the winners early this week. Thanks!

I'm not looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow! We had a graduation party today and I went off my plan and enjoyed myself a little too much. Tomorrow is a new day and a new week. I've been doing so good too. This is what I call self sabotage.2
