Walked a lot the past 3 days on my trip but definitely ate more than normal. Back to business in the morning. Will be focussing on protein and NEAT as well as some more productive workouts.1

I have been consistent this week with my new exercise program. I still have to get in my workout some time today, but I slept until my alarm, so I didn't have time this morning. I am now within 1.2 pounds of my goal weight. I am guessing I will hit my goal in 3-4 weeks, although lately my weight loss pattern has been I hold in a weight range of about plus or minus 2-3 pounds for several weeks, then I have a big drop only to sit in a new range of 2-3 pounds for a few weeks. I am currently in the big drop phase, so there may be more weight to come off before I hit that steady range.1

Hi all, looking forward to Fall...
My focus now... working back towards LC or maybe even keto. Shopped. Having foods onhand makes a big diff. Now to cook, and, er, eat! Lol
@rileysowner - wow, awesome you are near goal. How's the back? Can be hard to move in the goldilocks sweet spot, enough, not too much. I always think I should be able to do more than i can. Trying to rehab a wrist strain and increase grip and strength... Tough to not overdo.0 -

Thanks. I can't say that I have ever reached a weight loss final goal before this. I guess I am not there yet, but oh so close. Every time before this I have either got a major injury or slacked off so badly I put weight back on. For the last month I have not been logging to see if I can trust my hunger and satiety signals, and I have continued losing. This, for me, is one of the big advantages of a meat based Keto way of eating.
The back is doing okay. It is the nagging injury in my rib area that is more of an issue. It likely lies behind my back getting touchy when I lift weights as I can't brace the muscles in my torso properly. Going to a bodyweight exercise program has been a really good choice. I still get a good workout with my suspension straps, but I don't have to deal with lifting extra weights. I figure 4-6 weeks of this new program should be enough to allow things to heal and strengthen. The other plus is I can do this 3 days a week and not feel like I am over training. Likely, I could do it even more days a week, but progress is made during rest, so I will stick with the Monday, Wednesday, Friday workout schedule for now.0 -
Nods.... bodyweight is excellent approach!
Reminds me of a bit i read somewhere awhile back on progress... found it inspiring, and thought to share.
(There are a bunch of links, this link i picked randomly from a current search. I am not affiliated, only read this 1 page. And, not about the rest of their advice, just the progress through daily persistence as you keep going with yours.)

It's been seven weeks since I started the Carnivore diet. My weight loss has slowed down, but I'm still satisfied with my progress. I believe I've become fully fat-adapted, meaning my body is primarily burning stored fat for energy instead of glucose. As a result, I've noticed a change in my body composition. While my weight loss has slowed down, I believe it's because I'm gaining muscle while losing fat. Even though it may seem like my progress has slowed, I'm happy with the trade-off. I can see progress in my face, belly, and overall muscle tone. Although I'm satisfied with my scale numbers, my main goal is to lose my love handles. I plan to take weekly pictures to track the changes. Don’t worry I won’t share those pictures.
Results after 7 weeks (49 Days):
Tanita Scale Ratings
- Weight: 185.4 to 162.2 (-23.2 pounds) Ideal weight: 155
- Body Fat: 32.6 to 28.7 (-3.9%) Ideal BF < 25.0
- Visceral Fat Rating: 19 to 17 (-2) Ideal VF: <13
- Blood Pressure: 138/88 to 126/80 Ideal: < 120/80

So basically, I am at my goal. I eat OMAD. I had to work late on Friday, so I didn't get home until 2.5 hours later than I usually do. I hopped on the scale, and my weight was 165 exactly. So now I get to figure out the whole maintenance thing. With the success of my not logging experiment where I was still able to lose weight, I have hope that eating Ketovore will be, for me, the key to successfully doing maintenance. I still have some belly fat and likely loose skin there as well, so losing a couple more pounds might be the way I go, but my goal at this point is maintain in the 163-167 range and allow my body to get used to that.2

I love my Monday double workout days, they really help me keep from sliding off the wagon. Now if I can commit to more days like that, I can really make some progress on my size and shape. Did some core and tricep work yesterday then my yoga/tai chi style class last night. A bit sore today so committing to some biceps and a walk at lunch.1

Celebrated a family birthday Sunday going to a Sushi place. It was my OMAD for the day, and while I was out of ketosis according to my breath meter yesterday, I am heading back into it today. What amazes me, and something I am quite thankful for, is a meal like that doesn't trigger cravings in me.2

Think it takes me about 3 days to retrigger appetite, and much longer to squelch.
I also find a combo cardio followed by ST has the biggest calming impact on body and appetite as well.
Another day 1 here. Last night was a bust. Hardest time of day for me.0 -

I have been taking free eating meals throughout my journey. I eat Keto probably 95% of the days of the year, but the other 5% I will have my OMAD eating whatever is part of the meal that interests me. Those days are reserved for the various special occasions that occur through the year. I think only really early on did the cause any real cravings. After about six months, they didn't cause any at all. If anything, I crave the food I usually eat. Of course, I do focus on the things that fit with my way of eating more such as meat and the really low carb veggies, but I still have all the other stuff I desire on those free eating meals.0 -
That's really encouraging... So there is hope, eh?
I was speaking more of cravings/urges reset takes much longer after period of excess eating. I notice physical appetite usually resets about day 4ish.
Like tonight, physically enough, but... lips went yum and wanted to eat dinner all over again. Left the table and look forward to when this eases.0 -
Got in my bicep work and a very short walk yesterday, had some chores cut into my lunch hour. Weighed in and took measurements this morning for my personal Let's not wait for Fall Challenge. Setting some mini goals with rewards like I used to 8 years ago. 173 today, when I get below 170, new sneakers.
I had some better NEAT yesterday, will aim for more of that today along with squats and core work.
Food has been on point since getting back from my work trip.0 -
I got my AM workout in, however, I seem to have strained something in my hip. It is achy today. After work I will stretch it out. Good thing tomorrow is a rest day. Oh the joys of getting into good physical condition in one's 50s.0

If you have a foam roller, I highly recommend for your sore hip.
No squats yesterday but did get some core done, busy day and my intentions slipped away. Putting a big sticky note on my office door to do those squats at lunch.0 -
August was a success in my books as I not only reached my weight loss goal, but in spite of various injuries, I maintained a good workout schedule. Right now, I am a pound out of the range I want to maintain in, but that is going to be water/food weight as I have not eaten enough calories to have actually put on fat.1

Congrats on reaching your goal @rileysowner - awesome!0

Bout to head off into the wilderness camping but remember that, hey, September is tomorrow!
