Apologies Pupowl!
16th=no steps (bad weather day away)
26th=did 2 gym classes in the a.m., which equals at very least 8,000 so please use this estimate4 -
So far the week has been okay.
Yesterday was a bit bleh, since I waited WAY too long to eat and overate on some less-than-ideal foods. My dad is finally over his cold, but now I feel a little under the weather, which is both expected and kinda sucky. Even so, I woke up this morning, took my dogs for a long walk, made up some seitan (I keep dipping into low-protein territory, so I'm trying to prioritize fixing that) for easy sandwiches, and did some chores. I also have soup and casserole for the rest of the week, so if I get sick, I'll have plenty of low-effort meals.4 -

The boys were tired and cranky yesterday so I squeezed in an extra walk to calm them a little. I also walked on the treadmill for 60 minutes.
While I am enjoying the treadmill walks more than I anticipated, I'm starting to miss running. I know my hip still isn't up for it, so I'm trying to be patient. I'm also starting to worry about being prepared for a 10k race I have planned in January. I'm hoping I'll be able to get back to training next week, but we'll see. I'm not feeling to optimistic about it right now.
@Zaxa2021 I've dealt with lingering injuries in the past, so I totally feel you on this. It's tough to stay patient, especially when you're missing running. I was going to suggest biking or stationary biking if your hip can handle it, or maybe strength and mobility exercises to keep everything strong and balanced while you heal. Your body will tell you when it's ready for the next step! I also love running, moreso because its my main social activity that I look forward to each week.3 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Sleep was much better yesterday, almost 9,5 hours! Tinus came to cuddle with me around 5:00 in the morning, but I fell asleep again after that. I had a pretty long walk in the morning. The weather was great; grey, not too warm, some wind and the forest was wet and smelled amazing (except for the stinkhorns). You do have to be a bit careful now with all the leaves since they hide mud and very slippery tree roots, but I adore walking in fall. I also found a stunning orange mushroom which was awesome. After my walk I went to the grocery store and got my food shopping done. The rest of the day was pretty relaxing. I was a bit sore in the arms from my gym rings the day before because I hadn't done it in a while, but I am sure that will only be for a day or two. Happy Wednesday everyone5

Weather is FINALLY going to cool down enough to spend more time outside. It seemed like it was becoming the summer that never ends. That will give me more flexibility on when I'm able to do my outdoor walks, especially on the days that we have appointments to work around.
I'm hoping to get the Halloween 3 mile badge on Garmin today. I found out the hard way that treadmill walks don't count for that. So I'm going to try to get out for a longer walk this afternoon.4 -

Hi All
I caught up on the posts and I am sending hugs and love to those going through a difficult time. Some of those have been shared in the group and I'm sure there are some that have been unshared. The hugs and love goes out to all.
I've been MIA for a couple days - had some life stressors on my mind and heart. Also some good stuff...
My birthday was Monday! I took PTO. My boyfriend planned the most special day for me. I've been wanting to go on my first horseback ride for years. We did that together I'm looking forward to doing that again. I suggested two different restaurants - he took me to a French restaurant I've been wanting to try as well. A wonderful birthday overall - feeling very grateful (which takes away from the age I just turned...shhh)
I had my annual performance review at work yesterday. The second half of my fall semester started recently, we are in week 2. I have 44 days left until I receive my bachelor's and certificate!

Hi everyone, just checking in. I had my finger surgery on Monday. Everything went well,I have incisions on both sides of my finger. On the palm side from the base of my finger to just past the joint and on the back side from 1/2 inch from the base to the knuckle.
Hopefully we can get this finger straighter and more functional.
I have to wear a splint for 6 weeks removing it hourly for physio exercises. I didn’t know about the splinting a head of time. It is what it is though. So I’m back to 1 handing everything again, and no weight lifting for 6 plus weeks. I’ll have to find some other exercise I like in the mean time. That was my biggest issue for the previous 2 surgeries. Maybe some Nintendo switch just dance once movement doesn’t hurt.5 -

@Pupowl happy to see you updates and pictures again
@Cyncia85 Happy Belated Birthday! Glad you had such a lovely one. Must be very satisfying to be so close to that educational achievement.
@CasandraW I hope your recovery is smooth and speedy. I have been doing some just dance on the wii, had forgotten how fun it can be.
@sunshinezombiegirl1 it has been quite a few years since I went to a corn maze, great way to get steps
@DaffyGirl88 I have faith in your potluck resistance abilities, it is not futile😂
@angmarie28 glad you and yours are safe and sound and were able to find a replacement car so quickly.
@LenGray hope you are feeling better and bonus points for prepping and setting yourself up for future successes
@Zaxa2021 glad the weather is starting to cooperate with you. Have you done yoga with the boys? I think I remember hearing/reading that it can be beneficial?

@p8m6bwghh9 Wow - the snow! It's beautiful to me. It is almost 90 degrees where I live right now.
@Cyncia85 Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like you had a great day.
@CasandraW Glad your surgery is over. Prayers said that it was successful. To be one-handed for a week will be tough, but you'll be so glad when it's gone and your finger is straight again!
@DaffyGirl88 Potlucks are so tough!3 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not a very interesting Wednesday here. I was uploading a video most of the day because I played too long the evening before. That meant no walk. Ever since I got Tinus, I have been pretty paranoid and sometimes struggle to leave the house because I am afraid some sort of disaster will happen when I am not at home. I always uplug all electronics when I leave, but with the upload I couldn't do that. I got some groceries and because I had no walk to distract me, I got pretty hungry. So I had breakfast and lunch earlier than normal. I guess it also doesn't help that the winter time started here over the weekend, still need to get used to that. I did my gym rings workout in the afternoon + a 46 minute cardio workout. That did a pretty good job of distracting me and keeping me busy. With some tea and laptime for Tinus, I made it to dinner time without overeating, so yay.
In the evening I decided to delete the youtube channel I made for the horse game. It was a fun experiment, but I don't want it to interfere with my life. Also with the slow uploading, I would be looking at another year of running my computer at night. I am not sad about it, though if I had better internet, I would probably have kept going. But of course I can still play the game without making videos so I will have fun either way. Happy Thursday everyone

I didn't do too bad at the potluck. I had pulled chicken (no roll), green beans w/ onions and some sort of spinach/apple/walnut salad that was very good. I did go back for seconds but it was just more of the same thing. I avoided the mac & cheese, rolls, meatballs and all of the desserts. I also went out of my way in order to not walk past the table again the rest of the afternoon. All in all I'd consider it a win.7
