@DaffyGirl88 great job sticking with your plan
@Pupowl its to bad the horse game YouTube didn’t work out for you.2 -
@CasandraW Yeah, it's alright though. It was a bit of a hassle to be honest! Sorry to hear you have to be in a splint. And very strange they didn't inform you of that before surgery. I hope it will at least be worth it and that you get full mobility back.2

Weather is FINALLY going to cool down enough to spend more time outside. It seemed like it was becoming the summer that never ends. That will give me more flexibility on when I'm able to do my outdoor walks, especially on the days that we have appointments to work around.
I'm hoping to get the Halloween 3 mile badge on Garmin today. I found out the hard way that treadmill walks don't count for that. So I'm going to try to get out for a longer walk this afternoon.
What kind of crap is that??
Lol, it's definitely possible that it's user error. I discovered later that there is a 'treadmill' activity AND a "treadmill walking' activity. I have a sneaking suspicion that the walking one would have counted. Oh well, I did one outside that did count.3 -
@daffygirl88 - avoiding mac & cheese is a major win in my book.
@CasandraW - wishing you a smooth recovery
@PatriceFitnessPal - listing your goal with your weigh-in is inspiring to me. I recently looked at the BMI table and adjusted my goal. I'm thinking I will start including my goal with my weigh-ins. I need to figure out the timeline so it is reasonable and feasible.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, feeling special4 -
Happy Halloween Friends!

Yesterday was a pretty crappy day for me. We just found out that the children's hospital that we go to for all of our specialists failed to reach an agreement with the insurance company by the deadline, which was yesterday. So starting today, they are out of network for us. Luckily, it's open enrollment so we're switching insurances. Unluckily, we have a big appointment in December that we've been waiting for since May. Super frustrating.
We also met our new speech therapist we're getting because the other one left to have a baby. I did not like the new one at all. It just doesn't feel right, for some reason.
Anyway. None of this has anything to do with anything. I just spiraled, emotionally, and it was a rough day. However, I stayed focus on my goals and still ate according to my goals and did my exercises I planned (yoga, body weight exercises, and walking). Hopefully, today will be better.9 -

@angmarie28 - What a scary experience for you and your son — I’m so glad he’s safe! Did you have to tow the new car from Wyoming to Montana? It’s great that your family members have the skills to fix the car you bought.
@Tomsgal1985 - I’m so sorry you’re still waiting ‘in limbo’ to gain access to your house. I hope the road is cleared soon so you can get close enough to assess the damage and begin cleaning up. Congratulations for not stress-eating during this difficult time!
@DaffyGirl88 and @Pupowl - Thanks for sharing your strategies for overcoming difficult situations — i.e., the temptation of a potluck lunch, boredom when you can’t participate in your usual routine, etc. Well done! 🤩 Keep up the good work!
I hope things get better soon — @CasandraW, @Zaxa2021, and others who are working to overcoming injuries, illness, grief, and/ or other struggles. I’m sending healing thoughts and energy! ❤️🩹
@Krysless2 - Great job making mid-week corrections to finish stronger than you started!
@LenGray - Your preparation is impressive. I like the proactive approach you took when you felt a cold coming on. What a good idea to prepare healthy meals to stay on track in case you catch your Dad’s cold. I’m glad he’s feeling better and I hope you were able to avoid it!
As always, it’s inspiring to see the step counts you all report, especially the 115,284 from @angmarie28! 😉
@p8m6bwghh9 - Thanks for sharing the pretty photos. It’s interesting to see the variation in climates. You and @angmarie28 have so much snow while @Zaxa2021 and @iradi8 are experiencing such heat in the same hemisphere.
It was fun to hear about your birthday celebration @Cyncia85. You deserve a special day after all your hard work. The horseback riding is a nice way to spend time outside in nature. Animals are so soothing and I’m interested in hearing more about your plans for the future. I think I remember you are working with a horse therapy group. Congratulations on your studies!
@sunshinezombiegirl - I haven’t been to a corn maze since my sons were young but I always enjoy a good puzzle or problem to solve!
Best wishes to everyone!5 -

I’m so sorry you’re facing these bureaucratic obstacles to getting the appropriate services and supports for your sons. You said it — super frustrating! 😤🤬😖We also met our new speech therapist we're getting because the other one left to have a baby. I did not like the new one at all. It just doesn't feel right, for some reason.
I think it’s worth saying just that to your Family Services Coordinator. If it “… just doesn’t feel right …” to you, it’s probably not the best match. I hope you can get to a good rhythm soon. It’s an important but tiring process! Hang in there!Anyway. None of this has anything to do with anything. I just spiraled, emotionally, and it was a rough day. However, I stayed focus on my goals and still ate according to my goals and did my exercises I planned (yoga, body weight exercises, and walking). Hopefully, today will be better.
Of course this type of stress can interfere with our focus. I’ve been catching myself turning to food due to the stress I’m feeling with the U.S. election and caring for family members. Congratulations on staying true to your nutrition and exercise goals despite the emotional pressure! ❤️🎉❤️ You’re a great role model and advocate for your boys!

@Zaxa2021, if you have a Garmin watch, you can fix that. Garmin's default Treadmill activity is categorized as a running activity type, but you can change that. If you edit the activity, you'll notice in the upper left, right above the icon and activity title, it has the activity type. Click that and in the dropdown list, find and select walking (casual walking or fast walking), then save the change.
If you often use a treadmill for walking, you can copy the treadmill activity, rename it and change it's activity type. Then, any time you use that activity, it'll automatically be counted as walking.

Another alternative is to use the Walk Indoor activity instead of Treadmill. 🙂

Good morning Shape Shifters. I did a forest walk in the morning that I don't often do. It was nice, just a bit muddy. Didn't see many other people which I prefer and found a lot more mushrooms. The rest of the day was quiet with the usual: horse game, tea, walks/laptime for Tinus. Happy Friday everyone6

Morning all,
I haven't had a good week,as my Dance fit class has been cancelled until further notice I thought I would go to the gym or swim.I haven't been at all !! I have found that not moving every day my body is stiff & my arthritis is worse.
I also had to attend a funeral yesterday it was the father of my son's best friend. He died suddenly at 62 years. It turned out he had an underlying heart condition he was unaware of.The funeral was packed out he was a popular guy.
It just made me think don't sweat about the little things in life.Take those holidays if you can & tell your loved ones you love them often.
I hope to get my motivation ignited next week.Ive enjoyed doing the 100 challenge & noticed many Shape Shifters on there which is great. Its interesting that my weight yoyos so much even in a week !
Have a good Friday all !7 -

I indulged in a lot of sweets this week, so was expecting a weight increase. My kids brought home so many candies from trick or treating last night. It's going to be hard to stay away from them, but I'd really like to cut back on my sugar intake for the month of November, it feels like it's gotten way out of hand.
My exercise has been pretty good this week. I played hockey, cycled to work, 10K+ steps each day and have been doing a lot of raking. This weekend I am coaching two hockey practices and will be doing more raking.
Have a good weekend!4 -
Thurs steps: 12,390
@Pupowl I'll be opting out of step counting for Nov but stay reporting weight to Saturdays, is that is OK?
