Most of the day I thought it was Friday and I had to prepare for Saturday traveling. It was a nice relief when I found out it was Thursday and there is still plenty of time.

Today's yoga practice was more vigorous. The pace with which the teacher is increasing intensity is okay, I'm keeping up.

She's planting one foot in front quite often, and that's about four step process for me.

It seems like our group-mate @Sugarnspice1922 might be jumping into the challenge also, are you going to do it?

That would be great if more people wanted to join :) Days 11 and 12 are done, but my internet is super-spotty, so my updates are a little late. I'm trying my best to log and stay accountable though!

Good, I was feeling lazy and thought I'd check in here to get motivated. I see I didn't post on Friday....I did her practice "soul" I appreciated it being short and sweet.

Today, yes, give a couple get up and do it. ;)

Did it. Day 12 "Stability," I just noticed the date is "13" and the practice is day "12" I am wondering if I'm screwing it up somehow? I don't think so, because the next one has not released yet. Anyway...I am glad I did it. Today was rapid fire through a bunch of postures.

Nope, you have it right! This program started on the second, so January 31st is the last day of the challenge :) And my internet is back up, so I should be able to post consistently again ^_^

Sidenote on Day 12, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much stronger my core was in that practice!

Day 13 is done! There was some more core work today and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was falling out of the pose less often than I was last week (though I'm still convinced that whoever made that main core move she uses was a torturer in a past life) It was also really nice to get some hip stretches done, since mine have been really sore. Just two more days until the halfway point!

    Day 14 is done!

I really liked this practice. I was feeling a bit stressed/anxious this morning and had some negative derailing thoughts coming up, but when Adriene talked about about using breath to acknowledge thoughts and feelings, I began to tell myself, 'These feelings are just the configuration of the ground for me today and I will make space so I can operate within it.' It helped me to really focus in on the breathwork and, though the stressors aren't gone, I feel like I got a little distance and acceptance on those feelings.

On a less metaphysical note, I am slowly but surely quickening up my transition into the lunge. I'll keep working on it. Also, my back pain, which was awful nearly a month ago, is nearly non-existent now (it still bugs me a little first thing in the morning)

That is an aspirational move for me, I am still 1 million minus one inch miles away.

I like today's too. She's stretching it out. today was the longest session, though it was very gentle.

Tomorrow morning I'm heading home, I have to say goodbye to 77° F (26° C) warmth. I am elated I kept up my yoga practice and my Dry January through vacation. I don't think I'll feel like I need a vacation when I get home from my vacation, like I often do.

Day 15 is finished and we are halfway through the challenge! :)

I was really proud of myself for doing today's practice. I wasn't able to get the video done this morning and had almost forgotten about it, but saw my yoga mat as I was getting ready for bed. I really liked today's practice and definitely felt stronger in my lunges and warrior poses. However, I utterly failed the half-moon pose. After failing on both sides, I decided to do star pose instead. Hopefully, as I get more practice, I'll be able to pull off that move!

D15 - done. One must become one with forward lunges to hang with this teacher. I can do forward lunges, but casually flipping my foot from back all the way to the front ain't happening. It's about a three step process to me. But one positioned, I can lunge.

I like half moon pose. With my bottom hand on a yoga block I'm pretty stable. @LenGray do you have a yoga block or something else to use under your hand? Give that a try sometime.

@chris_in_cal I'll have to check. If nothing else, I know I have some pretty thick books :D

I learned it up against a wall and using a block (my style of yoga is often derides as 'furniture yoga' because we use props.)

Ooh, the diagram definitely helps with visualizing how to do that pose. I'll definitely give it a try! Turns out I don't have any blocks, but I went ahead and ordered some today, since I'd been thinking about rewarding myself for making it halfway through the challenge anyway ^_^

I guess I've been pretty lucky with my influences since all of my teachers been pretty supportive of using blocks, blankets, and other supports. I'm sorry to hear that folks have been jerks about it.

The D16 class 'Kindness' is complete. I appreciate your @Lengray thoughtfulness, and the teachers efforts to promote kindness and mindfulness. My mind was not being nice, actually being a jerk. I'll try to observe, watch it go, and not react.

I had a full nice day back at home, everything is safe, good, and comfortable. Focusing on being grateful with what I have is my plan now.

Another 30-day challenge yoga class in the books. Today I spent :30 seconds beforehand thinking that I'm grateful this person puts this out into the world for free. She's clearly doing a good job of gently leading beginners through a month of a building practice. The class ended up being interesting, I appreciate how there were some twists and a few other new things.

On my vacation day today I shoveled dirt in my garden...it was nearly 70°F (21°C) and it was really refreshing rooting around in the dirt. My back was a bit stiff, so the gentle twists in the yoga class were nice.

@chris_in_cal Unfortunately, we're just heading into our proper winter here. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can garden again and relax on the patio! I also really appreciated the twists, since I've been doing a lot of desk sitting at my job the last few days.

I ended up missing the session yesterday so I'll be playing a bit of catch-up this weekend. I think I'm just going to have to wake up earlier or do something else so that I can do the videos in the morning. This week I've been stuck with practicing in the evening and it's really hard to get up and moving after a long day, especially since I have homework and events going on.

In solidarity I missed Friday's "meditation" D18. Today, I'm going to a class in town. :90 minutes with a teacher. This has been a yoga filled month so far.

I finished today's session and will be catching up on the 'meditation' practice this evening. Onward and upward :)

I finished "inward" the D20 yoga class. It was good, all about stretching the hips. For a Sunday night I think it will help me calmly head into the next work work. I've been on holiday for two weeks, so tomorrow morning is back to the workaday world.

I did D21 yesterday. I procrastinated until it was almost bedtime, that's not how I want it to go. I'll shoot for completing today's class before the sun sets.

D22, I was able to motivate and do this soon after work. I still distracted myself for an hour before starting. Tomorrow I hope to punch the time clock then seamlessly do the practice.

I am still challenged to be accepting and grateful to the teacher. Being alone in my home with a YouTube on my monitor, it is so conducive to me thinking snarky and ungrateful stuff.

I'm glad to hear that you're keeping up with the practice and that it's helping you! :) I had to miss a few days because I was in the hospital, but I've been cleared to get started again, so I'll get back to it for this last week ^_^

A yoga day - D24. The 30 day yoga challenge is winding down. It was kind of a relaxed practice, with a bunch of ab work thrown in.

Another good yoga day, this new class I go to on Saturday morning is :90 minutes. I like the 30 day youtube yoga challenge because it is free, and I have always struggled to do a home practice. This 30 challenge is all at home.

I do love going to a studio, having a good teacher, the other students around doing their thing, and the poses are always more vigorous than I would have myself do along at my house. It's all good though.

Only four more days left of the January Challenge...

    Hi guys,

I'm only after reading all the posts on the Yoga Challenge today. I did this same 30 Flow in March and early April. I'd never done yoga before but my daughter did it in January and I thought why not give it a go because I always have tightness or pain somewhere, neck, shoulders, lower back, hips caused by sitting at my desk or biking or running. I loved it! Felt a bit silly or clumsy to start but also felt the benefits within days. I didn't want to stop so when I searched on YouTube 'Move -30 Day yoga with Adriene' was the 1st to come up and I'm on Day 11 and loving it. It's slightly harder and the sessions are 5-10 minutes longer than Flow but I'm finding it great. I've only discovered she has 9 of these 30 challenges so that should keep me going to the end of the year.

Are any of you still doing the yoga?

I wasn't doing the challenge but like to try incorporate some into my routine to improve sleep and posture.

I love yoga and am almost completely incapable of practicing yoga at home, alone.

99.9% of all my yoga has been in a class with a teacher. It's a mental thing.

Today, I did a :30 minute at home practice.

First morning in downtown Las Vegas. I got up and went to the hotel gym for :30 minutes. I'm feeling responsible.
