    ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What actually motivates you?

    Hi 👋

    I did a thing! I just finished a consultation with my heart Dr about Wygovy because it's not just for weight loss, it's for people with heart problems. Since I do have, heart failure (I forget the fancy term) they sent a referral to my insurance and to the medical weight loss clinic. Insurance depending, I may just get some help. Fingers 🤞

    @DrewsAnna That's great I hope everything goes well for you with insurance!

    @trooworld I'm sure a break in making recipes will be nice, those Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken are pretty popular, I'll have to give them a try (that you're eating them says a lot since I always love your recipes!). Poor Violet I hope the food change helps. I'm trying to cut out chicken since I just bought turkey sensitive skin food a month ago, if it's not environmental I think it's the Churu treats or the wet food they only like the gravy off of. Frustrating there's no easy way to tell! Asher was real bad last night and I went to Petco and got a spray (soon as I tried to spray it he stopped coming near me). I take Hydroxyzine to sleep and crushed some into the Churu lickable treats but that stinker knows what I'm up to as it must taste bad. I hope Violet responds fast. I looked up the vet earlier but am real busy today, I'd rather NOT take him if it'll be a guessing game (plus he's hard to catch) but don't want him suffering either. Don't knock yourself you were excited about the walking pad then your knee was worse. One thing to think of is would you use it to recover from your upcoming surgery? If so you may want to wait to sell it until after that.

    @askewcr Woohoo you're doing great!

    Hi team! Had the greenhouse this morning where we started a bunch of herbs then went to help sort through a bunch of water fountains and CDs that were donated to the charity. The woman I'm working with is letting people come in and learn about her different machines and I'm helping with both classes and sharing my machines for people to try. First class went really well, the next one is in a couple hours so I'll be heading back soon. Asher's being super hard to help right now I'm hoping he won't need a vet as money's real tight. I got a spray for him and am trying to get him to eat something with Benadryl in it but he must taste it as he stops eating as soon as he's taken a lick. Gotta run I need to check on the garden, have a great Friday!

    @DrewsAnna Yay for you! I hope you get approval from insurance!

    @Katmary71 Yes, a break is nice! The chicken strips are really good, I put them in the air fryer according to package directions. I know what you mean about figuring out the allergy--- the dogs get wet food on top of their dry, and it could be that. Ugh. Poor Asher. I bet it does taste bad lol. Violet seems much better, the Benadryl is helping. I hope you can figure out something for Asher. That's true about the walking pad but now that my knee is better, I'm not using it lol. It has to go though. That's a good point, maybe I'll wait and see. I just don't see myself using it though. That's great you can still plant stuff and have it grow during the winter.

    @Cornanda Congrats!

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What actually motivates you?
    Bad health. My extremely bad health is motivating me to make a change. I can't survive like this. I HAVE to make a change if I want to be alive in 5 years.

    Hi all. Friday is here, thankfully. I work from home and then I have physical therapy (hopefully the last appt). After that, I have a hair appointment. We may go to Sam's Club after that.

    Ice Breaker Question: What Actually Motivates You?

    Is this in response to changing my health? My real bad health memories and feeling more in control and strong enough to not need help motivate me to be healthier. I'm in too much pain every day to NOT do anything. Just from when I was slacking a month ago to now I have my blood sugar low again and am relieved I was able to do it.

    @trooworld Yay I'm glad Violet is feeling better! Asher is too, he's still grooming more than normal but he's napping and purring again whereas a few days ago he couldn't stop grooming and stayed up all night. Are you doing anything new with your hair? Good luck in PT!

    @micaroo4 I love the Did You Know? You posted, I wouldn't think that many stick to their autumn goals. I agree it IS good advice!

    @DrewsAnna That's frustrating you can't start now but I'm glad it's approved!

    Hi friends! I'm totally wiped out I went to both classes yesterday to help out with the practitioner then worked with her today. I came home and spread some compost in my yard and planted some cauliflower, took a bath, and sat on my bed and conked out for a couple hours. I'm doing good with diet and exercise, I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Have a great Saturday!

    @davors19 Congrats on the loss!

    @DrewsAnna That's great! Sorry you have to wait to start.

    @Katmary71 Me too! Oh, so glad to hear Asher is better. My hair: I got it cut the same as the past couple of times, just trimmed. Nothing new! Wow, what a busy day you had. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

    Hi all. I don't have to go to physical therapy anymore which is a relief. We didn't go to Sam's Club last night but will go by the end of the weekend. This morning, I am going with my photography club to the beaches and shoot people and things. It should be fun and good exercise. My MIL and SIL are taking us out for lunch today, we are going to a popular Mexican restaurant. I'm cooking tonight, I'm making Chicken with Coconut Kale, which has chicken breast and kale in a red curry sauce.

    This was a lousy week for me physically. Monday morning I made the [unwise] decision to get both my COVID and shingles vaccinations done at the same time. By Monday evening my arms started to hurt, and by early Tuesday morning I woke up with a fever, sweats, arm pain, throbbing headache, week legs, and major BLAHS, and couldn't get out of my recliner for about 24 hours! No exercise in a week! BUT little eating as well, which is usually the case when I'm sick! Hopefully I'll be back to my regular self and exercising by Monday!

    @trooworld I’m curious if you are having a desire to eat all your favorite foods before you face your surgery. I think I would want to eat all the things. :D

    Good morning! Not much has been happening around here. Today, I will work out, help Joe take a shower, and clean our pill containers, and then I’ll drag all my Christmas stuff in. I really don’t feel like decorating but I know I will love it once it’s done. Is anyone else decorating yet? :)

    How do you usually feel when you're under a lot of stress, and what kinds of things do you do to take care of your health during those times?

    Before I went on Zoloft in 2017, depression/anxiety/stress caused me to want to withdraw from "the world" and hide under the covers, in bed, with the lights off. I had severe nausea and constant racing thoughts in my head. I'm thankful that I had friends who made me get professional help. More thankful that Zoloft works well for me... the feeling like "the raincloud over my head" has disappeared, outweighs the problem that affects many males have with the medication. That said, when I do still get mildly stressed, I'm thankful that I "DON'T" eat at all... it's a good side effect!

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What actually motivates you?

    That's a difficult question to answer for me! For what may motivate me to do something one day, may not work ever again the next day. In losing weight: motivation increases as I'm able reach down and pick up things I've dropped (without worrying I'll lose my balance and topple over)! Not being out of breath after walking 7 steps. When personal hygiene becomes easier. Saving money at the supermarket. Understanding that my scale will show daily fluctuations in my weight, based on my retention of water... but still being thrilled when those numbers DEcrease!

    Hi, I'm not dead, but I HAVE been kinda a mess this week. I failed the November challenge. I didn't have energy to move for awhile. I'm still tracking my food, though frankly, I am not yet seeing a connection between eating healthier food and weight loss. I dipped back down four pounds from the beginning of the month after my worst eating day in months, I have no explanation.

    I'm a combination of busy with family and holiday stuff, a little depressed, and anxious trying to figure out how to successfully re-enter the job world. I'm not sure I can continue to hold my household together and go back to work. Heck, I'm not sure my disability is controlled enough to do a good job working! So yeah, my eating is a mess right now, but I have tried to up my protein and fiber.

    @trooworld I like the way your hair is now I'm sure it and you look beautiful. Congrats on being done with PT! Have a wonderful time at the beach with your photography club, what an awesome way to spend the day. What a busy day hope you have a great time!

    @baodell17724 Yikes that sounds like an awful reaction to the vaccines! Take it slow and rebuild your strength.. LOL that's a great meme the kids do look like they're about to stab someone!

    @TeresaW2024 OMG I just put your old name I haven't done that in awhile! Haha love your question to Chris I hate to admit it but I'd be doing that too eating a bunch of ice cream. I'm not decorating yet but I have the fall/Thanksgiving stuff out. I've been feeling kind of lonely lately and I think the Christmas stuff will make it worse so I'll wait until after Thanksgiving.

    @morenin I'm happy you're still here sounds like a tough week. Hugs to you that's a big decision on going back to work. We're here if you want to bounce ideas off of us!

    Let's join Jessica for the challenge! I love doing these challenges around the holidays.

    Hi friends! I went to the farmer's market to get honey, I'm going to make a honey and garlic concoction plus needed some for my tea so I got that and some fruit. I also went by the farm and harvested some holy basil to collect seeds then made a tincture with the flowers and some leaves. Got in a good workout and spent some time in the yard. I also got the cats in for nail trims, I was feeling like a bad cat mom between the way I sneak to catch Asher and his recent health issues when a woman who works with the rescue group was said they were obviously very loved and well-taken care of which meant a lot when they were both terrified and Asher has patches of hair missing. I want to finish my book tonight and need to pick out a good roasted root vegetable recipe, the practitioner is hosting a Friendsgiving wiith healthy food next week and I want my recipe to be delicious. Have a great Sunday team!

    Good morning all!
    I've had a couple of setbacks. :( Monday I had awful pain in my neck and could not move it. I went to Urgent care and got pain and steroid shots. It got better but Friday morning I started feeling that same pain. Yesterday I went to Urgent care and got more shots.

    I feel pretty good this morning but am on medications that I'm not supposed to have before my knee surgery which is set for tomorrow morning. Truth be told, the knee is better. (Crazy right!!) X Rays show I have degenerative disks in my neck. Needless to say I can't have surgery on tomorrow and will have to push it out a bit. :(

    I don't know what's going on in my life right now with these pains and stuff. Never the less I have to continue to push towards my goal of health and a healthy weight. My weight was up a bit this morning and I guess it's due to the shots. Though these storms continue to rise, I will press on and not give up. Blessings Everyone!! <3

    @baodell17724 Sorry about how you were feeling.

    @TeresaW2024 Oh yes, it's called a "Food Funeral" and I'm definitely having one lol. Thanksgiving will feature all my favorite dishes and I'm sure I will be eating stuff here and there! It is illegal to decorate for Christmas prior to Thanksgiving, according to my DH lol, so I can't decorate until the day after Thanksgiving. I envy your ability to start early!

    @Katmary71 Thank you! I did have fun but see below. You know I'm in on that challenge lol. That's nice that she said that about your kitties. That always makes me feel good when someone says something like that.

    @digger61 I hope surgery goes well. Good luck.

    @askewcr Sorry about the neck pain. That's too bad about your surgery. Hugs.

    Hi all. Well, we didn't go to lunch but I did go to my photography event. During the photography event, my knee started aching really badly but I had no choice to keep walking. I tried to stick it out but ended up turning around and leaving the group behind. I still got a lot of good shots and had fun. I didn't cook dinner, we were out and about. We also went to see one of my DH's coworker's bands play. I had to bring my cane because the knee hurt so much. Once there, we stood the whole time so that wasn't as much fun. Here's a collage of some of my shots.
