As far as the holidays, do what you feel’s best for you. I’ve had some years where I could barely decorate so I totally get it. Last year my son and his partner came home for thanksgiving but not Christmas, so I cooked, but minimally decorated. This year they will miss thanksgiving but be here for Christmas so I am planning to go out to eat for thanksgiving and then plan a more elaborate Christmas.
And give yourself permission to change your mind! You may be feeling better or find a perfect decoration and it might really improve your mood. Just be flexible!
@cre804 I'm on Threads as @jessicakrall so please send me a friend request...I'm so new on there...still finding my way around! LOL Same name on Facebook.

Hi All
I've been MIA. I've been stressed out with work and last last weeks of school. I'm at 26 days until I graduate! I'm taking 3 classes right now. I had a physics test this past Friday - it was hard! I will be working on my capstone this weekend - need to get it organized and do a gap analysis.
I met someone in April that turned into a serious relationship. We've been dealing with our conflicts as it happens in any type of relationship.
I am grateful for my guy, he has been helping me fix stuff around my place. Got some new black out curtains hung up and toilets fixed (they were running and needed new flapper). Then my car's check engine light came on - we were able to fix it in a couple hours one evening. My anxiety was so high - because I was worried about a high car repair bill.
I canceled my gym membership earlier this year to help get my finances in order. I've been working out on the trails or at home. I have a couple machines that have been unusable. I took the treadmill apart to figure out why it was feeling off. It needed an adjustment and needs to be lubricated. I also have treadclimber that I took apart to move to another room. I was unable to do it myself and left it to sit in pieces. My Aleks got the treadclimber moved and back in working order. Now we are to finish up the treadmill this weekend which will be nice. Since I don't have a gym membership right now, I will be less likely to workout on the trails because of the sun's hours and the cold weather. I am looking forward to upping my game when it comes to my at home workouts - especially some walks/jogs in on the treadmill.5 -
I stepped on the scale on Wed morning with the intention of posting. The past few days have gotten away from me.

With that, I like to check out the Merriam-Webster word of the day.

What It Means
Someone described as steadfast is very devoted or loyal to a person, belief, or cause. Steadfast is also used to describe something, such as support, that remains unchanging.
I encourage you all to be steadfast with your healthy lifestyles habits.
Is there a goal or habit you'd like to share with the group?
Something you are sticking with? Maybe nutrition goals or movement goals?4 -
@jessicakrall8 – Seeing and acknowledging those little snippets of kindness is so incredibly valuable. You really sound hopeful despite this tough time, and I hope that brings even more kindness and healing your way.
I really admire your mindset, especially the reminder that every pound lost takes 7 lbs of pressure off your joints. It’s such an important perspective! And honoring your body by easing back into the 10k steps shows incredible patience and self-awareness. Your strength and perseverance are inspiring. You're doing an amazing job—keep it up! 💪

Good morning Shape Shifters. Yesterday morning my weight was up yet again, stupid scale! My dad visited in the morning, so I didn't go for a walk. We did a bunch of shopping. I got 7 big bags of wood pellets for the litterbox, toilet paper, lemonade, socks, wrapping paper for the holidays, 6 bottles of laundry detergent, some baklava and we both got a bun with brie, walnuts and honey to eat home. I also found a very cute cat piggybank so of course it came home with me too. It was very nice to get some of the bigger things with my dad and his car so I won't have to worry about that for a long while now. It was very windy and there was rain on the way in the afternoon so I decided to have a lazy rest day. Actually, I got bored so I did a 30 minute workout. Happy Sunday everyone

~ Had lots of Ultras yesterday and like clockwork I’m up at 3am this morning. Not sure why I always wake up so early after I drink🤷🏻♀️.. Anyway, I weighed in right when I woke up 2lbs heavier but then waited and weighed in again at my regular time and this is where I landed.

Good morning Shape Shifters. We got a lot of rain on Sunday and it was never dry long enough to go for a walk. I did a 40 minute workout at home instead. Next week it is looking really rainy but I hope I can still get some walks in. My kitchen scale has been very annoying. When I turn it on, and nothing is on it, the number goes up or down. When I put something on, it also keeps changing. I tried new batteries, but that didn't work either. I need to weigh stuff like 8 times a day, so I ordered a new one. If it is on time, it will be here later today.
I did a lot of laundry and got some groceries. My mom is sleeping over again next week so I need a bunch of extra stuff. I saw they had a new vegan product at the grocery store; stroopwafels! I usually buy a package of stroopwafels for my mom and her partner, so they will get to test them. If there is a vegan alternative, I will always buy that one instead. Once I am out of baklava, I will also give them a try since they are pretty high in calories and I can't have both. I had a great spotted woodpecker in the garden for a little bit and I managed to take some pictures which was neat. Happy Monday everyone4 -

Checking in! Woke up early this morning and made some food for my dad and I since yesterday was kinda hectic and I didn't meal prep. It's a bit more effort because we're both on different diets (omni vs vegan) but I figured that having food made for both of us would decrease the takeout temptation this afternoon. I also sliced up an apple for a snack, so that should help as well. I'm not sure if I'm walking today because we're estimated to have thunderstorms all afternoon, but I'm aiming to do some low-key yoga later on today if I get a chance4

@Pupowl , and anyone else who is interested.
Here are the results of my quilt retreat. Enjoy!
A fall table runner for my kitchen table. I still need to hand sew the binding but otherwise it is done.
Three of the four pillowcases that I made.
Other blocks that I made using scraps, just a little mindless sewing. There are 8 blocks here and it takes 24 to make a quilt. I'm including a picture of what the finished quilt will look like, but I didn't make that this week. That's from a couple of years ago.
And finally, a couple of pictures of what other people were working on. All of these were made Thursday and Friday.

Happy Monday Everyone!
Just a quick pop in. This weekend wasn't too bad. I ate okay. Even though I was a bit over calories on Saturday, it wasn't a complete disaster that I have to spend several days recovering from.
I decided to take this week off from just about all exercise. I'll still do my daily walks with the kids, and maybe some gentle yoga. My hip is taking longer to heal than I would like or expected. I'm thinking I may still be putting too much strain on it, so I'm hoping resting it as much as possible this week will aid it in recovering.
Hopefully I can really fine-tune my diet to make up for it, cutting out the little extras that find their way into my mouth. I made my healthy soup for lunches this week and dinners are planned out. Crackers have been my weakness lately. Unfortunately, they are always around because they are also one of my sons' favorite thing at the moment.
Have a good week, everyone!

@DaffyGirl88 Holy cow, you all got a lot done! Thanks for sharing all the pictures, I love it. I think the table runner is my favourite. The colors are so beautiful.2
