@jessicakrall8 I think you should treat the holidays however you want to. If not decorating is what you want to do then that’s what you should do. No guilt required, and it is certainly not horrible.4

@Krysless2 You listed your steps for Fri and Sat exactly the same. Please double check if that is right. I have a Renpho scale which I really like since it tracks lots of things. Mine has batteries, but they also sell a USB version you can charge. https://www.amazon.com/RENPHO-Bluetooth-Rechargeable-Bathroom-Smartphone/dp/B07NK8LBPC4

Good morning Shape Shifters. Had a long walk, still in grey weather. Doesn't look like it will change any time soon either. Oh well, I enjoyed myself. I washed Tinus' blankets, made sure to charge my bike battery and had a lot of lazy tea times with Tinus on my lap. Thankfully he also wanted to go out a few times for a while so I got some extra steps in. When my mom called, my new watch also started buzzing like crazy. I made sure to kill those notifications right away, lol. There are some small minor things with the Huawei that can be annoying, but so far I have found a fix/workaround for them all, so I am still really happy with it. I took some pictures of Tinus because he has the best face and I feel like I haven't posted him here in a while, so enjoy. Happy Monday everyone6

...I'm yo-yoing and not seeing any real progress other than losing an inch off my butt and waist. So, I guess that's something, but not really what I was hoping.
Steps:
10/10: 2989 --Then again, when I don't walk a lot, that's probably why. But honestly, cutting calories seems to do little for me. I really hate that I have to wait another month to get in to see my doctor.7 -

@Cyncia85 Thanks for asking...it was a rough week...emotional, very painful and yet there were little snippets of kindness here and there that brightened each day...found new support on Threads, now that I've left X (formerly Twitter)...had great conversations with my boss and several colleagues at work. I've been working very hard on my nutrition and it's going well. I keep reminding myself that every pound I lose takes 7 lbs of pressure off my joints and that keeps me going. Had two days this week that were better than the rest (Thu/Fri) and am trying to do a little more movement, either in Strength exercises (neck, arms and shoulders) and walking when I can, but trying not to push too hard. Until I get another 10-15 lbs off I'm not going to push for 10k steps a day again. I have to build back up slowly, but it's so hard when I miss it so much. Again, appreciate you checking on me...and @pupowl too...it's getting better. Two more weeks to get through and then I have a week off...
General question for everyone...Is it horrible that I'm going to treat the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) as regular days? Don't get me wrong...I'll be thankful and prayerful, but I'm not putting extra money or decor into it...just going to love on Betty, cook at home and just enjoy "me" time. All of my family are 10+ hours away...just going to be quiet and reflective this year...
Jessica
It was a rough week for me as well. Feel free to send me a friend request and we can link up in Threads or Bluesky.
As far as the holidays, do what you feel’s best for you. I’ve had some years where I could barely decorate so I totally get it. Last year my son and his partner came home for thanksgiving but not Christmas, so I cooked, but minimally decorated. This year they will miss thanksgiving but be here for Christmas so I am planning to go out to eat for thanksgiving and then plan a more elaborate Christmas.
And give yourself permission to change your mind! You may be feeling better or find a perfect decoration and it might really improve your mood. Just be flexible!

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a bit of a slow start to the day. I got groceries and later in the morning it was time to go to vet again with Tinus. He was very good for his shot this time; didn't move a muscle and no meows either. He got extra treats when we got home of course! I planned not to walk because it was supposed to rain a lot and because of the vet appointment. Of course the morning was sunny the one time I couldn't go out! I managed to get in a tiny walk after we came back from the vet. The rain was supposed to be here around 12:30 so I just didn't have a lot of time. But I didn't mind. I don't have a minimum time when it comes to my walks; just being outside, moving and getting fresh air is very valuable. So 30 minutes is great, 2 hours is great; it's all great! I also got some cleaning done and I did my gym rings workout in the afternoon.
My food is still going very well. The only thing I am not happy to consume now is my protein shake. It is cold and the last thing I want is a cold drink. I kind of need it though since it's a lot of protein for very little calories. I am currently on the banana flavour which shouldn't last much longer. Then I will switch to chocolate again since I like that one a lot more. I might also try it with lukewarm water. Maybe that will be better, though that also sounds kind of gross. Happy Tuesday everyone6 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. We got a lot of rain on Monday, so yesterday the forest was very muddy and slippery. I had a pretty decent walk though and enjoyed myself as usual. I left my camera home which I didn't regret thankfully. I tried the protein shake with warm water and it was disgusting, lol. When I get new money in a week or so I will order the chocolate flavour which should help. I figured out some other high protein food that I will get from the grocery store today. I don't want to suffer through more of the cold banana shake. It is a little higher calories, but I can reduce a snack so it works out. I did a bunch of reading and gaming; the usual! Happy Wednesday everyone5

Not the way I wanted to hit lower numbers, my average calories for the past week have been around 800 a day, NO BUENO! I had a post surgery appointment yesterday and everything is looking good and I’m starting to reintroduce different foods today. Plan to restart chair yoga tomorrow and get back on a more balanced approach. Slow and steady has been working so far, just need to keep on keeping on 🙂.
It’s 2F/-16C right now. Who doesn’t love a good hoarfrost, especially if you don’t have to go outside?
Have a great hump day
