@jessicakrall8 I think you should treat the holidays however you want to. If not decorating is what you want to do then that’s what you should do. No guilt required, and it is certainly not horrible.

@Krysless2 You listed your steps for Fri and Sat exactly the same. Please double check if that is right. I have a Renpho scale which I really like since it tracks lots of things. Mine has batteries, but they also sell a USB version you can charge. https://www.amazon.com/RENPHO-Bluetooth-Rechargeable-Bathroom-Smartphone/dp/B07NK8LBPC

    No intentional exercise.

@jessicakrall8 I think your plans for the holidays are wonderful, and an excellent way to celebrate.
Congrats to the step challenge leaders, I always start hearing “Here comes the highstepper…” when the numbers are posted 😂.

@Beautiful pictures this week @Pupowl and @PatriceFitnessPal ...thank you so much for sharing your gifts...

@Cyncia85 Thanks for asking...it was a rough week...emotional, very painful and yet there were little snippets of kindness here and there that brightened each day...found new support on Threads, now that I've left X (formerly Twitter)...had great conversations with my boss and several colleagues at work. I've been working very hard on my nutrition and it's going well. I keep reminding myself that every pound I lose takes 7 lbs of pressure off my joints and that keeps me going. Had two days this week that were better than the rest (Thu/Fri) and am trying to do a little more movement, either in Strength exercises (neck, arms and shoulders) and walking when I can, but trying not to push too hard. Until I get another 10-15 lbs off I'm not going to push for 10k steps a day again. I have to build back up slowly, but it's so hard when I miss it so much. Again, appreciate you checking on me...and @pupowl too...it's getting better. Two more weeks to get through and then I have a week off...

General question for everyone...Is it horrible that I'm going to treat the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) as regular days? Don't get me wrong...I'll be thankful and prayerful, but I'm not putting extra money or decor into it...just going to love on Betty, cook at home and just enjoy "me" time. All of my family are 10+ hours away...just going to be quiet and reflective this year...

    Jessica

It was a rough week for me as well. Feel free to send me a friend request and we can link up in Threads or Bluesky.

As far as the holidays, do what you feel’s best for you. I’ve had some years where I could barely decorate so I totally get it. Last year my son and his partner came home for thanksgiving but not Christmas, so I cooked, but minimally decorated. This year they will miss thanksgiving but be here for Christmas so I am planning to go out to eat for thanksgiving and then plan a more elaborate Christmas.

And give yourself permission to change your mind! You may be feeling better or find a perfect decoration and it might really improve your mood. Just be flexible!
