I like the premise of this group very much but I wish there was greater participation!!!! Unfortunately, there is still a great deal of negativity and judgement in the fitness world regarding the use of GIP/GLP-1 and GLP-1. This could be a great place (and a safe place) to chat about our ups and downs on this journey.

I agree! I have been using a compounded semaglutide since February of this year and I’m down 40 lbs. with 30 to go. It’s slow but I don’t mind. I just started being open with everyone about it since others are noticing my weight loss. I don’t feel ashamed about my method of treatment because my doctor wanted me in statins and that made my joints hurt so I decided if I had to take medication, I’m going to take something that will help me lose weight which will help me long term in different ways. I feel completely comfortable with my decision. Wishing you much success on your journey!1

@deewip 40 lbs so far! That’s fantastic!!!! Which compound are you using? I’m on Zepbound 2.5, the introductory dose. With my next injection I will start the 5.0. Dose. I haven’t had any problems so far. I’m absolutely amazed at how I have no interest whatsoever in eating. I was struggling to drink enough water in the beginning, but I flavor it now and it’s no longer a problem. I started October 23 and so far I’m down 12 pounds. I’m sure a lot of that was water weight and I will probably slow down going forward but it sure is a nice incentive! I’m paying a lot for mine because Medicare won’t cover it even though I have heart failure. Now that it’s open enrollment I’m looking at all the available plans to see if I can find one that will cover the medication even though I am not diabetic. I understand diabetics have an easier time getting approval.
Are you going through your doctor or through an online compounding pharmacy?0 -
Ug 🥴 I gained a pound!!!!! 💦 Intellectually I know weight always fluctuates a bit, emotionally I’m sad. That’s definitely something I have to work on! It’s a stupid mind set to have!0

Try not to worry. I would circle a bit. But I just figured since I have to be on this all the time I’m ok in it taking all the time I need and sure enough now I am at 40 lbs. It was actually my dr. Who suggested and sent a prescription to a local compounding pharmacy here in AZ but they don’t ship to other states. Let me know if you use one that is online because my son is checking out Hims but they don’t have a lot of info on their site and it’s hard to contact them0

I use the online site called Shapely but they are expensive. Their compound pharmacy is in Florida. I’m in California. I pay 250.00 a month for Zepbound and “membership” Semaglutide is cheaper but Zepbound was a better choice for me after discussing it with my cardiologist. I really should look around and compare prices since there are so many online pharmacies.0

I think that’s just how Zepbound is. I pay $250 for semaglutide but they said the Zepbound would be a lot more. I just have to pay a copay for my dr. Visit each month.1
