    @kgradinette Welcome to Mission Slimpossibles, jump right in! We do member introductions at the start of the month so you'll be able to get to know us that way too. We're glad you're here!

    @Cornanda Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your son being there and have a wonderful time!

    @TeresaW2024 Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    @askewcr Happy Thanksgiving!

    @gemwolf110 Happy Thanksgiving!

    @FuskiaKat Happy Thanksgiving! I can see you tearing around on that trike through fall leaves!

    @trooworld Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving! Oh that next shopping trip after surgery will feel amazing I can't wait to watch you happily buying new clothes.

    @19shmoo69 Happy Friday, how have you been doing? I miss hearing more out of you!

    Hi team! Had a nice Thanksgiving at my Mom's friend's house, my Mom had kept saying I had a lot in common with her friend's daughter and it was my first time meeting her, we are oddly alike and may do a mom/daughter hangout day sometime soon. My Mom and I have a weird relationship so we'll see, not going to get my hopes up. My stomach has been upset from all the food I'm not used to and I've been hanging out at home aside of checking on my garden. I did decent last night too eating one plate then dessert so while way over calorie-wise I didn't stuff myself. I started reading The Book of Witching which is good o far. I'm hoping to keep the few pounds I lost in the last month off me which will be a challenge just starting steroids. Have a great Saturday team!

    I've done really well with the 5% challenge- and my lean protein and veggies. This week, I took a break and ate normally. I didn't over do it, but my weight crept up a bit before Thanksgiving, and then of course another jump after. I feel like one week has messed up 6 weeks of work. Ugh. Not sure what to do next, but what I will NOT do is wallow and eat lousy. And I need to stay out of the leftovers and the pie!

    Thanksgiving was nice- turkey came out good and had a nice visit with my son. Yesterday, I put up a good amount of Christmas decorations. I need to finish that today, do some cleaning and shopping and a few other things.

    I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!

    @19shmoo69 - what the heck is turquoise Friday?! I hope your son is doing better. I miss you too.

    @Katmary71 It was! Thank you. <3 That's great you had a good Thanksgiving as well and possibly met a new friend!

    @Cornanda Sorry about the gain but it is understandable. What is the 5% challenge? That's great you are doing well on it. I'm glad the turkey came out well and you enjoyed the day.

    Hi all. I had a good day yesterday. We went for coffee in the morning and then attempted to go to the mall. BUT...mission not accomplished: the line to get into the mall parking lot was taking forever and I had something to do at 4 so we gave up and will try again today. After my 4 pm appointment, we went for a drink and appetizers at a restaurant that we had heard about. Apparently, we didn't hear much about it because we didn't know it was a vegan restaurant! But it was really good and I would go back. Today, lots of running around. I plan on going to the art supply store for Small Business Saturday.

    I had a great day yesterday. My nieces, whom I call "The Sweet Potatoes," (9 and 11) spent the day with us and we put the Christmas tree up and cleaned downstairs. I let them do 98% of it so they were able to say "they" put the tree up. <3 They were super excited and so was I. They said it was the best day ever and that blessed me tremendously. They cooked their own lunch, we watched "Is It Cake?"on Netflix, and we played some card games. I ate the rest of my plate that I brought home from my husband's family's Thanksgiving gathering and it was good. I feel good today and I pray everyone else has a wonderful day. It's cold here but so beautiful. Blessings!! B)

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: In the grocery store, do you go to the self-check or to a cashier?
    I've always thought people want to get out of the grocery store as quickly as possible, so it's a mystery to me to see a line of customers waiting for an available self-check register. While at the very same time, there's a perfectly good cashier - with a bagger - and no line. Why would anyone want to scan and bag their own groceries? The store isn't paying the customers $15/hour to go through self-check. The only time I'm in the self check is if there's one available right now, there's a line at the regular cashier, and I've only got a handful of items (like 5).

    Hi 👋 I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, mine was great, we had a big gathering like we haven't had in years. It was wonderful. Lol.... now for the bad side, I gained 2 lbs for Thanksgiving and it was still there this morning. Grrrr.... but I knew it would happen.

    The wegovy side effects have been a lot better. I did my injection Tuesday instead of Wednesday and I felt great on Thanksgiving day.

    Tomorrow, I'm going to see Cindy Lauper in concert over in Seattle. I'm excited, I used to dance around all over the place to her songs. "Girls just wanna have fun" is my ringtone for my sister. This will be fun. My sister will be disappointed because I have been for warned that drinking and Wegovy don't mix, so there'll be no drinking for me.

    I think that's about all I have for right now, if I think of anything else, I'll just have to come back, lol.... 😉😋

    Y'all have a great day 😀

    It depends, if I only have a couple items then yes, it's faster. If I've been shopping for awhile, then I'll go to the check out line, so they can do it for me.

    Hello my lovelies. I seem to get all involved in a project and don't check in here. So here is my quick update.
    Winter has arrived with a vengeance! It is so cold outside that I actually have to put jackets and boots on my pups just to take them out for a quick pee.
    I have Been busy with dogs, grandkids, my mother and cleaning out the basement. My basement is 75% cleaned out. I actually went and bought paint for my ceiling today. I am afraid that I haven't been to the gym much, between agility and my basement I am just keeping my head above water.
    I will try to check in again tomorrow, and really try to catch up on some of your posts.

    @trooworld- 5% challenge is a different MFP group I joined. It ends this week. we'll see where I land on results after Thanksgiving. I am excited to take my measurements again.

    Self check or cashier check? I get groceries from Walmart, and most of them around here have very few cashiers so I'd rather self check. This also allows me to bag the items the way I want them.

    @askewcr That sounds like a wonderful day of making memories with your nieces.

    @digger61 Congrats on the loss!

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: In the grocery store, do you go to the self-check or to a cashier?
    I'm with you on going to the cashier, Mica. I always prefer to let the cashier ring me up: they are quicker than me and they get paid. I WILL go to the self-checkout if there is a line at the cashier. Funny story: on Friday, I was buying 2 Amazon gift cards for my niece and nephew and that is all I had in my hand. The lady in front of me had a huge cart stuffed with items. I was secretly hoping she would let me go ahead of her but of course, I did not ask. Well, she said, "Is that all you have?" and I said yes. Then she asked what method I was paying? Check? Cash? I said I was paying with a debit card and I am getting a book of stamps. She said, "Oh no, I'm sorry but I'm not letting you go ahead of me." I was so fried lol. It only takes two seconds for the cashier to get the book of stamps out of their drawer and ring it up! This lady couldn't wait two seconds for me but made me wait for her whole basket to be rung up lol. I couldn't go through the self-checkout with gift cards and so I had to wait as that was the only cashier open.

    @DrewsAnna I hope you enjoy the Cindy Lauper concert, that should be fun!

    @laurelfit57 I would hate that weather lol. Yay for your progress on the basement!

    @Cornanda Ah yes, now I remember! It's the group that everyone was having such problem/confusion with. I hope you lost in measurements. That's a good point about bagging items the way you want.

    Hi all. We went back to Macy's in the morning yesterday and it was like night and day, we had no problems getting in or parking. DH was able to get what he needed and I was able to return the stuff for my MIL and myself. I went to a coffee shop and did a lot of reading and people-watching. There was a lot to see as it was very busy around the area for Small Business Saturday. I wish I had brought my camera as there were interesting people walking by the coffee shop. We went down to Little Italy to go to the art supply store and got what I needed from there. Then, we decided to go to one of the local restaurants for appetizers and drinks. I had an Aperol spritz, which is a really refreshing orange-flavored Italian alcoholic beverage. We got some meatballs and some calamari and it was fun. My knee was hurting all day yesterday, I had to use my cane the whole day.
