@Katmary71 I'm so sorry, I completely forgot to weigh in! My other group went on break and it messed me up and my workout machine broke, which has put me in a funk and I've been eating my feelings.

@laurelfit57 Thanks! I honestly don't have much willpower either this time of year. The pups at class togeher are too cute!

@Cornanda We HAVE talked about the organ so weird you played too! It sounds like we had the same teacher I had an older teacher who was real boring I didn't care for. The last couple years I played my parents found a younger teacher who let me modify songs, she was the best but her family went on tour and she stopped teaching so I ended up quitting. Do you still have an organ?

@trooworld Thank you! Holy cow I didn't know any protein drinks came with that much protein that's impressive! Your last two outings for food sound delicious. While it's true your diet going forward will change that's a tough challenge to be surrounded by a Christmas feast right after starting it. Will there be a sit-down dinner that night? I'm hoping not as that could feel awkward. If there is and you can't go in the other room and read maybe you can have a real good tea at that point to keep you busy? I'd love to go in the other room and read if I were you but that's a little anti-social too. Keep remembering your why (still think that's real hard I'm sorry). Your Ethiopian food looks delicious!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yay I'm so happy about Hunter getting approved that's wonderful! I bought a sampler from Tiesta on Black Friday, I'm planning to put a few in Christmas stockings like Earl Gray crème to my Mom and Ginger Sweet Peach to my SIL. Not sure if I'll give more or keeo the rest there's Merry Cocoa Cherry, Sexy Hot X-Mas, Nutty Almond Cream, Tiramisu Coffee Black Tea, Fireside Spice, and Peppermint Cocoa. It's the 2 ounce samplers, I feel like I should give 2 more but not sure which ones. You feel about the exit interview as I do especially since the exact same letter was sent to the other person who resigned. That's amazing about what happened with your Dad being in the hospital, I'm so glad you two were able to reconnect!

@gemwolf110 I love seeing your beautiful pack! You must have a seriously great vacuum to handle all that hair! I'm a little resigned to always having hair everywhere and I just have two cats. I hope you're back in the gym soon taking classes.

@TeresaW2024 I hope you get everything done today and that workout room has space for you. Funny that's true about emailing invites these days. Chances are the parents may be the only ones who may want to save a physical copy (I have mine in a baby book).

@bethanie0825 You'll get it back down hang in there!

@lisalisa123 No worries just logged it. I think Lauren already tallied the weigh ins so it's too late for it to count in that but it's logged and will count for next week, She forgot to put you as a “No Weigh In” so I don't have to report it thanks for getting it to me! Oh no is your machine fixable? It's awful how easy it is to struggle when a few things change such as not logging and not being able to do the same workout. Covid threw me not being able to go to the gym but I think my pain condition coming out of remission then losing the feed have been the hardest to get through. There's a lot of fun Christmas Challenges on YouTube, I'd be happy to post them if you're interested.

All caught up sorry for not being around too much the last few days! Dinner out with friends went real well, the charity friend who also resigned snuck and told them it was our friend's birthday. We were in the trolley and got to sing happy birthday to her, there was a kid behind me singing as loud as he could and we couldn't stop laughing. We did vent some but plan to go out once a month now and stay friends. Friday I took my neighbor a picture of her cats in a 2024 ornament frame, she was so touched and surprised it was worth the effort. I'm currently watching her cats as one need thyroid compound medicine rubbed in his ear every 12 hours plus they need extra love and food. The garden club party was a blast, afterward my SIL and I met at the farmer's market to buy two aunts that are in town mushroom growing kits. We went to my parent's house where the aunts are visiting and all put up decorations together and got the tree all done. The one negative was we get the tree decorated and my Mom turns to my SIL (honestly she's like the dream daughter she's always wanted) and thanks Tracy for all her help and ignored me and her two sisters that were helping. I pointed out how incredibly rude that is and my aunts seconded it. I'm not going next year, my SIL felt bad but she didn't do anything wrong it's not her fault my Mom is like this. It's tough when everyone else is close, I told myself not to do it again after last year when the same thing happened. Drives me nuts when my MOM taught me not to leave people out too.

Have a great Sunday night and Monday!

One of my friends sent me Fitness with PJ's 12 Days of Christmas Challenge, they come to your email but are also on YouTube, it's the videos snowflakes in the left corner on her channel and it's about 6 days in (didn't do yesterday's). I can't stand very long but am trying, her channel has a pretty good variety of stuff if anyone's looking for something different. https://www.youtube.com/@FitnesswithPJ/videos

@Katmary71, how nice to get your neighbor a special ornament for her kitties! :) Ugh, that's a bummer about your mom's behavior, and your poor SIL must have felt so awkward.

@trooworld Why are you making broth instead of buying it? I heard Kettle & Fire is a good brand. Good luck with starting the liquid diet. You can do it!! :)

Good morning! This is just a quick check-in before I go work out. There's not much going on today other than staying inside because it’s cold and rainy. I’ll probably spend most of my time today at the computer working on my to-do list. The church approves the budget next week, and I can’t wait to be done with that chore for the year. Have a great day! :)

Pretty sure the weight is just water weight going up and down. I just wish it would settle on down! Trying to at least stick to calories, mostly. With the holiday season and poor planning, it's not always working out.

@19shmoo69 If you got a reminder before I could delete your name in the weigh in needed please disregard it, I deleted it once I saw it. Hey for last week 243 is logged are you sure it was 241?

@Cornanda You rock check you out in 2nd place by percentage for last week! I just thought of something funny I'm wondering if we may have had the same organ books since we both had boring teachers!?

@Cornanda @vegan4lyfe2012 @baodell17724 Way to go team top winners!

@trooworld You're welcome! I was just thinking of how much I loved cigarette breaks to regroup but don't take up smoking just to get away. Thanks my Mom's a tough one. The pasta adventure sounds delicious. Is today day one of chicken broth? I see it's tomorrow, hope it goes well! First day seems to always be the toughest you got this, you got all of us cheering you on.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! My brother's family and I go for walks after dinner when we're at my folk's house, Tracy apologized to me for it and I told her I also think she's amazing which isn't the problem. This happened last year too I'm just going to not go anymore. Great job getting the workout in, hope the to-do list is shorter now.

Hi team! Super worn out tonight, work was good but I'm just super tired. I went to a store hoping to get a few gifts I'm struggling to pick but just ended up with a magnet for my SIL's stocking. I want an amber piece of jewelry for the practitioner I'm working with and am having a hard time finding what I want. Haven't been eating well I'm trying to at least maintain through Christmas but kinda fell off the wagon after The Spaghetti Factory. Have a great Tuesday friends.

@Katmary71 it was probably 243. I couldn’t remember or find it anywhere. This iPhone version isn’t much better than the android version. The progress still showed the 230’s and I know I type it when it changes up or down. Plus I’m always have to “manage my cookies” . It’s such a hassle. I’ve emailed support. They “know about it “.

    Good morning Slimpossibles!
We had rain last night, which changed to ice, and then to snow. I've got some scraping to do to get the ice off the car windows. The walk and driveway are icy too. I may hold off trying to clean the pavement, as they are predicting more Wintery Mix for tonight, and then 60° tomorrow with pouring rain. The rain and warm temperatures tomorrow will remove all the snow. I'll just have to be careful for the next 24-36 hours walking to and from the car.

So it's going to be indoor workouts today. And decluttering, which is my annual winter project. Also will start wrapping the Christmas gifts that I've purchased so far, and see what more shopping is needed.

@Katmary71 Have you looked on Etsy for the Amber jewelry? It’s so hard to eat well at this time of year. I’m just trying not to gain any more! :D

@trooworld Ugh about the vertigo but at least you know how to manage it. How have your migraines been lately? I’m glad you enjoyed your last meal, and you will crush the liquid diet. Just keep your eye on the prize! :)

Good morning! It’s another gross rainy day, and Joe has a doctor’s appointment, and I need to go to the office. This evening, our church’s equivalent to the Girl/Boy Scouts is having its award ceremony, and I was asked to attend, but with an 80% chance of rain, it’s not happening. I would have to take Joe and he doesn’t even want to go. I do hate feeling guilty about letting my friend who wanted me there down, but I have to do what I know is right for Joe and me. Have a good day! :)

What challenges do you find most difficult to manage when it comes to maintaining your weight during holiday celebrations?
My challenge is my sister and my lack of willpower with the crap she brings home! :D Honestly, my weight has been such a struggle this year, and with three more weeks left, I don’t care other than trying not to pack too much more on. I’m working on my plan for the New Year. ;)

Anything with food! Parties, cookie exchanges, etc. Exercise can be difficult because of short amount of daylight and the winter weather - but that's not because of the holidays, that challenge will be all winter long.

Quick check in my friends. I am not sure if I posted about this..
Where I do agility, they are moving to a new space and it is massive! The owner had definitely outgrown the old space and the new space is huge and it was a dump! The space itself will be great, it just had tenants in it for 20 years it looks like we're hoarders. I have been helping out over there as much as I can. Shauna, the owner has always been so generous with her time and knowledge, it is nice to be able to get back.
Between my basement and the new place it has been busy lol. In the evenings still working on pictures .
I can see an end to my basement clean up which is nice, then I'm hoping the emotional eating will end.
Hope everybody is having a great week!

@gemwolf110 – I’m so sorry to hear about the diagnosis with your bichon. What is her name? Love the pictures of the furries 😊 They are beautiful!

@trooworld – I bought a small yearly planner and I’m writing down things like how I’m feeling or if there were any stressors for the day and how I responded. Using that to keep my emotional eating in check. I am so sorry about your relationships with your father and brother. It’s important for your mental health to steer clear if needed. How are you feeling about the upcoming Christmas dinner with your in laws? For some reason, I thought your husband was more supportive of the upcoming surgery. Seems like maybe he’s sour of the fact that you won’t be able to join in with him on some things since a lot of your time together involves walking and coffee shops? And it seems his love language is cooking. I hope I’m not overstepping with my observations. Please don’t think I’m being rude. I just want you to be well supported in this journey. And today starts the liquid diet. You’ve got this, my friend!

@Katmary71 – Definitely keep that Nutty Almond Cream for yourself! I love that one so much that I have the huge refill bag! Tastes just like Apple Jacks cereal! The Fireside Spice is good, but weak. So use a heaping teaspoon for that one. I love the Earl Grey de la Crème, too. I have the Ginger Sweet Peach, but haven’t tried it yet. Other faves from Tiesta are Fruity Paradise, Pomegranatopia, Passion Berry Jolt (smells bad, but tastes yummy), Ceylon, Blueberry Wild Child, Sour Green Apple (iced), Limeade Livin’ and Strawberry Samba Mate (beyond yummy!). I’m so glad you were able to have a fun dinner with your friends and you planned to continue. Friendships are so necessary. I’m so sorry your mom did that to you and continuously treats you poorly. Hugs ☹

I have been kicking butt with staying on track. I am trying my best to keep the momentum going. Yesterday I took Syd & Oliver to Grand Rapids for another gene check for him and on the way back, Syd wanted to stop at Anna’s House, which has a great vegan section in the menu. I splurged on a breakfast bowl, knowing I would take it easy with dinner calories. In the evening, Hunter & I went to the gym. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and then the weight circuit. Felt great (other than my knee and ankle hurting, which is typical) and went home super hungry. I snacked on baby carrots while we made dinner – portobello fajitas with tofu sour cream and carb conscious street taco sized tortillas. Only 100 calories for each fajita 😊 Other than the Anna’s food, everything else I’ve eaten has basically been whole foods (if you count tofu and olive oil…if you don’t, then phooey on you).

What challenges do you find most difficult to manage when it comes to maintaining your weight during holiday celebrations?
I’m good at telling people that I don’t want things like pie or cookies. But if I look at the food too long, I say, “Screw it” and then just eat it. I can’t remove everything from my sight, so I have to figure out a better way to ignore it all. Tea helps a lot. I had bought a lot of Tea Drops a while back in dessert flavors – Orange Cinnamon Roll, Ginger Peach Cobbler, Strawberry Shortcake, and Aloha Pineapple. They are only 25 calories each, so I will start carrying some with me in my purse 😊 Thanks for making me think about this and talk myself into an answer!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

    2025 is MY year!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you for the tea review I'll definitely keep the Nutty Almond Cream! Funny you named ones I really want to try like Pomegranatopia and Blueberry Wild Child. Did you try samplers or try one at a time? Is Syd vegan too? Great job hitting the gym, you did awesome last night! Those tea drops are a great idea! I need to look for those!

@laurelfit57 That's exciting about a new agility space I can't wait to see it! I'm glad there's an end in sight with the basement, hang in there you got this!

@TeresaW2024 I HAVE been looking on Etsy and Amazon for a pretty amber piece, I'm being super picky (Amazon has some weird sizes like a 6 inch bracelet and a 12.5 inch necklace and that's so small it's totally confusing). Ugh sounds like the kind of day to just stay home if you can but you can't. I agree with you, you and Joe come first so please don't feel guilty.

@gemwolf110 I think I forgot to comment on your bichon, I hope the conditions will be manageable and she does well with treatment.

@19hmoo69 Ok thank you! When I was weighing daily I never remembered what I was a week before, no worries. Are you able to come on a laptop or desk computer? I agree using the phone to come on is challenging. Now that the IT team isn't managing the feed you'd think they could upgrade the forums where we could post pics in forums and groups from phones too.

@trooworld Day one is almost done woohoo! You definitely WILL survive! As for amber I'm leaning toward a cognac amber bracelet or necklace. I stumbled across a pretty copper leaf pendant too but not sure she'd like it (it does speak to me for her though). The stuff on Amazon comes in 12.5 inches for necklaces (a few people who purchased posted and it looks like maybe they're 23 inches in actuality so doesn't make a lot of sense then bracelets are mostly 6 inches which is a kid size. I spent about 3 hours on Etsy last night looking. The woman who does ionic foot baths recommends wearing amber after them to help with detoxing so I was thinking since Yvonne still sees her it would help. Oh no I'm sorry to hear about the vertigo! Oh good it's not a straight liquid diet you get a little substance in it too but I'm sure your body will be wondering what the heck around dinnertime!

WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU FIND MOT DIFFICULT TO MANAGE WHEN IT COMES TO MAINTAINING YOUR WEIGHT DURING HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS? Eating healthy and getting back to being healthier after not eating healthy. I love baking and it's hard not to eat it. It would be fine if it was just a one-day celebration.

@micaroo4 Yikes sounds cold in your neck of the woods! Definitely be careful walking on the snow. Hope your indoor workout and decluttering goes well! Do you usually declutter during winter?

Hi friends! Had a lazy day today after my workout, I was hoping to get some more shopping done but I'm having trouble making up my mind. I want to at least get all the family gifts done as the friend ones and stockings will be harder. I roasted a bunch of veggies I'm planning to eat for the rest of the week. Have a great Wednesday gang.

@katmary71- I do not have an organ now. I've been thinking about getting a keyboard or trying ukulele- maybe when I retire and have more time. So funny that we have this in common. That is not nice that your Mom said that. Hugs to you. I'm going to have a look at that YouTube Channel- thanks.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - they got approved!!!!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY!

@trooworld - will be thinking of you as your start on your surgical journey. My husband gets vertigo and it's not fun. Hope yours was mild.

@laurelfit57 - that's great about the new agility space!

@TeresaW2024 - I bet you will be glad when the budget is done. That sounds like a big, bad piece of your job.

A little too much horsing around this week- met DS for dinner on the weekend, and yesterday was a Christmas lunch for work. Will have to see what being good the next few days can do for my weigh in.

As far as Christmas temptations- I love to bake- but find that "the law of diminishing returns" applies to baked goods- they are delicious at first, but not as tasty with each additional helping- as that special feeling of a treat has worn off. So, I try to limit the amount of treats that I make.

On the weekend, I gave Gus a very short haircut, then I put his Christmas PJs on. (honestly, he is not a dog that likes being dressed like a doll, but DD keeps buying him clothes) Anyway, after that, we found him here- he has never done this before-

@Katmary71 and @vegan4lyfe2012, at first, I didn’t care about your tea talk, but then I was vaguely interested, and this morning, I have several flavors sitting in my Amazon cart! :D I need to buy a tea infuser thingy. Any recommendations?

@Katmary71 Always frustrating when you know exactly what you want to and then can’t find it. I hope you will be able to find something you like before Christmas.

@Cornada Yup, the budget is a pain, but at least we pay a guy to input it into my church software, so I don’t have to learn that part. I just have to sit and listen to the guy chit-chat instead of working. :D Gus looks so cute! <3

@trooworld, I’m glad you did OK with your first day on the liquid diet. Getting in so much protein is the key to helping you get through the day. The Christmas party will be great practice for you. So many of us with food issues always have such a hard time because of the food at these parties. You will have a great opportunity to see how it feels to focus on the people, have a good time, and ignore the food table. Do your co-workers know about the surgery? Are they supportive? I hope! :)

Good morning! Today, I will do a good workout and try to offset the dinner I’m making tonight. Joe requested sausage gravy, biscuits, and scrambled eggs, so I will make that for my man! :) I am getting eager for this year to end. Since we aren’t doing gifts for ourselves at home, and I already gave my niece money for the kids and bought for my two girlfriends, I’m ready to pack up my Christmas stuff and get on with the New Year! Who's with me? :)
