Not sure that's major city so I'm on the Texas coast 2 hours from Houston 2 1/2 hours from San Antonio and Austin and 1 1/2 hours from Corpus. I live in a tiny fishing community on the coast. We have a nice beach I do like to walk along.
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? To lose weight. To get more in shape so I'm not winded walking up our stairs and to finally get my foot stronger from my 2 foot surgeries 2 years ago.
How would your pet or friend describe you? A happy person who is a little odd, but in a fun way.

What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I want to become more physically active. I golf a couple times a week in the summer and have been taking a cart because I donât have the stamina to walk the course. My goal is to be able to walk 9 holes when the season opens in April and work my way into 18 holes before the season is over.
How would your pet or friend describe you? I am very transparent and I always try and find the good in people and situations. Iâve been told Iâm a very optimistic person.
What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. A quilt that I struggled with for a year. Last month I was determined to finish it. I did and was very happy with it in the end.

Do you like Winter? Why or why not? Not really. I find winters where I live are very gloomy. We donât get much snow but itâs damp. When we do get snow it doesnât stay long.

Hello everyone, I am really excited to join the 2025 5% Winter Challenge. I am a new member on MFP and this is my first challenge.

What do you like to do for fun? Gardening, doodling/coloring, YouTube learning, planning, reading (finding a book that sticks is hard though)
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. I live in West Lafayette, Indiana on Purdue University campus. This is a very student-friendly town and I love it here, but I miss the abundant restaurants and weekend activities that cities have.
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? To be more active, build strength, lose some weight and enjoy the healthy lifestyle.
How would your pet or friend describe you? Introverted, cheerful, optimistic.

Do you like Winter? Why or why not? I did not like winter for a long time, but I am starting to like it since last year. I took the Zephyr Amtrak train last Christmas and fell in love with the Colorado winter - absolutely breathtaking! I wish Indiana had some mountains
What are your favorite winter activities? Nothing outdoors really. I like long drives through beautiful terrains, and seeing Christmas decorations. But I am still learning to stay active and cheerful in Jan-Feb.

2 fun things about you? I love commuting in not-very-crowded trains and buses. Staring out the window from a moving vehicle makes me philosophical. I can get obsessed with planning and organization.
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Focus on addition (vegetables, fiber etc.) instead of elimination. I tell myself to eat healthy foods first and then eat whatever I want. I end up eating less unhealthy foods and even if it doesn't help in calorie restriction, my cravings decrease, and I feel more energized.

~ I actually enjoy spending time outdoors shoveling. We do have a company to clean the driveway but they leave a lot behind so I do the finishing touches. I also enjoy cleaning the house.

~ At 76 years old, I still love to dance and take every opportunity to do so. Also, I am fully bilingual in French and English. Still trying to learn some Spanish.
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share?
~ For the last couple of months I have been doing an intermittent fasting diet. I stop eating around 8 p.m. at night and do not eat anything until noon the next day. So far, I have lost 12 pounds. If one cannot fast, I recommend measuring your food. The latter I had done for over a decade but was no longer sufficient for me.

Fun? I've heard of that somewhere! Back in summer I joined Senior Center. Liked some of activities. Relearning Dominoes discovering I really enjoy. Unfortunately life found me so has been a few months since there. Thus no fun.

Cleveland about an hour away while in opposite direction is Akron in half an hour in Ohio. My town has old history. The infamous Captain Brady's Leap and John Brown in history books are here. A sad part of town history, as well as more remembered, is Kent State rioting/violence.

To get back to focus and fight for my health. Struggled thru last challenge gaining weight due to lots of emotional eating.

I shouldâve joined the IBC to help me maintain some focus because, from Thanksgiving through now I havenât made healthy food choices or exercised much, and it show in POUNDS earned! So, my goals to start the year are to make healthier food choices, return to the Y, and begin using the food tracker again. Also, for my mental well-being, I will be de-junking, de-cluttering my home as time will allow.

Anything else you would like to share? I am still adjusting to the loss of my husband, which happened in July, and it effects every aspect of my life. I am attending a 13 session GriefShare group on Tuesdays which has been helpful. Iâm struggling with the changes and moving forward.
