    What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. Live in FL in Panama City...plan to move to Gainesville FL this year

    What are your health/fitness goals for this season? Try to lose the last 12 pounds over the next couple of 5% challenges.

    How would your pet or friend describe you? Courageous, Bold, always doing something

    What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. so many things. I have already checked off 6 tasks today that included finalizing reports for 2024 and getting the templates for 2025 set up.

    What is your favorite TV show? A Series called Chosen. I am watching it again now.

    Do you like Winter? Why or why not? I don't like the cold and dark...but it does allow me to slow down and read more.

    What are your favorite winter activities? Reading

    What are your favorite winter comfort foods? Have you modified it to make it healthier? I like soup.
    Don't eat it enough... I especially like split pea soup with grilled cheese sandwich


    What is your favorite type of winter exercise?Anything inside where I can stay warm. I purchased a treadmill so I can walk while catching up on various videos or the news and I have a set up for strength training.

    Would you rather build a snowman, shovel snow, or clean the house?Clean house where I can stay warm.

    Does your self-care routine change in the winter? What do you do differently? I drink more warm tea and moisturize my face more

    What always cheers you up? Funny animal videos...Hallmark type romance movies

    2 fun things about you? I am starting a You Tube channel to encourage women using ancient wisdom and I rarely miss a Wednesday night dinner at church (no dishes and lots of friends)

    Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Consistency. Consistency is everything. And when you mess up...get right back up and work on consistency again.

    Anything else you would like to share? the 5% challenge makes me want to get up and move every day so I can help the team

    How did you learn about the 5 % challenges? On SparkPeople

    How many 5 % challenges have you completed? Several, mostly on the Cloverleaf team.

    What do you like to do for fun? Play word games, Scrabble, Mexican Train dominoes, play with toddlers (it’s my job and I love it,) spend time with my family, reading, walking and more.

    What major city do you live in or near? I am a cheesehead so Green Bay is the closest big city. I am in a small town in central Wisconsin. We have a university and are known for wellness and being environmentally friendly. We have a beautiful 30 mile trail that goes through our village and the neighboring town. I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life but I grew up in an area called the Cape Cod of the Midwest. It is a tourist destination for many.

    What are your health/fitness goals for this season? My left shoulder is trying to freeze so my goal is to increase my range of motion and avoid surgery. I want to reduce my weight and get back in the habit of many of the lifestyle changes these challenges feature. A supportive team definitely helps achieve these goals.

    What is your favorite TV show? I like a new show called Elsbeth and I like The Rookie. DH and I have been streaming Castle and enjoy that together.

    Do you like winter? Why or why not? It can be beautiful but it can also get dangerously cold here so I would have to say no but I do enjoy having four distinct seasons. Since I work at home, winter isn’t too bad.

    What are your favorite winter activities? Curling up with a book OR my DH on the couch in front of the fire. Playing indoor games.

    What are your favorite winter comfort foods? Have you modified it to make them healthier?
    Spaghetti and beef barley vegetable soup. We recently learned how much sugar is in Prego sauce so we switched to a jar with less. Sometimes we make our own sauce but working fifty plus hours a week makes that difficult.

    What is your favorite type of winter exercise? Walking outside if it’s not too cold or icy and walking inside if I must.

    Would you rather build a snowman, shovel snow or clean the house? Build a snowman if children are there to enjoy it, otherwise clean the house.

    Does your self care routine change in the winter? What do you do differently? It stays the same.

    What always cheers you up? Spending time with my grown children. Quiet time, reading.

    2 fun things about you? I birthed two children exactly three years apart so we call them our “ three years apart twins.” I grow out my hair, get it cut and donate it to Wigs for Kids every two years.

    Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? It takes will power but if I am going to snack, I break one serving down to two or more portions. A serving of Wheat Thins is 16 crackers so I get four snacks of four crackers in a day and drink a glass of water with them.

    I love winter. Cool and crisp, no humidity.

    Before my failed back surgery: long walks

    I love soups! No modifications.

    I am eating some kind of beans almost every day and watch my fiber intake closely. Filling, and fosters regularity!

    I am a widow and live with my youngest son, who is handicapped. This is challenging but also wonderful.

    How many 5% Challenges have you completed? All since Fall 2010

    What do you like to do for fun? Dinner theatres, waterfront and nature walks, boating, cruizing, small faith-based groups, potlucks and buffets, knitting prayer shawls . . .

    What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. Love the midwest and waterfront and regularly vacation in the southeast. I’ll be more specific on a private team.


    What are your health/fitness goals for this season? 30 minutes daily

    How would your pet or friend describe you? Loyal

    What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. A prayer shawl for God, post Christmas shopping with awesome buys, good and healthy cooked meals.

    Do you like Winter? Why or why not? I love all four seasons.

    What are your favorite winter activities? Walking, volunteering with my faith-based small groups, weekly visits with other small groups (especially my walking group), and active with MyFitnessPal’s 5% challenge.

    What are your favorite winter comfort foods? Have you modified it to make it healthier? Cheesy grits (portion control), cheese and spinach lasagna, manicotti or ravioli, 5 oz grilled steaks, rotisserie chicken (meals, bone broth, barbeques. soups or stews.

    What is your favorite type of winter exercise? Walking and specifically targeted stretching and strength training.

    What always cheers you up? My faith in God, my partner, my active involvement in the community.

    Two fun things about you? 1) I designed four stained glass windows for my 70’s and 80’s church, actually completing one of my designs. 2) I lost 100 lbs in about six years and now would like to lose 41 lbs.

    Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Plan lots of low calorie go-to foods and snacks, as well as keep a food diary. this team provides great feedback for whatever might ail you.

    2 fun things about you? I’ve listened to the same radio station since I was 8yrs old I’m 74 now. I like the outdoors

    Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Do not compare yourself to others they are NOT YOU!!!

    Anything else you would like to share? I semi-retired in 2015 to watch my then 4yr old grandson now 14. I work part-time fri & sat 3rd shift and when they need me to fill in during the week.  Helping those who can’t do for themselves

    FYI: If my posting sometimes confuses anyone this is why: I try my best to go over what I write to add words I leave out. I'm dyslexia, I spell phonically, and I even confuse Word with my spelling sometimes when typing.

    How did you learn about the 5% Challenges?
    I found it on MFP and it sounded interesting. It also sounds like a lot of work and documentation

    How many 5% Challenges have you completed?
    I have not completed any 5% Challenges.

    What do you like to do for fun?
    I play games on my phone. I started golfing in August and cannot wait until spring. I joined a Ladies Learn to Play Golf league that starts in May.

    What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live.
    I live about half way between Akron and Youngstown in NE Ohio. Right now, it is 22 degrees F and that is higher than it has been in days. We are looking to get five inches of snow today. ☹

    What are your health/fitness goals for this season?
    My health/fitness goals for this season/session is to reduce my belly fat and increase muscle tone before golfing starts again soon. My belly seems to get in the way of my golf swing.

    How would your pet or friend describe you?
    Busy. I am the caregiver for both my mother and my husband. We three, along with a cat and dog, all live together.

    What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can.
    Laundry.

    What is your favorite TV show?
    I watch internet television mostly and am in season six of Modern Family.

    Do you like Winter? Why or why not?
    I am not impressed with winter. It is difficult to get anything accomplished when the snow is covering everything. It is funny, when we lived in North Carolina I missed wearing sweatshirts and the seasons.

    Comfort foods to me always includes soup of some kind. Soup is my love language.

    I do not have one. This could become one of my goals for this group.

    Either snowman or shoveling because they get my outdoors and moving. Cleaning the house is an effective exercise but it is so boring.

    Does your self-care routine change in the winter? What do you do differently?
    As a fulltime caregiver, I do not have a great deal of time for self-care. Sometimes, I count self-care as getting a shower for myself. I make sure my mother and husband are clean, dressed in clean clothes, elimination needs are met, and they eat multiple times a day. This does not leave much time to me for me. Right now, they are both napping and I am taking this time to work on me on MFP.

    What always cheers you up?
    The sun! Living in NE Ohio, our skies are generally gray from lake effect. It can be so depressing to not see blue skies for weeks at a time.

    2 fun things about you?
    Right now, I do not seem to have anything about me that is fun.

    Keep reaching out. No matter how many times you fail, keep making goals, keep weighing yourself and your food.

    While I have been a MFP person since 2015, I still need to learn how to find my groups and what these groups require. I am open to anyone who can help me with my MFP technical skills.
