It's so cold here, I am over it, I told the husband our thoughts of moving to WV for retirement is over, I don't want to go where it snows often. Ireland would be perfect never too hot, never too cold.
I've been doing okay, I wasn't feeling great for a couple of days, but feeling much better today. Food has been okay for the most part.
I hope everyone feels better quickly.

Well I weighed myself today after a few days of not weighing and I'm up. Not too big a surprise. Can't eat within calories for 1 day and expect it to erase the rest of the week. Plus with surgery I'm sure I'm still inflammed and retaining fluid.

Oh no @Kali225 .. I feel ya! How are you doing today? I took a full sick day Monday and yesterday I worked from home but today I am up and going into the office. My stomach is still not wanting much in the way of food though and I'm not going to be doing any exercise yet.. just off to work, home and back into bed to rest.3

@Gidgitgoescrzy I'm in South Australia! We're having a glorious summer, it's not been crazy hot (where I am it's not unusual to have multiple days of 107F+ in a row) but we've had a couple of weeks of it being around 95, so the pool is in, the hikes are out.
Today is lovely and cool (around 70F) so I'm going to hike after work.3 -

Guess that's better than an increase.
I feel like I did better this week than last, and honestly expected a loss this week. Maybe it's my body just holding on to the weight cause it's so cold, and it knows I would freeze to death if I lost weight. haaa haaa thats what I will tell myself. Could be what I had for dinner last night too, I had grilled cheese and tomato/pepper soup. It was so yummy and very comforting on such a cold night, but cheese and bread tend to make the scale wonky. So next week should be better.
I did rowing last night, tonight is Pilates.

New decade! I sometimes get mad at myself because I was here once before about a year and a half ago. But, that's in the past and I can't dwell on it if I want to make progress, so I am choosing to be very excited that I am not only in the green, but also into a new decade!

@ashleycarole86 I am feeling much better today, thank you. Definitely still steering clear of most foods - might make some plain white rice for a late lunch lol? Rest up!! Hope we can both get normal food in soon

I hopped on the scale this morning and the thing is - getting food poisoning can be great for a weigh-in LOL. My sweet brother is coming to town tonight to go look at this used car together - he is a mechanic and I don't want to purchase this car without his seal of approval, very nice of him to make the drive from work in Connecticut. I am taking him out to dinner as a thank you, a pub near the dealership. I will make careful choices since my stomach is not 100% yet, but I'm sure some appetizers will be tempting... but also some kind of big salad sounds nice, too. See what it all does for the scale tomorrow.3 -

I went for a slow walk outside today and think I overdid it 🫤 I am having some more pain than the other days, although I also hear that day 3 post op can be the most painful. I've been resting the rest of the day, and just took some stronger pain meds.

OK, I'm pulling my head in and getting back on track today. I've not blown my calories too badly the last few days, but it's not about the numbers, it's about the mindset, and my mindset has been far too much in the "just eat it, what difference does it make" place. I know I'm really off track when I start eating things I don't even like/want for that sugar dopamine hit.
@Kali225 glad you're on the mend! Lovely of your brother to lend his expertise!

Happy Friday Everyone, Any big plans for the weekend ?
I have no plans, I need to deep clean my kitchen and bedroom so I will get that done. I wish the weather would be better so I can spend some time outside, by next weekend they say we will have a warm up, so I am looking forward to that.
Last week I bought 3 chicken breasts and seasoned them all different and baked them in the oven, then used them for dinners 3 nights this week, it worked out really well, cause it's so much easier to decide what to have with it, than the entire meal. I think I will do it again this week, because that is one of my biggest issues is getting home from work and not feeling like making it, but this made it so easy.
I think I am going to make chicken enchilada soup for lunches this week.

Jesus. Considering I have been somewhat stable the last 2 weigh-ins, I have to imagine getting sick just meant shedding a lot of water weight. Still, this felt really good on the scale lol. Haven't seen the 240s in a veryyyy long time. So I think my goal for next week will be to stay in the 240s? Seems difficult to actually hang onto this whole loss but we'll see!
Some great news - my brother liked the car!! I have to call my insurance this morning (ugh) to tell them I am moving my plates over to a new car, and then I'll call the salesman to get things going for paperwork. Hopefully I can pick it up this weekend?
No big plans this weekend although I feel I MUST workout. I went snowboarding at a tiny hill south of Boston with my friend on Wednesday night which was so fun, and we are so glad we went to shake the rust out of our bodies hahaha. We are going on a group trip to the French Alps in like a week and didn't want that to be our first time on snow this season! I definitely wish I had been doing more squats and core work the last few months though lol. See what I can strengthen in a single week.....

@Gidgitgoescrzy no major plans here this weekend. My MIL is celebrating her mom's birthday tomorrow at the nursing home. I will see if I feel up to going, even if it's just for a few minutes to stop by and say hi.
I have been feeling slightly better today, probably because I haven't been doing much and taking it easy (no walks outside lol). We are supposed to be warming up over the next few days too!

This is quite a surprise! With the absolute bitter cold we’ve had this week, I did not work out 🫣 because my gym equipment is in our sunroom and I wanted to stay warm for as long as I could every day. I do have my spin class this morning, which will be a lot of fun.
I stuck with my normal routine for food and didn’t deviate too much during the week, so that probably helped make up for the lack of exercise and the loss. For meals this week, we had Skinnytaste’s Taco Chili Cheesy Mac for lunch, and her Lentil Bolognese for dinner; so I had pasta for multiple meals and it felt great lol.2 -

Sorry it’s late again and I’ve been missing. I’ve also been sick. Seems like a theme around here. Hope everyone is feeling better. I literally had a little kiddo cough in my face while I bent down to zip his coat. He’s been out, his bf has been out and the teacher was out a few days too. Still not 100%. Funny thing, though not really, the day I got real sick my heart rate was up in the hundreds. Once as high as 120 doing nothing! . My Fitbit thought I was exercising and gave me 160 cardio minutes that day. It was just my poor body fighting off
this virus. 😂 I thought it was bad allergies from cleaning but then I got a fever.
This week sure has seemed like a year. Glad to see a loss. Hoping I can keep it down next week. Getting back in the teens would be a nice goal.
It was exciting to have hit my step goal every day last week. Sad to say it will not look like that this week between my cold and the cold.
Glad to read everyone’s news of good conversations with family to recovering from sickness and surgery to puppies and warmth and cold, a new car, a vacation, and stress
eating. Yes, I am a stress eater too.

This week flew by even though all I did was sit, lay down, or nap 😂 Last night and this morning were the worst times of pain for me, but feeling slightly better this evening. @ashleycarole86 I am not going to report my sad steps this week or next week and will rejoin in February.
@micki48 I hope you feel better soon! My heart elevated with my last illness as well!
