@Meghan509 That sounds like a lovely little paid vacation you are getting! Enjoy your time!
I just finished up working on an area. One file was particularly troublesome, but I got it done. Now I can do the easy stuff for the rest of the morning.
I have my meals planned for the rest of the week and I will be exercising, too. I think the snow will be cleared enough and the temperature warm enough that I can take the dog for a walk this evening or tomorrow evening. The chickens will like to be able to get out for a wee bit, too. Since our cat passed a few years ago, I don't get outside nearly as much. (I should totally adopt one of the neighborhood semi-feralsMy husband really wouldn't mind, right?)
Off to do all the stuff and things! Have a lovely rest of the week!

Good morning!
Good, glad you are having a productive week @KateNkognito!!
Hope the weather is not too bad. Today will be in the upper 50s F in Washington DC but it is supposed to be WINDY so I am not planning on taking a short walk outside today.
Glad to hear you are planning and exercising! I will get there.
So the National Air and Space Museum and the Udvar-Hazy Center - add those two to your bucket list! We had a really nice time at both. I took a TON of pictures and told my BF that we need to go back when we have more time. He went there as a kid once or twice. This was my first visit. At the Udvar-Hazy Center is where they store the space shuttle Discovery and a lot of different "special" planes. We had dinner next to the space shuttle. When I have some more time, I'll post some pics! SO COOL.
Today we wrap the big meeting at lunch time and then around 50% of our attendees leave. Then the operations meeting starts at 1pm and finishes on Thursday at 2:30pm. I stay through that. Flight back home is Thursday at 5:00pm. If traffic cooperates I should be back for a late dinner.
Hope you have a great day. See you soon!!0 -
That sounds AMAZING @Meghan509! It is definitely on my list of places to visit. One of these days I am going to be retired and take a trip around the US and see all the things. Don't get too bored today!
Absolutely not a thing going on here. I am almost done with the quilting on my latest project. Just have to do the binding after that. That is as exciting as I get, lately. I love it!
Have a great rest of the week!!

Good morning!
Confirming I am still down in DC and I am safe. Given the news that you have probably heard that happened last night by DCA airport. Last night was a rough night. At around 9:45pm or so I was over tired and saw the news and then turned it off to try and sleep. What could I possibly do at that moment. Couple minutes later I got woken up by my work phone ringing - it was my boss. She was worried that some of our employees could have been on the plane in question. This was before they shared the flight information and where it was coming from. Fumbled around and found my list of cars going to the airports, which helped. Went back to bed and during the night the limousine company we use was calling and calling and emailing and leaving messages. I finally got up at 5:15am or so. Limousine company called again and I answered. They had a guy who was supposed to fly out who's flight was cancelled. Got that taken care of and then had a call with our Communications team about sending out an email to our attendees to let them. We were able to get that out by 7:00am or so. Sigh...
I am scheduled to fly out of DCA (Ronald Regan) airport this evening via Delta. The whole time my flight has been showing confirmed on the app. DCA airport reopened as of 11:00am ET and fingers crossed that there are no big issues tonight and I can get home.
Honestly just so tired and really want to get home at this point.
Today is slow and I am able to pop in here to say hellobut I am feeling pretty burned out. Leaving for the airport a little early to leave plenty of time and to hopefully not just end up waiting around. Sigh...
I hope you are having a good Thursday. I will see you soon.0 -
@Meghan509 We are not far from Wichita and it was almost immediately on the news here. I wondered if you would be able to get home today. I hope you all get home safely and you get some rest. Safe travels to you and everyone!

@Meghan509 I hope you got home safely and at least at a reasonable time! Have a good, restful weekend!
I have almost no plans aside from grocery shopping and paying bills and doing laundry. I think I might bake a little, too. I live such a wild and crazy life!
Have a great weekend!0 -
TGIF!
Thank you @KateNkognito I made it home safely last night from DCA. The airport seemed pretty much normal since it had reopened in the AM. No issues or delays with my flight. On the way to the airport yesterday afternoon, we had to drive right by the scene of the accident and I got choked up.The Potomac River was frozen. There was so much media, flashing lights, and we saw a command center set up for first responders. So sad. UGH. There was also a lot of media AT the airport. They were set up with cameras and dish trucks and all that. Inside the terminal someone was reporting live with a camera and I thought I heard her ask me if I wanted to comment. Nope, didn't turn around and kept walking.
Yes, my new VP who started is in the process of relocating from Wichita to CT. He has flown that same flight from ICT to DCA and he said there is a good chance he or our CEO know someone on that plane. So sad. Thinking of you and your community. That is tough.
I am with you on a low key weekend. Grocery store is on my list too for this weekend. Sunday is laundry day for us and I came home with lots. LOL I am feeling burned out big time. Yes, the meeting was great and it went well but it was extremely long days from 7:00am in the morning until 9:00pm at night. Yes I am looking forward to the OT I will be submitting. The whole emotional impact is what really makes me feel the burn out. Just need to relax and unwind and be grateful that I am safe and my family is safe and every single day is a gift.
Hope you have a great weekend. Hug your family.0
