    Hi, I am Lisa, I live in Florida with my husband and adult daughter, and my dog Gus. I also have a son who lives nearby. I've been in this group several years now. I seem to be in a holding pattern with my weight and I'm trying to get things moving in the right direction again. I've gained and lost weight several times over the years, it's become more difficult as I've reached a "mature" age. I walk, lift and do step aerobics. I like to read- currently enjoying "Hello Beautiful".

    Tuesday, I started Noom. And I've gained weight. I like the program overall. However, I found out that Android users are not able to enter their own recipes or create meals-- which are free features here on MFP, so why? I may cancel later this week, but then I will have to find something else to try.

    @trooworld Yikes, I’m soooo glad you didn’t get hurt! I once walked off a curb with a full Venti of iced coffee in front of people. I was a little hurt, very wet, and super embarrassed. :D

    @laurelfit57 It’s going to be 78 today! It’s not good because things will start to bloom, and then we will get hit with a freeze. I’ve seen it before! But I will enjoy it today when I’m out and about. :) I hope it warms up for you soon!! I can’t even imagine -38; you should NOT leave your house! Your fur babies are just like kids, aren’t they? Cheating at hide-and-seek is hilarious! :D

    Katmary71: Did you make homemade chicken sausages or buy them? I always forget that I like them and to pick some up. :)

    @AprilRaineyBattle Thank you! House buying is very stressful. Congrats on finishing the Whole 30 elimination phase. I’ve known people that go through Whole 30 and it takes real dedication. I hope you find lots of great foods that agree with your body. Wow what a great prize to win a Beachbody membership and a 20lb. Dumbbell! Way to go!! B)

    @vegan4lyfe2012 Great loss!!! <3

    @littlebabekitty Glad you are back and feeling better and determined to get back to where you want to be. :)

    Good morning! Well, the inspector informed us that the attic is filled with mice and we need to replace a window. We will negotiate with the seller today, but neither is a deal breaker, so it looks like we are buying a house! This morning I will take the Earnest money to the lawyer, fax the Lender all the stuff they want, and talk to my financial planner. I’m so annoyed about the legal IRS stuff. Why do they have to be so up in my business? Elon should get on to abolishing them! :D There are all kinds of rules about renting to a family member, and the rent needs to be fair market value, which is more than the mortgage that I negotiated so she could afford the house. If the girl could afford rent prices, I wouldn't be buying a freaking house right now!! :s But it is what it is, and we will figure it out. Joe and my sister say I'm overthinking. I am happy that I had a little loss this week, considering I didn’t sleep, stressed out most of the week, order Dominoes one night, and haven’t worked out as much. I know a loss is a loss and I’m happy to have it! :)

    @AnAbsoluteDiva Way to go!

    @laurelfit57 Yeah the risk goes down as time goes down and some people can eventually use a straw (and some take the chance right away). I sure hope so! I'm glad, too. It is soooo true! I would NOT be able to handle that cold lol. That's incredibly cold. Wow, the class was full, that's crazy! That's cool that you are working on treadmill training. Maybe Ty will see Vannie going on it and want to try it. Good job on the veggie prep! How fun to play hide and seek with them. Yay for tracking!!! WOO HOO! And getting some exercise.

    @Katmary71 No, they are on a website (which is more of an online database) called Plan To Eat (https://www.plantoeat.com/welcome/). Lord, if I had them on a Pinterest board, I'd never be able to find them so quickly! LOL Thank you! I'm really thankful for my progress so far. I look forward to more progress! I'm glad, too, it could have been really bad if I fell on my face. When I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, I saw a lady leaving that had a huge bruise on half her face and I can imagine she must have fallen. Sounds like you had a good day. I hope you enjoyed reading time!

    @AprilRaineyBattle That's great you can start reintroducing things. Congrats on your bingo and membership/dumbbells win, that's awesome!

    @vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss!

    @littlebabekitty Welcome back!

    @TeresaW2024 Congrats on the loss! Me, too! Oh my, yeah, I know that feeling lol. That stuff sounds fixable, I'm glad it's going to work out (the house). I'm sure you'll get it all figured out.

    @Cornanda That's too bad you can't enter your own stuff. Gus is soooo cute!

    Hi all. My back was a little stiff yesterday but no other repercussions. I am a bit down right now (mentally), I think because of my fall: I was thinking how falling is going to kill me someday. I fall about 2-3 times a year. Maybe it will lessen as I lose weight. Last night, I made seared ahi tuna with a side of broccoli. I ate it too fast and because it didn't have a sauce and I ate too fast, it was too dry for my tummy and I got sick. It was awful. So, lesson learned.

    I suspect I will see significant weight loss over the next 18 months. I got my Invisaligns yesterday. Have to wear them 22 hours a day. Can't eat with them. Can't drink with them (except water). Pain in the butt to remove and replace. Have to brush my teeth AND the tray before I can reinsert. No way am I eating that morsel of whatever and then having to go through this process. No way! But my teeth are gonna be slammin' when this is over. Have a good day, folks!

    Hi Team, my bike went for service today they said when it reached 80 miles to have it looked over by a professional. The bike shop offered pickup and drop off service I took advantage of that; it didn't cost that much. That way I didn't need to bother my husband. It will be nice to have a place to send my bike to if it has issues. The brakes are really loud they said they will look at them. I will be doing yardwork until my bike comes back, I'm way behind and I saw some weeds sprouting around the yard. I need to spray those before they get too big. I've been overeating by almost a hundred calories a day, I need to stop doing that. Maybe next week I will get back on track after I finish eating the Sugar free peanut brittle.

    @katmary71 sounds like you had a super busy and successful day. Your supper sounded delicious!

    @AprilRaineyBattle mid 70° is my favourite kind of weather! You sound like you have a super super busy schedule

    @littlebabekitty welcome back!

    @Cornanda My son tried Noom last year, for some reason he wasn't a fan. Your picture of Gus is just too sweet for words!

    @TeresaW2024 Would you like to have some company? With your weather I'm totally up for coming for a visit🤣. My fur babies are 100% like my kids, I am definitely going to have to work on Ty's stay command🤣. Why on earth would anybody care who you rented the house to and how much you charge for rent? That doesn't make any sense to me. I think you did super well this week considering all the stress you were under!

    @Trooworld I very seldom ever drink anything with a straw, so that wouldn't be a thing for me. I just don't know why people chance it with such serious consequences. Ty watches Vannie on the treadmill all the time she gets her little nosey nose right in there and it annoys the daylights out of Vannie🤣. I am so sorry that you got sick! Sounds like there is a learning curve with your journey.

    I worked out at home again today. I don't know why at the gym I get through a workout so much more quickly than I do at home. Maybe it is all the help and support that I get from my pups while I am trying to work out . Nothing like laying on your back on the floor, doing leg lifts and a dog sits right on your face😝.
    Did a bit of running around today and then went to two back to back classes with the pups. I'm pooped and so are my girls, they worked hard!
    We only had one class last week and with the cold weather, the lack of exercise is turning my little Ty into a very naughty puppy.
    Tracked all day again today. Hope everybody had a great day!

    @morenin Best of luck to the two of you, great idea to team up!

    @AprilRaineyBattle I grow mostly heirloom tomatoes, usually medium to small as the heat we have makes it tough for larger tomatoes to fully grow. Bigger ones I've consistently grown (in general heirlooms have better flavor but hybrids have a bigger harvest so something to keep in mind) are the following: Cherokee Purple, Black Brandywine, Suddeth Strain Brandywine, then med to large are Japanese Black Trifle, Berkeley Tie Dye, Pink Brandywine, Dr. Wyche's Yellow Beefsteak tomato, Med paste tomatoes I love are Marianna's Peace, Amish Paste, med regular tomatoes I like are Paul Robeson, Eva Purple Ball, Black Krim, and Juan Flamme. I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. If you want smaller tom recommendations I have a ton but Sungold and Black Cherry are two must-haves. More than you asked for I'm sure! Wow you sound super busy but you still had an amazing January!

    @Cornanda Interesting I was thinking the recipe feature was a paid feature but you're right, I got it mixed up with scanning. That is disappointing you can't do that on Noom. Are you enjoying the rest of it or is it not worth it to you? I haven't tried it but am curious. Hi Gus!

    @TeresaW2024 They were Aidell's sausages from the store, I love those ones, they were the Italian with Mozzerella. That's not bad feedback on the house, congratulations! That IS frustrating I hope the paperwork isn't too intrusive and extensive.

    @trooworld How many of those recipes do you think you've tried? I'm going to have to do the free trial on that site sometime it looks great and I DO spend a lot of time searching sales. Hugs I'm sorry the fall got you down, I'm clumsy so I get the worry about being hurt or dying from a fall. You're doing the most important thing losing weight, aside of that strengthening exercises and working on your balance can help. I'm good with strength but with neuropathy my balance is pretty bad. I was pretty surprised my balance improved with occupational therapy, I need to start doing those again. Yikes I'm sorry you got sick!

    @AnAbsoluteDiva I did Invisilign a couple years ago and it DID help a lot with not eating what isn't worth brushing my teeth again over, plus if you DO eat it you're beating yourself up while brushing everything. They worked well for me though I hadn't realized I'd have to wear the trays at night for the rest of my life. They did work great for me, the only time I hear they take longer is from people who don't wear the trays as directed.

    @FushiaKat I hope everything with your bike works out and it's better than ever when it's returned. Sugar free peanut brittle sounds delicious! You have some wiggle room if you wanted to enjoy it, great job maintaining and still enjoying a treat.

    HI team! I'm sure I'm going to miss people I've been working on this for a few hours. All went well at the greenhouse I started 4 trays of chamomile and 3 of lettuce. We're in the middle of a storm and it's pretty windy today, I've stayed home most the day and had a phone medication refill. My roommate made a big batch of chicken primavera with some of my frozen pesto and a bunch of veggies and we had gluten free pasta and bread, came out delicious. Tomorrow's doing all the mushroom prep so I'm ready for innoculation, the instructions are for an 8 quart instant pot and we all have 6 quarts so it's going to be an hour of cooking corn then two rounds of 3 hours sterilizing so I'll be starting early. May go to Costco too depending on weather. Have a great Wednesday!

    @AnAbsoluteDiva Wow, that is certainly a deterrant!

    @FushiaKat I hope they fix your brakes and there are no other problems.

    @laurelfit57 I don't know why, either! HAHAHA Ty knows what to do to annoy Vannie! There is definitely a learning curve lol. I think you have the cutest workout supporters at home! :D Every time I try to do yoga or something on the floor, Violet will come up to me and start licking my face. Not helpful! Good job with the tracking. The dogs look pooped. Can't tell Ty was naughty at all!

    @Katmary71 Oh gosh, maybe 20% of them? LOL That site: every Black Friday, the price goes to 50% off. And even if you are already subscribed, you can add onto your membership for that price. I love it! So, maybe wait until Black Friday to sign up. My husband gave me exercises to do that are functional and will keep me healthy as I grow older. I just need to DO them! That's great you found the exercises you did helped your balance. Thank you! I'm glad all went well at the greenhouse. Sounds like the roommate situation is turning out really well. I'm so glad! Good luck with the mushroom prep. It's supposed to maybe rain today here.

    Hi all. I called the dietician yesterday and she asked me a bunch of questions and gave me some advice. She said to try chewing each bite 20-30 times and serving things with sauces. Last night's dinner went better: I made Skinnytaste's Blackened Air Fryer Salmon Bites (https://www.skinnytaste.com/blackened-air-fryer-salmon-bites/ ) and served it with sugar-free BBQ sauce and a side of roasted asparagus. I was able to chew things 20-30 times (which is harder than you might think!) and it helped. I had no problems. At work, my officemate is retiring this Friday so things have been a little hectic. I will have the office to myself after she leaves, which will be nice! I already picked out some prints for the walls to make my office "my own."

    Hi all. Things continue to go better. Last night, I made another Skinnytaste recipe, Tuscan White Beans with Spinach, Shrimp and Feta (https://www.skinnytaste.com/tuscan-white-beans-with-spinach-shrimp/ ). It called for fresh sage but I only had dried sage and I don't think I added enough, it came out a little boring. I think the next time I make it, I will add some more seasonings. It had a lot of fiber, so that was good. Below are the prints I ordered for my office wall. I got some lightweight black frames that have mats already inside them for the prints.

    @trooworld, it is good that you got advice from your dietician about chewing 20–30 times. I think that would be impossible for me. I chew about 3 bits and then swallow. It’s a problem! :D Those prints are cool! I love the colors. :)

    Good morning! Things with the house are progressing. I’m sure details will need attention, but I feel we are making real progress. Most important is for the Lender to say yes to the loan and pest control to get the mice out, which I have set up for early next week. I thought my desk work would be light, but the pastor called and wants an entire spreadsheet created for last year's expenses. It's a good thing I already keep good records! :D I will work out today and hopefully finish some housework I’ve been neglecting. Have a great day! :)

    @laurelfit57 Haha animals are funny about us working out and trying to be a part of it, Jasper thinks stretching is me wanting to play with him. Ty looks so precious sleeping on the couch and Vannie looks super peaceful!

    @trooworld Thank you I'll do that thanks! Oh I'm sure your husband will be flattered if you do his exercises, go for it! That recipe sounds delicious I haven't tried that one, I'm glad the sauce and chewing advice helped! Good luck with the officemate retiring. Oh the beans with spinach and shrimp looks so good I need to copy you! It sounds like a recipe you could use whatever spices you like it would be fun to play with. Very cool prints!

    @TeresaW2024 That's great news the house is going well! Yikes I second good thing you keep great records! Have a great workout! I think there's always housework to be done.

    HI team! It's been storming pretty bad today, was quite loud in the greenhouse! We managed to repot a lot of the herbs into bigger pots which flew through 4 bags of potting mix and a box of 1000 pots. My greenhouse sidekick is in on the mushroom class plus one other volunteer (the one I have a little crush on). Mushroom class two was fun, we each had 8 jars of substrate (cooked popcorn) and he let us do 4 mushroom strains per 2 jars each so my jars were innoculated with Lion's Mane, Blue Oyster, Pink Oyster, and King Trumpet. One of the others has White oyster so we have 5 strains. They go in a dark warm place for 2 weeks until the next step to add them to wood pellets. I have my own Lion's Mane kit I got for Christmas which is fruiting again now. I'm feeling super bloated even though I've been eating pretty good so not expecting a good weigh-in tomorrow, hoping it's weather-related and not that I've gained. I'm going to get in the tub have a great Friday! Adding pics of my day:iulsmaljg5hp.jpg

    @Katmary71 Do have permanent dirt under your nails at all times? :D I like seeing the pics of the greenhouse and mushrooms. :)

    Good morning! We still haven’t gotten the house loan. It was turned over to the underwriter yesterday, who drove me insane wanting even more information. I honestly didn't think it would be this hard to buy a house! :# But it's the weekend and I'm NOT thinking about it for the next two days! I need to cut Joe’s hair and put all my files back where they belong today. My closet is a hot mess right now and needs some attention. My great-nieces will be here this evening, so we will make pancakes and bacon for dinner like we almost always do when they are here. Have a good day! :)

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION: Are you in love? Yes! My Joe became the love of my life the day he messaged me back on April 20, 2005. We will be celebrating 20 years of love, and while we are in a new chapter of dementia and declining age, our love has remained unchanged. <3

    @Bethanie0825 Congrats on the loss and your progress. I'm glad the Zepbound is working for you.

    @TeresaW2024 Sorry it's taking so long. I hope it happens this weekend! Oops, I just read you don't want to think about it this weekend. How about on Monday then lol. Enjoy the time with your great-nieces!

    ICE BREAKER QUESTION: Are you in love?
    Yes, I fell in love with my husband approximately 25 years ago. Marriage isn't easy at times, but it's worth it!

    Hi all. Well, my doctor took me off the Celebrex (for arthritis) which is fine because I didn't feel like it was doing anything. She wants me to apply Voltaren 3-4 times a day. She also is referring me to an orthopedic doctor to hopefully get some fluid injections in my knee. Hopefully that helps. Today, I'm just going to get groceries and clean the house.
