Good morning! We are all set to close on the house on the 24th at 1:00 pm! My niece is so excited, and we are thrilled that we can help her this way. Now, I need to figure out the tax consequences of a rental property. I've done a lot of reading on the subject and determined that it would be best if the IRS would mind their own business. Yeah, in a perfect world! : D Today is a haircut for Joe, putting our pills together, and doing a gentle workout. I somehow bruised my left heel, and walking right now is so painful! I have no idea what I did to cause this pain, but I need not do it again! :#

@Cornanda Years ago, I tried a program called Vida. I worked with a coach/dietician and I liked it and learned quite a bit. I don't know if they just work with companies now, or individuals but you may want to check it out: https://www.vida.com/

@TeresaW2024 Oh good! Yay for getting a date! Good luck with the tax stuff and all that you have to do. Ugh, that bruise sounds painful!

Hi all. I still feel like I am getting a cold, my throat is pretty sore, so I kind of just relaxed yesterday: I went to the ortho doctor and he gave me another shot of cortisone. He said that the last shot (which didn't work for me) may not have been placed right or this one may be more effective since I've lost weight. Let me tell you, I think he was right that he placed it differently because yowsa, it hurt so much! And my knee hurt all the rest of the day. Today, it doesn't hurt. But wow did it hurt yesterday. Hopefully, it helps. I came home and took a nap and then went to a couple of bookstores and for coffee. Then came home and took another nap lol. When my DH was off, we went for coffee again.

    Hi 👋

I hope you all had a good V-day. Mine was alright, hubby surprised me, he had 2 dozen roses and a miniature rose bush delivered to our home. It's the first time in all of our 20 yrs together he had flowers delivered to me at home. When I worked he would me like that. For dinner, we made homemade pizza together and later, we had cheesecake. It was nice.

Today, I'm going to try and do arleast 20 min of exercise and start drinking my super greens again. I'm only getting between 5,000-6,000 steps a day and I'm gaining weight again, quickly.

Thank you all for the birthday shoutout. I'm officially 40. 😱 Why can't we age down? I would like aging down so much better, with fewer health problems, and fewer responsibilities. Sounds great. 😂

@TeresaW2024 Woohoo that's so exciting congratulations! LOL I love your conclusion wouldn't that be nice!

@trooworld Oh no I'm sorry to hear how much the shot hurt but hoping he got it this time! If you have anything to boost your immune system right now I recommend it with the injection and how you're feeling as cortisone can challenge the immune system. It sounds like you had a full day despite being worn out! I WOULD love to explore the bookstores and coffee shops around you! When I was visiting my brother it was all partying though we did go see 311 and other bands. That's the coolest collage!

@DrewsAnna Aw very sweet gifts from the hubby! Did you get in your exercise and super greens?

HI gang! Thought I had more to catch up on but it's been a little quiet! I went to a cool garage/moving sale of a guy with a huge garden and got a bunch of wide mouth mason jars 2 for $1 then he sold me pots for $1 so now I need some time in the yard! I rented a second bed at the community garden and my friend from the food bank farm also joined which I'm happy about. The garden club vice president is getting into the community garden too and I think all the new energy coming in will be great, the woman in charge of it now has been doing things by herself for a while and is so excited to have more invested people excited to help. I have relatives coming to town next weekend and the only night I can see them is Friday after work but I can't drive at night and have to get up early to get my tooth out Saturday morning. My brother, SIL, and I all are working Friday and my mom is insisting on a BBQ at their house (30 miles away) so I either ride with my brother and stay late or not go since I need sleep for my drive to the oral surgeon the next morning. I tried to get us to meet at a restaurant in the middle but that was vetoed so think I'll see if they want to come over for coffee on the way home and forget my parent's house. My Mom drives me nuts but I'll skip complaining there. It's a huge difference to meet for two hours at a restaurant versus go over at 6 and stay until 10 then need to drive home and go to bed late. My Invisilign broke so it's lots of glue and not eating or drinking in public and I'm going to a Vitamix cooking lesson tomorrow. I tried calling the surgeon to get in earlier but I'm sure that won't happen. Have a great Sunday!

@TeresaW2024 - Yay! for the house being set. Are the mice gone? Sounds like a nice quiet day. Hope your heel feels better soon.

@trooworld - Was Vida offered through your health insurance? I did something like that years ago. Thank you for the info, I will check it out. I hope you don't get sick and your knee feels better. Sounds like you did a lot of walking for books and coffee- that's great you can do that! You are tearing it up with the weight loss- Congrats!

@DrewsAnna - How sweet of your hubby. Wishing you well on getting more walking in. How is your best buddy doing?

    @lislisa123 - Happy Birthday!

@Katmary71 - Oh my goodness you must have been in heaven finding deals on plant stuff. Sounds like the community garden is getting exciting too! I hope you can get your tooth fixed soon. So you are on the struggle bus with me? Keep me updated on how you are doing. I'm thinking of checking out Mayo Clinic next and also Vida as recommended by Troo

@vegan4lyfe2012 - I've been thinking of you and your fam as your beautiful new granddaughter had surgery. Hope she is home and doing well now.

Haven't been saying much because not much going on here. DS came over yesterday and we had a cookout and played games. That was nice. Per Noom tracking, my eating seems pretty decent- it was good to learn that from another source. I've been doing better with step aerobics- it's not flaring up my hip anymore. I have lost cardiac endurance through this whole process, so I am working on that. We have new neighbors and the kids like to come over and chat when they are outside. Last week they "helped" DH rake. Then the oldest one said she had been watching Property Brothers and suggested that we spruce up our front porch by adding a table, a fountain and knocking down a brick wall. DH said he'd think about it. :)

    Happy Sunday!

    Lisa

@DrewsAnna That all sounds very nice.

@Katmary71 I think he did based on how much it hurt lol. I've been taking Zicam to boost my immune system, that's the best I have. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that! That must have been fun with your brother. Yeah, I thought so, too! You have such a green thumb, I'm envious! That's a good idea to have the relatives over for coffee. Too bad about your Invisalign :( .

@Cornanda No, I paid out of pocket for it. I can't even remember how I found it, it was so long ago lol. I still feel like I am getting sick, it's probably waiting for the work week to start back up on Tuesday lol. I'm trying to get more walking in throughout my day. The weekends are easier than the weekdays. Thank you! I'm so glad to hear your hip isn't flared up by the aerobics. LOL that's funny about the neighbor kids!

Hi all. I ran some errands in the morning and then my DH and I went to a museum about humanity. There was a cannibal exhibit, which was interesting. After that, we went to a Mediterranean restaurant. I got a chicken shawarma salad bowl. I ate about 1/4 of it and gave my husband the rest. It was really good but I didn't want to overdo it. We came home and I finished reading one of my books. It felt good to just sit and read. Today, I might break out my sewing machine to make a padded sleeve for my Kindle.

    Hi 👋

I had a good day yesterday! I did about 30 min on the treadmill and I also reached my step goal. I didn't drink my super greens, nor did I eat any vegetables. I'll get there!

I did learn that I have this terrible thing with procrastination. Yesterday, I didn't think about it, I just did it. I need to unlearn the procrastination. I believe it is a mind set thing. Time for me to do some research.

Chipper is doing good. We can't afford the surgery, so we are going to go with the pain regimen. I hate this, he deserves better. I feel like a bad dog mom.

@bethanie0825 Oh no I hate when I need to enter my password since I suck at guessing it well!

@Cornanda Yes the last two weeks I've been UNDER the struggle bus it was so bad! We need to knock this off! It sounds like you're doing well now which I'm happy to read. Yay for step aerobics working that's great! Hahaha your new neighbors are hilarious.

@trooworld Wow I bet the cannibal exhibit was depressing, we know the dark side of humanity is there but it's also a hard thing to relate to. I'm glad you had some time to sit and read that's always so nice especially when life has been busy. Great job with the food too!

@DrewsAnna Great job on the exercise, woot woot! I was using an app called Finch where you can put goals down and check them off the list, it's a cute app and may help. Aw you're not a bad dog Mom hopefully the medication will help him manage.

Winter Hats: Do you wear one or do you prefer not to mess up your hair? I'm not wearing them for warmth unless I'm in the snow or outside long, I think I have bad memories of them as I was bald for a few years in my 30s and wore them a lot. I WILL wear one to the farm or for a work yard day though.

GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES! 2nd Place and @bobboyardee @trooworld and @TeresaW2024 lead the pack this week woohoo!

Hi friends! Tbe cooking lesson was fun this morning, she made banana oat cakes with raspberries on top (bananas, oats, and spices in the Vitamix then spread on a sheet to bake then you add raspberries, they were good. The smoothie was a coconut mango one I didn't try. Got my workout in and did pretty good today diet-wise not food-wise but calories were good. Have a great Monday!

@Katmary71 Good score at the garage sale! I think that is great that the community garden is gaining more people. Ugh mothers!! I agree that they shouldn’t make you have to drive so far, when you have to go to the oral surgeon the next day. Do you own a Vitamix? Those things are cool! :)

@Cornanda, I hope the mice are in the traps that the pest control came and set out. They will come back and check the traps in a couple of weeks. :) Haha, kids on advising y’all on how to improve your property! Your DH better have a good answer for why that brick wall isn’t down yet. :D

@trooworld, you are always going to such interesting places! I’m trying to picture what a cannibal exhibit looks like, and it’s not pretty! :D

Good morning! So, I just discovered that my sweet Joe can't hold a pen!! He signs his name like a three-year-old! I had a big freak-out moment thinking of everything he would have to sign at the closing. I called our real estate agent, and Joe can sign an X if needed. And, of course, my agent stressed that we need Joe to look like he knows what he is doing. To be clear, Joe is fully aware of what we are doing and loves that we are helping Kayla get this house. But he looks like a very old man who might not be all there. :# I will bring my power of attorney, which gives me total control, just in case a question arises. I also bought a pen for those with arthritis, and we plan to play that at the closing. I need this done so my little family can be in their new home!!! I'm still doing great with not eating sugar or snacking, which I'm very impressed with, considering how easily my stress could send me straight to Joe's cookies. Have a good day! :)

ICE BREAKER QUESTION of the Week: Winter hats - do you wear one,
or do you prefer not to mess up your hair?
No winter hats for me here in Georgia. I don’t go out when it’s that cold. :D
  • trooworld
    trooworld Posts: 7,102 Member
Way to go, team! 2nd place woo hoo! A special shout-out goes to @bobboyardee and @TeresaW2024 for leading the way!

@Katmary71 I didn't find it depressing so much as interesting. One of the kings supposedly ate the head of his enemy, for instance. It is a hard thing to relate to. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the cooking lesson. Interesting recipes. Good job with diet!

@TeresaW2024 There are a lot of places around here to go, and this month is museum month, so a lot of the museums are half-price if you get this coupon from the library. Well, the exhibit was mostly text panels that were interactive (you lift up the panel to see if a certain animal tends to be cannibalistic...for instance monkeys), they had some items but they weren't gross or anything. Things like a helmet from the 1600s. I hope the signing goes okay. That's good you are bringing power of attorney should there be any questions. Great job with the no-sugar and no-snacking!

ICE BREAKER QUESTION of the Week: Winter hats - do you wear one,
or do you prefer not to mess up your hair?
Because it doesn't get that cold here, I tend to only wear one on the occasion that it gets down to the 50s. Also, in the mornings, when I walk the dogs, if it is cold, I will wear mine. I have a nice black one with a black fake fur pompom on top. It's cute.

Hi all. I did some sewing yesterday, I made that case for my Kindle. It didn't come out perfectly but I thought it looked nice. I showed my DH and he said it looked nice but then proceeded to point out all the flaws. Then he said he was joking but it hurt and made me depressed. I was depressed the rest of the day/night. He should know better than to joke like that about something I worked hard on. Not funny.

Amelia got to go home yesterday 🩷 Please keep the prayers coming for her and her parents. Marcus told me today that it's obvious that she's in a lot of pain. The only pain reliever she can have is Tylenol. He also said she is only eating about 1 to 2 oz at a time, so she's waking up every 2 to 3 hours.

I haven't been doing 100% with good food choices, but I would say that I'm probably around 80%. I had a 1.8 lb loss with today's weigh-in, so I'll take it! I get to go see my therapist in an hour. After that, I'll stop at the grocery store to pick up some fresh avocados because I am all out and that is heresy 🤣

I should wear hats here in Michigan, but I really just need my ears covered. Somehow my mother got ahold of an ear muff contraption where it goes behind your neck instead of over the top of your head. She gave it to me and it is my favorite thing now. Came in handy while I was pumping gas last night with the wind chill being close to zero.

Don't forget to drink your water today!

    2025 is MY year!
