Ugh. Funny how not eating well shows up on the scale. I have been sloppy on the food tracking. I will have better numbers next week.

@MoStacy - Always fun to see how our bodies never reward us as much as we think we deserve for doing things "right", but is so quick to punish us for doing things "wrong". Every choice is an opportunity to make a good choice, you got this!

191- I got sloppy. I had a good plan and tried changing some things up. I started really good and then stuff happened and it got in the way of my plans. I will strive for a better week. Part of me didn’t want to report it because it was disappointing. But if I want to change I need to change. Part of that is not hiding in the lies. The lie I have believed for so long is that if my weight isn’t going down then I failed and translation is I am a failure. The truth js is I didn’t do my best and this week I can do better.

@blessedgrandma5 - The truth is also that sometimes our bodies hold onto water because we consume more salt/sugar than we need, or because we are getting sick, or we are cold, or shifts in hormones, or excessive amounts of stress, or repairing muscle, or the air is drier than normal, or...

All I mean to say here is that you have no reason to be so hard on yourself. Things happen, life gets in the way, and sometimes we get off track from our plans. All we can do is pick ourselves up and start again, at any point along the way. You're building better habits, learning what does and does not work, and finding your stride. You got this!

Week 3 of doing well with food and movement. Really dislike when the scale doesn't show any loss, especially being the weight I'm at.

It was my birthday yesterday, so there is a bit of cake and treats around but all in moderation. I am on holiday this week and we have a few days away booked with less control over what I can eat (team breakfast and dinner for my daughter and her team's competition weekend, staying at a hotel and visiting London with my family) but hopefully a lot of steps to balance it, and a lot of memories

I haven't counted last week's weight sorry I didn't answer you. I have been feeling unwell since, stomach aches & more so after eating. I have also been drinking plenty of water throughout the day since to help me get back to some kind of order.
Yes I will be getting in touch with the team who did my procedure tomorrow as I have given it a week. I have no energy & just feel so tearful.
I think I'm going to have a gain tomorrow which me feel bad.

Kudos to top of the leaderboard, @Emilienewme for most steps in one day--exceeding 25K! @blessedgrandma5 was Most Consistent! And of course, bolded members have a step goal and reached it!

@BodyTalking was within less than 25 average steps of goal, so I half-bolded...SO close!

If you want to join the step challenge for Febuary:
Just post your steps by the end of Wendnesday after the week ends. I'm flexible and might wait a day or two for you. If we're 'friends', I may drop a personal note to you to check in. If we aren't, and you'd like a personal note, send me (melaniedscott) a friend request.

Part of the challenge or new and want to add or update a goal?
If you want to... be bold (heehee), let us know how many steps you want to hit every day on average and we'll keep track of it for you!

For anyone confused about where we are ...
This is post is for Feb 9-Feb 15. For those interested in joining the February step challenge (you can join any time!), the week of February 16 (2/16-2/22) steps should be posted by Wed, Febuary 26th.

This past week was hard, because of hormones/period most likely. I wanted to eat everything and I felt very tired. I think it went OK because I still tried my best to stay on track and I stayed active.

    WEIGH IN DAY MONDAY:

    PW: 175.9 lbs
    CW: 176.5 lbs

I was 174.5 mid week but I’ve suddenly pinged up the last few days I think it’s my monthly cycle but I’m not sure. I’ve been consistent with tracking and weight training and getting some steps. I’ve had an ice cream and a small amount of chocolate but counted them in my calories so I don’t think it’s that grrr

NOT what I wanted to see! Knew it wasn't going to be good though. This week I've had pizza a couple of times, pasta, candy and ice cream. Without moving a whole lot as well, so it was bound to happen! My BF of 8 months keeps getting after me for the sweets because I am pre-diabetic. He isn't, so he'll eat just as bad as I do, but says it's okay for him since he isn't pre-diabetic so that's a struggle. I am gonna try and find things that are sugar free either processed things or try and make some stuff on my own. I've gotta figure this out because I need sweets in my life, but not if they're going to keep damaging my body! I really hate this 2.2lb gain! I am going to try and do much better this week, cut out a lot of the sugar if not all and try going for some walks if the weather is nice. Oh and drink more water!

Hello! It's great to be back. This place motivates me more than any other! Life has happened... again! I am sooo ready to get myself in better shape.

    For my intro here (again):
    I'm Debra, 52 years old. Mother of 3 - a son, age 30 and twin daughters - age 28.
I'm Gigi to 6 wonderful grandchildren ages 5,4,3,3, 1 month, and 1 month. (No twins in the grands).

I still have my farm. We have grown slightly. We have 160-ish chickens, 7 turkeys, 17 ducks, 1 emu, 4 goats, 7 cats, 6 dogs, and a ferret.

I changed jobs about a year ago. I'm still in retail, but I don't have to travel. I get to stay local and have great hours and consistent off days.

At my very heaviest, I was 196 pounds. That was in 2010. I managed to keep that weight off until divorce and stress. It gradually came back. I lost the weight again, maintained for a bit, and then here it came again. Just the normal gains from trying to get things back on track. Now here I am again.

This time I'm going to use different terminology. Instead of saying "lost weight" (which suggests I may want to find it), I will use the word "shed". I'm tired of constantly finding this weight.

    I won't be "losing x pounds". I will be "shedding x pounds."

Since I'm off tomorrow, but we haven't officially started March, whatever my weight is tomorrow, I'll use that number as my start weight.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

Not much of a scale move but I know I haven't been as strict as I should have been this week. I'm going to London for a few days on a theatre trip at the end of March so that's my first mini-goal. I would love to be down another half a stone by then and feel better with the walking. I usually go once or twice a year and last time I felt so unfit as I was constantly having to stop and take breaks while we were walking around :(

@melaniedscott - I'm not going to do the step challenge this month as I don't generally keep a note of them, once I hit my 'target' I'm usually, yay, and forget about it lol. I might do for next month, will have a think this week x

@mizzmagenta - woot, congrats on reaching your goal weight!! That's fantastic <3

@blessedgrandma5 - ooh, those energy bites look yummy! I'm bad with needing that 'sweet' fix sometimes. I've just got in some Skinny bars, so it's nougat with chocolate and only 80 cals. Hoping it will help when I get the cravings lol. I really felt your comment about if the scales are going up you're a 'failure' - it's a horrible feeling and I used to take it as, well if I'm a failure what's the point in keeping trying. But, as you say, we can do better and try harder - it's never a straight path unfortunately.

@Emilienewme - Happy belated Birthday! And congrats on losing even with cake ;)

@IDebraK - welcome back! Your farm sounds amazing <3
