Mihani - you amaze me with all that you do! Good to recognize you needed a little self care. Wow, 2 instant pots! I like the idea of a smaller one too.

After dealing with the 50 gallon aquarium this morning, I am in the midst of a whole house organization. Guest rooms and bathrooms are ready. Linen closet done. Just did kitchen including refrigerator and pantry. It is so cold and raining now. Good day to do all this. I have the front “ dog closet” a utility closet, oh and under the sink. Last will be our bathroom, closet and bedside tables.

The 50 gallon tank is a hot mess. The dam driftwood won’t sink despite me soaking it for a month. I have to put rocks on top of it. Plus it is still releasing tannins so the water is a weird green yellow. I was hoping the tank would be ready so I could combine my two smaller tanks into this one.

Big drama of the house: the guest bathroom my sister will be using…a friend used it for the first time since we have been back last week and the enamel cracked. Good news, the enamel bathtub company fixed it on Friday. Looks brand new. But now house has funky smell from paint.

Having black bean soup and rice for lunch. That means a salad for dinner or roasted vegetables.

Too bad about your big fish tank, bisky. I hope the smell clears in time for your sister's visit. I hope all goes well for Brooks' retirement! Congrats from me to you both.

Nothing but weaving (and cleaning as needed) going on around here right now. My supplies for the loom are here and I now I just need to ditch the migraine I have so I can dive into the project.

I've been enjoying my Kaffree Roma coffee sub in the evening to help me avoid snacking (snacking as much that is...really having trouble with cravings and food choices). Ramping up walking on the treadmill but unless the headache clears it will be a rest day or a brief walk.

I'm sure by now we are in the clear here as far as danger of snow. It's in the 50s and looking like spring is around the corner. I think I might get into a bit of gardening this year. Simple things that are fun to eat right out of the garden like cherry tomatoes and snow peas. I saw someone's garden where they bent wire fencing into an arch to grow tomatoes and used the shade underneath for salad greens.

lol that makes it sound like it is the fish tank that is smelling, rather than the tub repair :p

Hope Brooks has a wonderful retirement celebration, Bisky! Has the fish tank settled down?

Carla, I've been thinking about putting in a few tomato and green pepper plants. Not a real garden just a few plants. There really isn't much better than a fresh off the vine tomato from your own yard.

I am up a couple pounds after eating out several times the past week. I'm guessing the bounce up is mostly salt since I haven't gone crazy on the calories. I have had fun, but glad there's nothing going on tonight and I can come straight home. One more gathering tomorrow and possibly a lunch with friends over the weekend, then I am going back to being a hermit for a while. Might try to get out of the office a little early since I need to make another starch blaster tonight and if there's time may attempt the yogurt again.

I think that's what I'll end up with too, Mihani, just a few plants so it doesn't get to be too much. Don't be discouraged if your yogurt ends up thin to start. When you make it again you will use your yogurt as starter and it will get thicker.

Our whole house stinks to high heaven of skunk. Both dogs got sprayed this morning so I was jolted out of bed by Joe running by down the hall and a chemical burning smell. We have the skunk shampoo on hand, but we can only wash 1 dog at a time, so the smell had longer to sit on Ruby. And poor Radar got sprayed right in the eyes. As we were taking him down the hallway, he'd stop to try to rub off the spray by rubbing himself all over the carpet. ugh.

It is such a stink fest right now I don't know know where the smelly spots are it just all smells. Even rooms that had their doors closed were inundated.

    Every breath is a reminder.

I had a good workout on the treadmill yesterday and will do a repeat today.

I had an ezekiel english muffin with just egg for breakfast and I'm having Plantage gumbo for dinner. I have a few lara bars left in the house so I'm going to have one for dessert and then no eating afterwards.

Oh no, Carla! That is awful. Sometimes when I get wistful about living in the country, you remind me it's not all sunshine and daisies. LOL

Made a batch of starch blaster last night but didn't have time for yogurt. I'll start that tonight since I'm not going to the office tomorrow and will be working from home, then lunch out with friends. Office on Sunday.

It is not all sunshine and daisies for sure! We love our property but every winter there are trees falling on our driving breaking our fences, barn paint starting to peel, muddy dogs digging big holes and more. For me the biggest con of our place is that we don't have a sidewalk to walk on down our road. Heck there aren't even shoulders! But the trade offs are having eagles nesting nearby, room for the dogs to run, a studio for me, and lots of outdoor space for Joe and I to have privacy.

This is the 3rd time the dogs have been sprayed! I'm starting to think they just aren't going to learn. They were both so miserable all day yesterday. We all were really. You never get used to the smell. They are doing much better today. Radar got some in his eyes so we tried our best with the shower hand held sprayer but I ordered some eye wash made for dogs to have on hand. (people eye wash is bad for them)

Hope you have a nice time at lunch tomorrow, Mihani.

    Happy Friday!
