@trooworld Ha it’s more that I start a ton of plants than being great at growing but thank you! Yay I’m so glad you’ll be able to enter your painting in the show I love it! Black cats seem to always be a bit quirky I think you captured the personality of the ones I’ve interacted with. Oh no that stinks about losing the time I really wish we’d stop with changing the time.
@TeresaW2024 Oh no I’ve had problems like that with Office 365 and the free versions of software my Dad gets where they wouldn’t work on a laptop, it’s so frustrating. I hope you’re able to figure out the car issue.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you! I think the card issue is my Mom isn’t a mushy person and doesn’t take much interest in us which rules out 90% of the cards. You had an awesome weigh-in wtg! Love you taking your own popcorn to the movies! I haven’t heard of either of those movies sounds like good ones. I love barley though I grew up eating a lot of bulgur being Armenian. I vote barley for the chewiness!
@DrewsAnna Oh no hope the grandchild is feeling better! Happy birthday to your SIL, I’m sure she’ll love it whenever you can give it to her don’t feel bad! She’s going to understand. Sounds like the goal of the day is keeping you all plus the plants healthy!
@AnAbsoluteDiva Oh my goodness definitely look into an Instant Pot or a Ninja Foodi, they’re awesome! I’m using my InstantPot for the mushroom steps to sterilize and cook grain but normally I make a lot of soups and chilis, beans, shredded chicken, plus herbal teas in it. Hard-boiled eggs peel super easy and you can even make cheesecakes and yogurt in them. The starchiness can also been an issue with the electric pressure cookers where you tend to let them depressurize before opening to avoid any starches blowing out.
Hi team! I’m trying Word this time but I know the names won’t actually tag people unless I retype them like I did last night. Had a busy day I had an x-ray at the dentist then went to the store and brought everything home then met two friends at a new all-you-can-eat buffet and I’m super stuffed. I feel gross I almost went to bed when I got home but felt bad for not checking in here. We went to Sam’s Club too and I got a few things. Put some time in repotting tomato plants and have more to do tomorrow. I’m taking Barbara O;Neal classes at a church the next five days which is at night and kind of far and tomorrow’s the only afternoon I have free so need to get my seedlings in bigger pots and reorganized. I made a little stink with the HOA and am going to deal with that next so gotta get moving! Have a great Tuesday.

@TeresaW2024 Congrats on the loss! Yes! I am very glad for that. And the cortisone shot helps as well. Thank you! I think we still have to change the microwave lol. Hahahaha I'm glad your oven clock is right now. ;) Sorry about the cars. I hope you guys can figure it out. It's supposed to dump rain today here.
@AnAbsoluteDiva Congrats on the loss!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss! Yeah I hate the commute. If I didn't love my job so much, I would get one closer to home. Millie was so sweet! I hope she gets adopted quickly. Camper is a sweetheart, too. He wasn't really sad, just looked that way in the pic. Thank you! I'm glad no knee pain, either. Thanks! Fresh spring rolls are so good and light. They don't sit heavy in my tummy. Good job with the Daniel fast! You have some great willpower. Good idea to sneak in popcorn (and hot sauce lol). I'm so glad to read you are feeling better in all ways. I like bulgur a lot, it's a nice texture and tastes good. I say bulgur!
@Katmary71 Thank you! That's a nice compliment. I wish we would stop the time change, too! I hate that we have to retype the names with the @ symbol lol. I use Notepad but still have to retype. Did you get your flapper? What kind of class is the Barbara O'Neal? Good luck with the HOA.
Hi all. I wanted to go for a walk on my breaks yesterday but it didn't work out: I wore the wrong shoes to work (ballet flats) and they were new shoes and I didn't want to cause blisters. I will wear tennis shoes to work today and hopefully walk. I ate too much of a protein bar yesterday and it made me feel sick to my stomach. The sweetener was allulose. I felt like I had eaten too much sugar after I ate the bar even though there was no sugar in it.

What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of?

@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on your loss this week!! The Daniel Fast is paying off for you! I am usually starving by 11 a.m., and my protein shake has lots of protein powder, unsweetened coconut milk, Keifer, and frozen berries. I sometimes eat a small amount of nuts with my shake, which does help keep me full until around 3 or 4 pm. Learning the difference between a glucose drop and real hunger is key to not eating between meals. If I get that hungry feeling, I have a cup of plain green tea or coffee. Any commute, in my opinion, is brutal! 😄 Good girl for sneaking in your healthy snack to the movie! I cannot help you decide which because I’ve never had any of those three listed. 😂
@Katmary71 Buffets always make me super stuffed, too! I have been following Baraba O’Neill on TikTok, and she is awesome—but also scary!! There is so much we shouldn’t be eating, drinking, using, or wearing that it can be overwhelming. These health gurus can make you feel like you must live in a bubble. Just not a plastic bubble because that would be bad! 😂
@trooworld It was a good call not to try to walk in new ballet flats. You would have gotten a blister, for sure. Allulose can hurt my stomach, too. I do much better with Monk Fruit and Stevia. 🙂Good morning! My brother-in-law came over and put a new battery in my sister’s car, which was expensive but not what it would have been without him. I dropped my car off last evening for its oil change, and my bestie will take me to pick it up today. Then, I need to run to the church to hunt down a receipt for the pastor. Do I really need to retype the names of who I'm replying to? That seems like a hassle when we can scroll down each post and see if our name appears. Someone tell me why that's not a good enough plan.😁
Question: What past fitness or health goal have you achieved that you’re most proud of?I was very proud when I lost 80 lbs and felt strong from lifting weights. I’m working to get that feeling back!
1 -
What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of? I am very proud of reaching my goal weight. I am also proud of my "Walk The Year" goal of walking the year in miles (several years). But I am probably most proud of a multi-day trip bicycling up through the White Mountains of NH & ME. I stayed overnight at B&Bs, nothing planned in advance, and only 1 change of clothes. Money for food and quarters for the laundromat.

@AnAbsoluteDiva – An instant pot is an electric pressure cooker. I use it all the time – I’m able to cook my dry beans, unsoaked, in less than an hour. I use it for soups, stews, steaming taters and other veggies, cooking grains, making risotto that you don’t have to stir, you name it! It has many functions. You can also use it as a slow cooker, but I haven’t tried that yet cuz I like my 30 year old crock pot. I don’t understand why you use a towel to absorb the steam when cooking rice. You want the rice to absorb it. Maybe that’s the problem?
@Katmary71 – I’m sorry about your mom. My sister is the same way. It really can be hard finding the right sentiment for some people in our lives. I’d say Mickey 17 is good for one watch. It’s worth it once, but not a repeat like Heart Eyes. That one just cracks me up. The gore is so over the top, it’s hilarious! I adore barley and it’s perfect warmed up or as a cold salad. Have fun with the HOA.
@trooworld – I find already after just 6 days that the thought of sweetener doesn’t sit right for me. I had a bit too much pineapple last night for my night time snack and even those natural sugars wouldn’t play nice. I think we learned our lessons yesterday!
@TeresaW2024 – Sounds like a good plan to have the tea or coffee between your meals. I tend to have a dessert style or floral tisane at night, just before bed, when I’m wanting a snack. I’m flabbergasted that you’ve never had barley or bulgur! I can understand millet. Maaaybe barley. But bulgur? You’ve never had tabbouli? You totally need that in your life 😊
@micaroo4 – What an awesome thing to do! A bicycling trip like that must have felt exhilarating! So adventurous!
I am happy to report that the next time I started my car and linked up the Bluetooth, my clock reset to the correct time. Yay! I cut up a baggie of carrots to take to the movie last night. Snuck that in with my water bottle…and didn’t eat a single one! I was still fully satisfied from my dinner. I’m actually listening to my stomach cues. 51 years old. About dang time! I don’t have any plans with anyone after work today, so I’m gonna get into the craft room. I’m behind on several cards. I’m in a swap group where you send 6 cards to the same 6 people by the 6 th of the month for a total of 6 months. It’s called The 6th Swap LOLs. Anyway, I’m 5 days behind on getting my March cards sent out. Shame on me! I need to make my bestie a Birthday card and new house congrats. I’ve got some other projects to work on, too. We’ll see how much I can get done tonight. I would say that crafting helps keep me from snacking, but I haven’t actually wanted to snack lately 😊
I have one vote for barley and one for bulgur, so instead of a week’s worth of one, I’ll do both with half the amount each.
What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of?
I was really proud of myself when I lost 60 pounds before and was able to scale the Lake Michigan dunes. I am determined to lose this weight again (for the last time!) and scale those dunes again…with maybe a few little sets of feet joining me 😊
Be sure to drink your water today!

What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of?
In my mid 40's, I was into zumba, kickboxing, a little jogging and strength training. I was always involved in fitness challenges and different food challenges. My house was always clean and my gardens were pristine. I was physically and mentally fit, I looked good and felt great. I got up around 4:30 am with hubby... now he's retired and I can't find that girl that I was talking about up there....

@vegan4lyfe2012 I now understand why people rave about instant pots. I had no idea what it is. I am so old school - still soak my beans overnight - but the clean tea towel to absorb the steam is something my mom and my grandma and her grandma have done. It's a big thing in the Caribbean and it leaves that rice so insanely fluffy and perfect. I did cook that brown rice by soaking it the night before. It was perfect - no chewiness, no half cooked pieces, it was perfect. The chicken broth and the soak I think made all the difference. I'm going to look into the instant pot and see if how big it is (storage) and if I'm really going to use it. I don't have a slow cooker either; I just braise everything in a Dutch oven for hours and layer in the savory vegetables as the protein cooks. Thanks so much for writing back!!

I finished 27 marathons in 27 states; 23 to go but doubt I'll do it. Turned to bodybuilding and prefer that 100% over running.

I'm loving the new Trike, so far no issues. I overdid it yesterday with yardwork and a bike ride. Today it was raining so no ride today, I saw it might rain for a few days in a row.
I hope everybody is feeling well and doing what makes you happy. Yes, let's keep DST and never change I'm a fan of that.
I need to skip the animal cookies at night my weight is creeping up, plus I still have a box of Sugar Free See's Peanut Brittle to eat.
Sleeping well is hard, is this just something that happens as we age? I saw the rheumatologist today, it was a good three-month checkup.1 -

Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @DrewsAnna @lisalisa123 (lisalisa123 I can't put your name as it's choosing one with a "0" or no one)Hi gang, they mistakenly put down the class was from 5 to 6:30 but it's until 8:30, I'm totally worn out (hadn't thought I'd have to drive 20 miles in the dark and I can't see from my blood pressure medicine at night). Have a storm coming in tomorrow so I'm not sure if I'll go, I'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday!
Past health or fitness goal I'm proud of is being able to get my trash can to the curb and get cat litter in and out of my cart!

@TeresaW2024 I think so, too. I'm going to try Barebells, I heard they have a different sweetener and some people like them. I'm glad you got the cars straightened out. I don't think you need to retype the names. I personally scroll down and look for my name. Bolding is a good idea though.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Interesting that your tastes have changed after 6 days. I think we did! LOL You are lucky your car automatically changes the time! Good for you for listening to your stomach cues. Do you find it hard to do so? Yay for craft time! That's great you haven't wanted to snack lately. I was just thinking that doing my art keeps me from thinking about food. :) Not that I think about it too much anymore. I hope you enjoy the barley and bulgur. They are both yummy!
@19shmoo69 Good morning! Enjoy your coffee today! :D
@FushiaKat I'm glad you got your new Trike. Is it purple, too? I have trouble sleeping, too, for me, it is aging. Yay for a good check-up!
@Katmary71 Oh gosh, that's a long time! Take care of yourself.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of?
I think probably the time I jogged a 5K. I worked my way up from not being able to jog, just walking, to a slow jog using the Couch25K app. I did the Thanksgiving Day 5K here. I felt really accomplished when I did it. Even though I don't enjoy jogging and don't ever plan on doing it again, I'm glad I did it.Hi all. I am going to take a pair of extra shoes to work and leave them at my desk. I didn't end up walking yesterday: lots of reasons. I could have but I didn't take the time. Will try again today. It's rainy weather here. Last night, it took 1 hr 45 mins to get home. It would have taken longer if I had to do the usual and pick up my husband from his job on the way home but he went home earlier (thankfully).

@vegan4lyfe2012 HaHa, I am grain-challenged!! I didn’t even know people ate millet until I met you. I used to feed it to my cockatiel years ago. I looked up Tabbouli, and it does look delish. I would eat it if someone made it!😂 Good for you for learning to listen to your body! I think at least 90% of snacking is for reasons other than real hunger, and if we can learn to stop that one thing, we will have an easier time losing weight. Happy crafting!! 🙂
@AnAbsoluteDiva Wow, 27 marathons in 27 states is incredible!!😲 I agree that bodybuilding is better for the body, especially as we age. Do you still run?
@Katmary71 Ugh, I'm sorry to have to drive in the dark. We have some big storms coming this weekend, too. 😕
@trooworld That commute would kill me! You should move. 😂 I’ve never heard of Barebells. I just looked them up, and they have great reviews, but they have Malitol and Sucralose, so hopefully, those sweeteners will agree with your body. I can’t handle foods with much Malitol at all. I have been researching bars, too, since I need a little something now that I’m back to lifting weights and need some energy. I ordered two boxes of Paleovalley Superfood bars with incredible ingredients and good reviews. They are taking forever to arrive, which is annoying! It's a great idea to leave a pair of shoes at work so you can do your walking. Now, you need to get up and do it! 😜
Good morning! Today will be 76 and sunny, so I’m taking Joe to lunch and TJ Maxx. I want to buy new wooden cutting boards and remove my plastic ones. I also need a new skillet, a baby boy shower gift, whatever else strikes my fancy, and a new toy for my Maggie Mae! 🐶 The rest of the week, we are looking at big storms, which annoys me because I need to get my gutters clean and I keep forgetting to call them. If only the guy next door would chop down his stupid tree! I did an arm workout yesterday and am super sore right now. Today is the lower body, so I will complain about that tomorrow. 😁

@19shmoo69 – Good morning!
@AnAbsoluteDiva – Yes, instant pots are awesome with lots of functions. I had never heard of the towel trick. But you said it makes the rice have no chewiness and that’s something I like, so that would probably be why I never heard of that. I’m glad it turned out good for you! I don’t have a Dutch oven…but I also don’t eat meat, so there’s no need for me to braise anything. I mainly steam or air fry stuff 😊 How fun that you’re doing marathons in different states! I hope you’re able to visit all of them!
@FushiaKat – Glad your new trike is working properly. I agree that the older I get, the harder sleep is. Glad your check up was good!
@Katmary71 – You keep spelling @lislisa123 wrong – there’s no first “a”. It’s “lis (no a) lisa123” I’ve noticed this several times, but never said anything cuz I thought she would. Driving at night sucks. Especially with all the new headlights that really try to blind you. My cataract is getting worse and it’s horrible trying to drive at night.
@trooworld – I’ve always had a hard time with stopping when I get full. I would eat until I felt like I was going to urp. So this is a huge accomplishment for me. Last night I had a little too much guac, but I stopped when I realized I was overdoing it. I enjoyed my craft time last night. I got all the pieces for the 6 cards die cut and laid out how I want. I started assembling and got 1 card complete, but then it was close to 11pm and I was getting tired. Hoping to finish them today. Smart to leave a pair of walking shoes at work. How does your hubby get home from work if you usually pick him up?
@TeresaW2024 – Ha! Grain-challenged! And I didn’t know millet was fed to birds! I am definitely a stress/bordom/worry eater. I’ve been doing so good this week! Sounds like a beautiful day there! Enjoy the lunch, shopping and time with Joe!
I was able to get some of my crafting done last night, but got tired and stopped. Lots to do today, so hoping I can get them finished and mailed by tomorrow. Teas to review and photograph, dishes to wash, cards to make, behbehs to hold and play with…I need 48 hour days! I also need to do the food prepping. I usually have Lemon Couscous Salad, but I think I’ll make it with bulgur and see how that tastes. It’s just the grain, lemon juice, grape tomatoes and spinach. Simple is good 😊 OK. Lots to accomplish, so let me get going. I hope everyone has a Happy Hump Day!
2025 is MY year!

Hi 👋
Yesterday's question, it brought up all kinds of emotions. I got depressed, mad and disgusted with myself. It's nobody's fault but my own.
I also got motivated. I did a 30 min workout and a 10 min upper body strength with my 7 ring resistance band. Both are Leslie Sansone workouts. Then, I stayed busy the rest of the day. I was so tired when I went tot bed last night and I'm sore today in a good way.
Procrastination and depression is my 2 main problems. Bottom line is, I have to keep moving.

@TeresaW2024 LOL I should. But up where I work, all the housing is uber expensive so I will not be moving until I win the lottery lol. Maybe I'll just get one Barebell to try. Maybe I should avoid those type of bars altogether lol. I've never heard of Paleovalley Superfood bars, you'll have to let us know what you think! What are they sweetened with? I do need to get up and do it! :D 76 and sunny, wow that's great. I hope you found some good stuff at TJ Maxx. How is your lower body today?
@vegan4lyfe2012 Great job, then! It can be hard listening to your body cues. I'm glad you enjoyed craft time. If I don't pick up hubby, he takes the bus. That takes a while so he doesn't do it often. Lemon couscous salad sounds amazing! With bulgur would be interesting. Oh Oliver, look at those big brown eyes!
@19shmoo69 lol! I second what @Cornanda said.
@Lislisa123 @DrewsAnna Congrats on the losses!
@Katmary71 I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you feel better today.
Hi all. It rained part of the day yesterday but it cleared up by the time I was off work and traffic wasn't too bad, only an hour. Today will be a different story as it is supposed to rain all day. I haven't been hungry or thirsty lately, which is a real problem. I watched a bariatric webinar yesterday that said that if you are dehydrated, try not eating for the day and it will sort of reset your body. I only ate yogurt with berries and dinner yesterday. Today, I will only eat when I am hungry but I will focus on water intake. Dehydration is the #1 reason people end up back in the hospital after surgery. I made Couscous Risotto with Chicken and Spinach, an America's Test Kitchen recipe, for dinner last night. It was delicious!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Look at us learning stuff from each other! 😀There are never enough hours in a day!
@trooworld No sugar of any kind is added to the Paleovally bars. Here is the link to them and what they claim. I love the idea of all the clean ingredients. I’m supposed to get my order today, and I will let you know how they taste. I ended up just jumping yesterday, so my lower body isn’t hurting yet. Today’s the day! 😀 Yes, do make sure not to let yourself get dehydrated! I imagine those who end up in the hospital are not as diligent as you are in educating yourself on what has to be done to avoid setbacks. I hope you get on your walk today and drive carefully in all that rain! 🙂
Good morning! Yesterday was interesting. Joe and I went to First Watch for lunch, and he was great. Then we went to TJ Maxx, and he was OK for the most part, but towards the end, he started to struggle with his focus, so I got him home and gave him a nap. We can’t do very much these days. 😕 I’m going to do a full body weight lifting program today and finish up the Easter and Good Friday graphics that I need to get to the tech team this week. Have a good day!1 -
Hi 👋
I had another good day of no procrastination yesterday. 30 min cardio and 10 min lower body strength. I made some good food choices as well.
The sun is out today, but it is windy and cold, seeing the sun just makes you feel so much better.
My grandson is feeling better and back in school, so I'm not sure what my plan is, so I'll make it up as I go.
@19shmoo69 I saw this picture and thought of you.
