Accountability Check-ins, April 2025

Trying something new. Aiming to create a positive habit. I had a goal to get under 210 this month but I've been gaining weight instead! I haven't been logging, and drank to many beers / wines. Exercising, but clearly not enough. I've said I want accountability and support. Willing to provide as well. So I'm starting a discussion thread where I will be accountable to the group. I'll post every day / as best I can. Hope for empathy, support and encouragement. Hope others will post too - and I'll support you.

Outcome goals: Under 200 by July 4, under 210 by April 30

Process goals: Under 2100 calories + exercise 6+ days per week (this month, from here on)

This morning: 216. Yesterday, good workout at the gym. Stronger, better row. Didn't log, too many beers last night. Struggling still a bit with the leg pain from my back, ibuprofen is helping.

Today: I'll log my food, drink few calories, go for a bike ride, do some yardwork.

Starting tomorrow, I'll just do a short summary - won't be so long. Hope this helps!

    April 9.

    Yesterday - got a good hill climb bike ride in, logged. Hit 2100 cal but moving in right direction.

    Scale at 215.8 - down just .2. Today I'll play golf, walking with push cart on a hilly course. I'll eat pretty clean after the round.

    April 10.

    Weigh-in today, 213.6. Down 2.2 since yesterday. Goal for April - under 210. Goal for July 4 - under 200.

    Yesterday:

    Bad - didn't finish logging, drank two beers after golf and four glasses of wine in the evening.

    Good - Walked a hilly golf course, no food until a light lunch after the round (about 2), light dinner. The pain in my leg is diminishing. And of course, the scale had happy news for me this morning!

    Today I'll eat light and clean, get a good workout in at the gym, and go see the doctor about my leg pain (probably a back/spine issue).

    213.8 - up 0.2, but really validating yesterday's big drop. Still aiming for under 210 this month.

    Yesterday:

    Good: didn't eat all day, got a pretty good rowing and weights workout in. Bad: kind of pigged out in the evening, didn't log, drank several glasses of wine. I was SO hungry and guess I thought I had "earned" it. Probably OK.

    Today, I'll be more disciplined this evening. Probably eat some lunch to avoid the huge hunger.

    Thoughts? How are any of you doing?

    214.2 - up .4 - bummer. Still aiming for under 210 this month

    A little bummed out because I keep doing well during the day and not great at night. Don't log and drink wine. I can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results. 😫 On the other hand, got a good night's sleep and a long run in this morning so off to a good start today.

    Also, bummed because there are cricket's here on the group. I really want some accountability partnership. Haven't given up hope.

    Yesterday I did pretty well through the day, except I had orange peel chicken for lunch at a Chinese restaurant and didn't realize that the chicken would be breaded and fried. Hard golf practice, and a brisk 1.5 mile walk in the late afternoon. Did poorly at night - at beef stew without monitoring portions or logging, and drank some really nice red wine. So - up 0.4 lbs.

    Today I intend to skip the wine - I really want to give it up until I'm under 210, at least, log, and keep the Kcal under 2100. I already went for a 5 mile run and I'm going to be gardening a lot today, so I'll get the exercise in I need.

    I've wanted to get under 200 for the last 30 years. I have a real shot to succeed this year, by my birthday. I only need to lose 15 pounds in just under 3 months. Then on to 186 (or at least under 190). Then I'll really be pretty buff for being 63. That will be cool. One day at a time. I'm going to get in a good day today, and then another tomorrow. And day by day, I'll get there.

    How about any of you? Good, bad, in between?

    213.6 - down 0.8. Better exercise yesterday, ate too much, but logged.

    Good start today, pretty good day in the gym.

    210.3! down over three pounds! i'm going to make it under 210 this month!

    I think I'm pretty much done trying to make this work with this group. I found another, the monthly "Ultimate Accountability Challenge" - this month, for April 2025, they renew the group monthly - and it is more active.
