Happy Monday team! Today is National Thankful for Libraries Day!
So…what are you all reading lately? Any recommendations? I am finishing Kristin Hannah’s, “The Women,” which is the story of one woman’s experience as a surgical nurse during and after the Vietnam War. I love historical fiction, and this one was exceptionally touching and moving. Highly recommend

@nancyinmiami I knew it was National Library Month but missed the day, so thank you for pointing that out. I am a big reader, usually have 2-3 books going at any given time (1 book, 1 Kindle, 1 audiobook). I read The Women a while back and enjoyed it. I also love historical fiction. I just finished Pachinko and the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, enjoyed both. I just started The Light Between Oceans and am listening to a light rom-com called the Honeymoon Crashers. That has gotten me funny looks as I've busted out laughing multiple times at the gym. 😂

@izzyred9400 I'm not sure if it applies to you, but I also have problems posting pics. I exclusively use my android phone. I can't post pics on the app, but if I use the website on my phone's browser, I can upload pictures without a problem. It's one of the reasons I don't post many pictures.
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!

Everything was uneven from last week and gained a pound from whatever. I'm hoping that I can start to get back into my routines again. Being sick takes too much from me.

One more to add to the what-are-you-reading-list. Just started this last night. Not sure whether this will be a 👍 or 👎. If anyone has read it, I’m interested to hear your thoughts!
I know Emily Henry has a huge fan following. This is my first Emily Henry so we’ll see 🤷♀️

Just checking in because, well, I'm so far off track. Hoping to refocus and get my head back in the game.
I fell off track while sick last week and am struggling to get back to doing what I need to. My lungs still aren't 100% better, so running or any strenuous exercise is still out. But I could definitely be eating better. And I definitely should be tracking my food. I did make a healthy vegetable soup yesterday to help. Now I just need to cut back on extra snacking and make sure my portion sizes are within my goals.
It's a new day and I'm going to do better today. I hope everyone has a good day, and everyone who's struggling with sicknesses feel better soon!

I'm currently reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini, though it's been sitting on the side table, untouched, for a while as I haven't been very good at making time for reading lately. It's pretty good so far if you like dragons and fantasy.
I have recently read some of Freida McFadden books. They were entertaining enough, but after reading 3 of her books, I don't have a deep desire to continue reading her stuff. I feel like I've been there, done that, time for something new.
And I have read Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. It was a bit dry at points, but overall, was a pretty good read. Inspirational for runners, for sure.

@nancyinmiami I listened to that one and really enjoyed it. I liked Miles and the girl (who's name I forgot) that she works with who becomes her best friend. I've listened to a few of her books, I think this one and Happy Place were my favorites. There were a couple that I stopped listening to for one reason or another. I loved the audiobooks, they are something that I can listen to but not so in depth that I can't focus on other things - like driving. 😂 I've found her to be like Abbey Jiminez, sometimes hit or miss.

@Zaxa2021 I haven't read Eragon, dragons and such are more my daughter's thing than mine. However if we're talking Aragorn, that's another matter! Hubba hubba! 😂 My daughter and I were both glued to the LOTR movies, her for Legolas and me for Aragorn. LOL
I think the only Freida McFadden book I've read was the first in the Housemaid series. It was pretty good, plenty of twists, but again not something that I would typically read. I tend to favor historical fiction or contemporary adult fiction.

@Zaxa2021 oh I remember Eragon! There were a few years when just about every student of mine was carrying that book around! I’m not a dragons/fantasy girl, but because that book got so many of my non-readers actually reading, I had to pick it up. Excellent. @DaffyGirl88 glad to hear you liked Funny Story. I’m about 1/3 through so I’ll keep going. I’m usually a hold the book in my hands reader, but since my eye surgery, book reading is still a little difficult, so I’ve discovered the beauty of audiobooks. Where has this been all my life lol? I guess we learn something new every day 😊
