Love, LOVE the idea of a book club, @nancyinmiami !!! I know your first book is related to our weight loss journey, but don't be afraid to choose other books…and for your next selection, I'll join ya!!! GREAT IDEA!!! Tell me how this will work…will it be one certain day a week for discussions or will you set up something else for the weekly meeting?? Break it down for me…this will be fun! Will the members vote on the next book, or will you pick them to get things started?

So I’m really open to ideas, but I was thinking that once I know everyone who is interested, I’d set up a WhatsApp group (or even better, a sub-group in our MFP group), and get out a survey: would people prefer to leave comments in a thread or meet monthly on Zoom (or both), what genres people are interested in, etc. I am in a few book clubs but have never run one (but the retired teacher in me is drooling at the idea lol). We are starting with Atomic Habits, and after that, I love the idea of having participants vote. But if people want me to choose, I’ve got a HUGE stack in my “to be read” pile just waiting! Any ideas/suggestions you have (and anyone else for that matter) are ALWAYS appreciated 💜
And maybe the other Teams might be interested?

I'm currently reading "Forever Strong; A New Science -Based Strategy for Aging Well" by Gabrielle Lyon. So far no earth shattering information but I have found that even the same information presented in a different way by a different author sometimes makes more sense. This book focuses more on why older adults (such as myself 😁) need more protein to combat general age related muscle loss, and especially if you are trying to lose weight.
Next on my list is one of a series of books about a quilters guild in PA by Jennifer Chiaverinni. I bounce around a lot 😂 Both books are part of my haul from the local library sale.

I've read several of the Elm Creek Quilt series by her…REALLY want to read Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by her though…she's a good visual writer…meaning you can see what you read due to her writing style. Nothing like a good book! I love cozy mysteries, suspense, legal or medical mysteries, romance…just nothing too violent or dark. Even a paranormal mystery is ok with me…as long as it doesn't get too dark…will not read anything on the occult or horror books…just too dark for me.
If anyone else is on Goodreads.com, feel free to add me as a friend…I'm the only Jessica Krall in Chesapeake, Virginia.

🔖Notes~ I was on the slow and steady struggle-bus throughout a lot of this month. It’s nice to see I pushed through it!! Now, this upcoming week should be a different story… TOM is coming and I’m starting out the week with a family gathering(will be alcohol and food temptations all day)3 -
Reminder to all…if you seem to be missing or having repeated late weigh-ins and your chosen weigh-in date isn't working with your schedule, simply post a request to switch your weigh day and your Captains will get it changed for you. It will only take a day to get it moved and we certainly want the process to be easier for all of you.
Let us know what we can do to help you…we currently send out 1-2 reminders per week for missed weigh-ins…if there's anything you can think of that would be helpful, let us know. We're open to new ideas, ALWAYS.
Step Challenge Participants…
- Please post your steps every 2-3 days, as recording these takes time. We strive to keep our stats up-to-date and have started adding additional averages and other stats to be additional encouragement, but we cannot do so, if the step counts aren't provided in a timely manner.
- If you cannot commit to #1, please do not register for the step challenge.
Some of the other teams have started skipping months of the step challenge…would this be better, perhaps doing only every other month of it? Let us know please…it seems like it's full every month, but it's hard to get the reporting accomplished. Thanks to those of you who report in faithfully. It really does make things easier for us…and it IS appreciated greatly.

I'm working on the same thing…but am trying to take my walking in smaller pieces…10, 15, 20 minutes at a time and that seems to be working…still having a few swelling issues, but nowhere near what it was months ago…your steps are amazing!! Congrats on getting them up again! With your busy schedule that's a REAL accomplishment!! WTG!
FYI, make sure to watch for @frankwbrown 's analysis every week giving us averages…it really helped me wrap my head around the progress I've been making. I think you'll see the same!
