@TeresaW2024 Thanks, see below for the drama lol. Yes, I hope it works for our budget, I'll be looking at things this weekend. Thank you! Have you/are you considering getting some help to care for Joe? I'm glad to hear that you guys are on the mend now. I hope the mulch spreading went well.
Hi all. My husband is home but not without drama lol. I left at 9:05 am, got to the cell phone lot at about 11:05 am and sat and waited. Their plane came in without a hitch at about 12:20 and so then I set out from the lot to look for them. I got lost. Really lost. LAX has 8 terminals. I knew that. What I didn't know is that it has two levels and I was going around to their terminal but on the wrong level. So, I drove around all 8 terminals in stop-and-go traffic at least 6 times. Finally, my SIL sent me a pin of where they were standing and I figured it out. It took me over an hour to find them and I know all they wanted to do was go home, poor people. Traffic on the way back was kind of bad, we didn't get home until 5:45 pm. My husband brought me home cool souvenirs: some t-shirts with artists stuff on them, some bookmarks, authentic ramen noodles to make ramen soup out of, etc. I slept better last night than I have all week, I slept in until about 4:40 am.
Tracked yesterday? Yes

While I know hummingbirds are territorial I did not know they become violent. This bird was literally knocked to the ground in extreme fashion. Asked my wife to get it and they were friends for about an hour and it got fed really good and released.

Hi 👋
I've been nursing knee pain. When I was in the hospital I forgot about it because I wasn't really moving around. The firstt day I was home, I cleaned up the front yard garden and I've been nursing the knee pain ever since.
It's going to be a beautiful day today. I can't wait to get outside and enjoy it a little.
Y'all have a great day 😀

@TeresaW2024 - glad you two are on the mend, good luck!
@trooworld - nice! I want to read it after enjoying the movie. I'm going to get it from our library.
📥 I forgot to check in and out but last night was successful with no bingeing, so I have 7 DAYS COMPLETE!

WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE TODAY FROM @digger61
Reminder TO WEigh In Tomorrow To @19shmoo69 @sleepygirl79 @txcritter69Hi friends! Have a wonderful weekend, I'm trying to finish setting up my garden this weekend though it was a bust today with the trellis (an 18 ft fence with bamboo poles and one person with a billion fabric bags with plants was a hot mess, lost two tomatoes pulling out trellises and forgetting they were tied to them. I went to the cat rescue group I'm going to be volunteering with and hung out for a bit, I'm excited to be called to get kitties!
@bobboyardee Way to go on a week of no snacking you're kickin butt!
@trooworld OMG I'm so sorry to hear of how you were lost at the airport, huge hug to you that sounds like a nightmare! Not sure if you remember but late last year I got lost at the Kaiser when I went to pick my friend up from her colonoscopy, it took me 90 minutes to find my car and I felt so bad that she was waiting for me (and later found out she had cancer so felt even worse!). Airports are so easy to get confused at too.

@Cornanda Thanks, Lisa!
@DrewsAnna Enjoy your day.
@bobboyardee I hope you enjoy it. Congrats on 7 days binge-free! Way to go!
@Katmary71 That sounds like an overwhelming amount of work. How fun to volunteer for the cat rescue! Thanks, it WAS a nightmare! OH yes, I remember that so you know how I was feeling! Sorry about your friend's diagnosis.
@19shmoo69 Congrats on the loss.
Hi all. I'm so glad I am sleeping better. Back on my normal schedule, which is not perfect but better. My DH and I ran an errand yesterday and then had coffee at a coffee shop. Then we went to Little Italy to the farmer's market. It was a nice day. We did not go to the grocery stores, so now we will need to go today and I don't look forward to it because of the Memorial Day crowds. My DH made dinner last night: rigatoni with meat sauce. It was good but I didn't eat much.
Tracked yesterday? Yes

@TeresaW2024 - I'm sorry to hear Joe was sick. Sending you hugs because being a caregiver is not easy.
@DrewsAnna - glad to hear you got sprung from the hospital, and hoping your knee feels better soon.
@trooworld - Oh my goodness- the airport pick up sounds like a nightmare. I hate when my husband is gone too. A lot, I hate it. I'm glad you are sleeping better. You are doing so great with your weight loss!
@19shmoo69 - Wow- cool pix- Never seen a hummingbird that close, and I have a feeder for them. Thanks for sharing!
@bobboyardee - Congrats on completing 7 days! That must feel awesome! Keep up the good work!
@Katmary71 - Love that your weekend plans include gardening. Did I miss what you will be doing at the kitty rescue? Sounds like just the thing for you!
I've been off since Thursday at noon. Enjoying a good balance of relaxing and getting some projects done. It's been terrific and has reminded me of the importance of taking some time for myself. Today's plan is a family cook out. Tomorrow I am hoping to finally get some plants for my outdoor pots. It's been beastly hot here in Florida, but nice and cool in the morning, so DH and I are getting some long walks in. This morning, we saw two groups of deer and each had a tiny fawn.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I’m not sure how this happened! Wasn’t even that bad this week!3 -
@Cornanda that little fella was attacked by another hummingbird that had claimed the territory. It was knocked to ground and then attacked again. My wife is great with animals, total opposite of me, so I asked her to get it and see what could be done. We brought the feeder inside and she held it and fed it for about an hour. The feeder was kept inside so we could safely release the hummingbird without it being attacked again.

Hey everyone! Just a quick check-in to let you all know that Joe is back in the hospital. He was feeling really bad last night and was super bloated and in pain. They gave him a CT scan and said he has Colitis and another UTI. The doctor wanted him admitted and to be given IV antibiotics. So, I spent the whole day in the hospital, and I will be there at least most of the day tomorrow and maybe Tuesday. I came home just a while ago and hate leaving him so much, but there is no way my body could spend the night in that place. He was bugging me to go home to Maggie, and I will be back up early tomorrow. I'll be back when I can! 🤨
@trooworld, your airport pick-up sounded like a freaking nightmare. I can only imagine how stressed you were. I'm glad you are sleeping better. 🙂

@19shmoo69 - that is crazy that those tiny, cute little birds can be so violent. Thank goodness for your wife and her gift with animals
@txcritter69 - Congrats! That must feel awesome!
@TeresaW2024 - so sorry to hear Joe is in the hospital. Will be thinking of you both.

@19shmoo69 WOO HOO! Congrats on 1st place! Congrats to the whole team for achieving 2nd place! And a shout-out to @txcritter69 for also making the honor roll! :)
@baodell17724 Welcome back!!!
@Cornanda Oh it was, girl! My anxiety was so high and I was so upset. My husband was telling me to calm down when I was talking to him trying to find him lol. Thank you! That's great you have been off since Thursday, how nice! Taking some time for yourself is so important. I hope you enjoyed the cookout. Yay for the walks with DH! How cute to see the deer.
@txcritter69 Congrats on your loss! This is happening!
@TeresaW2024 Oh no, Teresa, I'm so sorry! I hope your Joe gets out soon and is back to better health. Yes, the airport pick-up was really bad, I hated it lol. Thanks.
Hi all. Yesterday was pretty nice. Got all my groceries with no problems (I thought because it was Memorial Day weekend, the stores would be extra busy but it was okay). I still have to plan for the joining of the gym, I have to add it to our budget. So, we haven't joined yet. I watched a YouTube video where this guy (I've seen his videos before) takes ground beef and makes it 4 different ways. I liked the idea of 3 of the 4 recipes so I saved them and made one of them last night: Indian-Inspired Keema Curry. It was really easy to make and would have been better than it was had I added 2 more tsp of salt and 1 more tsp of curry powder. I will make it again. Here's the video, in case you want to check it out:

Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @TeresaW2024 @FushiaKat0 -
@DrewsAnna Hugs I hope your knee is feeling better soon! Do you use any of the topical things for it or does ice/heat help?
@trooworld SO glad you’re sleeping better with your husband home! Ugh I hope the Memorial Day crowds aren’t too bad and you can get your shopping done. If you aren’t buying BBQ stuff maybe you can avoid people by going later? I may do that. LOL just read your husband telling you to calm down when you were lost that is the WORST thing to say when you’re seconds from a panic attack or in the middle of it. Thanks for sharing the recipes I’m defrosting ground beef right now so I’m looking forward to watching this.
@Cornanda I’m glad you’re getting a lot done it’s so easy to forget stuff at home and resting but feels amazing getting things done and resting. Have a wonderful time with the family cookout! Can’t wait to see your pots I hope you share. Aw I bet the deer and fawn were adorable. With the rescue group I’ve been seeing how slammed the local rescues are and sent a note offering to help. I was invited to come to Petco while they were there Saturday and met everyone and discussed fostering. Sadly only a few people came and looked at the cats up for adoption with the holiday weekend.
@txcritter69 Congratulations you’re doing wonderful with weight loss!
@sleepygirl79 Hang in there you got this! It could be something you ate or the body holding onto sodium/fluctuations. I go up about 5lbs when I’m in a flare.
@19shmoo69 Hummingbirds can be pretty mean with how territorial they are I’m glad your wife was able to give it some TLC. Beautiful little guy. I want to put up hummingbirds but don’t want them to bully each other, not sure if there’s a way to avoid it. Look at you holding the top individual spot for Fat2Fit, you go!
@TeresaW2024 I’m so sorry to hear Joe’s in the hospital, sending up prayers he’s feeling better and home soon. No wonder he was feeling so bad, I hope the antibiotics work fast. I’m glad you came home to get some rest sleeping in the hospital is horrible and you need to be able to think to make decisions for Joe so please don’t feel bad.
YAY MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES IN 2ND PLACE THIS WEEK! CONGRATULATIONS @19shmoo69 @txcritter69 @trooworld at being out top winners! 62.5% in the green is amazing!
@baodell17724 Great to see you back, jump right in!
Hi friends! Yesterday we celebrated my SIL’s birthday, we went to a Thai restaurant near my parent’s house. I spent a little time in the yard and got some work done in the morning. I’d love to learn how to make Thai food like that restaurant it’s so good, I tried the Mango Chicken and it had a lot of veggies. Did have the brownie and ice cream and am feeling it today (sugar makes my pain worse). When I got home I started looking for my electric brush scrubber plug to charge it and ended up staying up half the night cleaning, I still haven’t found it but threw away a few bags of stuff. The pile of random wires in the middle of my bedroom right now is ridiculous! I’m working on cleaning up the bedroom foster kittens will go in, it’s my seed starting room/exercise room but I can’t use that exercise equipment anymore and I need to get all the lights, heating mats, and dirt cleaned up and put away (no wires to chew). My nephew offered to help me with my trellis so I think I’ll take him up on it later in the week. Have a great Monday gang!

Hi everyone !!! Glad to be back with y'all !!! THANKS FOR THE WELCOME !!! Sorry for flaking out and disappearing back in January (???) or whenever how long ago it was. I made the mistake of joining too many challenges here at MFP, and then got terribly confused as to if I posted my daily/weekly accountability info. So got disgusted with myself and deleted the whole "mess" of them. Nothing much new, though still faithfully on my weight-loss journey… that is after "falling off the wagon from mid-November to mid-January and gaining 20-ish pounds back. As of today, I'm at 209.4 lbs (down from my starting weight of 286.2 lbs on June 1st, 2024). Since I'm coming up on my one-year anniversary I was anxious to be back with y'all again, as I still have a ways to go still. [Target weight is still 160 lbs. but it still all depends on how I look/feel.] Oh, the other thing I DID do was join TOPS, so I now am able to attend their online ZOOM weekly men's meeting… I'd been looking for a face-to-face accountability group for the past year, and so glad to have finally found one. Looking forward to the June challenge with all the great info. and camaraderie that comes with it !!!😊

@Cornanda I save all my recipes in Plan to Eat. It's very helpful. It's a paid site, once a year during Black Friday week, they have a 50% off sale so it ends uip being $24.95 for the year (I think). I find it worth it. There is a 14-day free trial and then you can pay $5 monthly or $50 a year. Other sites I've used: Pepperplate, Paprika. I liked both of those and I think they are free!
@Katmary71 Thanks! Oh, I did get my shopping done on Sunday and the crowds weren't too bad. Surprisingly. You are right: that was the worst thing he could have said lol. I almost went off on him! I love Thai food, it's my favorite! One of the ground beef recipes in that video is a Thai-inspired recipe that I will try later this week. The thing with making Thai food is that it usually requires specialized ingredients from the Asian supermarket, like dried shrimp, tamarind paste, etc. so I don't make it too often. I do have some Thai recipes, if you want any let me know! I'm sorry you ended up staying up half the night cleaning. I didn't know you were going to have foster kittens, that is awesome! When are they coming?
@baodell17724 I can see how that could happen. Congrats on losing 76.8 lbs! That's very impressive! I hope you like TOPS and that it helps to have the face-to-face accountability. I see you are doing the book club, so am I! I look forward to "seeing" you online as long as it works for our schedules!
Hello all. Yesterday was pretty nice: we took the dogs for a longer walk (as long as the dogs would walk...Daisy stops walking after a certain distance), then dropped them off at home and went to a coffee shop and read. Came home and took a nice nap. It was relaxing. I made dinner: Chicken Tikka Kebab and grilled zucchini slabs. I was supposed to use the grill for both of these but didn't feel like messing with it so I cooked the chicken on the stove and used the oven for the zucchini. The chicken was the best thing I've made in a while. Today is back to work. It's nice that it is Tuesday though, the week will go by quickly! We have plans to join the gym on Friday.
