August Week 1 Group Challenge - Partner Walking Challenge (2nd Week)

Last week's Partner Walking Challenge was amazing and we are extending it for a 2nd Week! Everyone found it to be motivating and it really kept all of us moving for the week.
Please find a partner and join us for an exciting week of walking together! We simply need your sign-up to walk in the chat thread and your team name for the week. Once we have you on the roster, you simply walk and report your total steps for the day individually and my spreadsheet scoring will do the rest. I will report the stats every other day and you can chat with your friends and keep things moving! Post pictures of your walk, your pets, memes, motivational quotes and keep the momentum high throughout the week!
Looking forward to another great week of walking, sharing and motivating each other. Did I forget to mention, there will be a prize for the winning team members, which will only require your email address and I will request that at the end of the week! See you in the chat thread!

Hi, new here. I have been a MFP member for a year, but have never turned on my computer before yesterday. I had no idea all of this support was even out here. Trying to learn and navigate it, but quite overwhelmed by it all.
Would love any walking support or motivation. I have knee, hip, back and neck issues. Yes, I am a hot mess, but not willing to throw in the towel. 60 is the new 40!

Hello @hera1064, welcome! In addition to the support you'll get from fellow team members, and the encouragement you'll get posting your weight each week, we have weekly challenges and a monthly step challenge.
- Monthly Step Challenge — all you need do to join this monthly challenge is:
- State what you want as a daily step goal: 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, whatever you want
- Name a place (or a few places) where you like to walk.
- Then, daily or at least 3 times/week, post your step count in the team chat thread.
- This month's week 1 challenge also happens to be a step challenge:

Would love any walking support or motivation. I have knee, hip, back and neck issues. Yes, I am a hot mess, but not willing to throw in the towel. 60 is the new 40!
I have knee, ankle and swelling issues in my left leg, so I get it, completely! First make sure you discuss with your doctor or nurse practitioner…whoever is your GP and get their blessing…then just start slowly and listen to your body. On bad days, I walk in ten minute intervals, all inside because I live in the south and cannot breath in high humidity. If I'm having a good day, I can do 20-60 minutes. Set yourself small goals and perhaps try to do five minutes more on occasion and see how you feel. If you need to rest, do so. It's a marathon, not a sprint, so slow and steady, like the tortoise.
Which team are you with? I'm sure you have a great chat thread for discussions…another opportunity for feedback, ideas and support. Also, did you know we just started a book club…Check it out too…not 100% on health/nutrition, but it's nice to have balance. Here's the link for that:

Hope this helps…go ahead and start walking if you're interested…this challenge only runs from today through Saturday and they change weekly, as far as content, but all five teams have a step challenge every day, I believe…check with your team.

Week 1 of our Partner Up Challenge ended yesterday and here are the final results:
CONGRATULATIONS to WALKIN on SUNSHINE!!! WAY TO GO @Zaxa2021 and @frankwbrown !!!!! 196,598 combined steps! WOW! Sole Sisters were VERY close to that as well! Great job ladies! Zaxa and Frank, if you would like a small prize emailed to you, please post your email address.
