Today's Topic: Goals
Does activity just mean dealing with what life throws at you in a day? Do you have general goals, like “do X each day”? Are your goals more specific, like a given number of steps walks or miles run or biked?

My goal is 7000 steps/day.
I fail a lot.

I always hated goal-setting at work. Now I'm retired and don't have to do that anymore. When I run I have a route planned, so the distance is planned, but that isn't really a goal.

I have a bunch of specific daily goals. For example, I try to run at least 4 miles a day (Sun-Fri), I try to learn one page of gemara (a "daf") a day, etc. Those goals, however, leave lots of room for other stuff to "just happen," and I try to afford myself additional flexibility when I'm away (as I am now).

Walk an hour per day. Sometimes more. Heat and thunderstorms have been driving me into the gym a lot of days. Not as good. But I keep my time slot filled with some kind of activity lest I fill it with sitting on the couch eating something.
My ego driven weight training goals turned out to be a bad idea. Just finished the physical therapy.

Well somehow l got LTL Monday on Wednesday. I kept getting an error saying bad access from browser or something like that. So here was my post.
My walking goal is 5000 steps per say. I rarely hit. My walking comes through most of my daily activities.
I have food and weight goals but have been distant thoughts for sometime.
I actually even at 78 love and need goals and goal setting however when I get busy with Real Estate Brokerage Firm, everything seems to stop as that takes preference when things arise.

Like Phil, I’m pretty strongly anti-goal after working in an organization that felt if we weren’t overloaded, we wouldn’t work. Taken quite a while to get past arbitrary goals set based on an executive's b9nus plan rather than the reality of the work involved. (Yup, still pisses me off.)
I have some general goals - a stretching routine in the mornings, and some cardio after that. The routine defines the time on the stretching, and my mood combines with the weather to determine how much cardio I do. So there’s no magic number of steps or duration, but there’s an assumption I’ll get some exercise in.0 -
I try to cycle, indoors or outdoors in good weather, most days of the week, aiming for 30 to 60 minutes.
