@LowTechForever That made me LOL. At least the food and wine in Spain is affordable. I bought 2 bottles of the sh%^&tiest wine yesterday for nearly 35 bucks. I am going back on the wagon too, at least until this Halloween wedding we are attending.

@SunnyDays930 Not only is the food and wine affordable, it’s really good quality too. They definitely keep the best stuff for themselves and I don’t blame them!

Hi everyone, I am back after a brief, but substantial lapse. Started up again on October 3rd. This is a significant date for me. It was my father's birthday. He passed away from suicide in 1993 at age 58. It was definitely alcohol-related, as was my brother's. Ironically, October 3rd is also "World Temperance Day" - Whoa. It's also "Butterfly and Hummingbird Day" and "Look at the Leaves Day!" and "World Smoothie Day". So here I go again!

I will try to be more consistent about posting every day.

    Hi everyone,

Happy weekend! I've been "off and on" since my last post and just did (yet another) "Sober Time" app reset this Friday, October 10th (beginning 7pm) as my fresh, "DAY ONE". This date also coincides with "World Mental Health Day", which is so fitting for me, since my drinking alcohol is so closely linked with the state of my own mental health.

I think I need to start posting daily in order to stay more accountable. I've been "slacking off" WAYYY too much! I know I've said this so many times before, but I take need to "stay the course" this time. My weight is about 158 right now, but I'd like to get down to about mid-140's by the New Year, and to achieve my goal of BMI under 25 by Spring, 2026.

I'm hoping the Fall season will inspire me. So here I go!

    Enjoy your weekend,

    💗Carole

    Hey there,

Is anyone interested in joining a challenge to lose 5-10 lbs. (or more) by the end of the year? If so, please feel free to join me at this link:

It would be great to abstain from alcohol while forming other good habits along the way so we can ring in the new year healthier and happier!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Today is day 2 for me. Sober for 32 hours.

I joined the family for a football party and abstained. But I was bored and wanted to go home early. I was the DD for them so I stayed and put on a happy face. I can see how alcohol makes the "good times roll" for a moment, but then you are stuck for the rest of the and night lamenting. After I got home, I was able to get some things done, while husband rested on the couch (he drank a bunch).

My fitbit sleep score was great this morning- 86 score.

Carole- I'm happy we are back focusing on our health and happiness.

@RubyRed427 Your post inspired me. I drank a lot of wine on a girls weekend away this past weekend. I am off Semaglutide (generic Wegovy, Ozempic etc) and my tolerance for alcohol is increasing. It wasn't enough to be embarrassing but I think I drank more than the other women. Between that and a bumpy sleep sofa, I am exhausted and look terrible. Anyway, I am going to abstain until Halloween, when we have a wedding. Although I must say, I have been to 3 weddings sober in the last couple of years and enjoyed them very much. I, too, want to focus on my health and happiness.

@SunnyDays930 I hear you! It was a ton of fun while it lasts and then the anxiety, racing heart, woeful thoughts are hard to take. My face looks aged. Dry and deep lines due to dehydration.

I'm happy you enjoyed yourself however. Onward and upward.

Oh dear. Not doing so well. I panic and freeze when I am facing overwhelming stress, and I pour the wine to find relief. I am going on a trip with friends in a few days. I will have to be mindful of my drinking.

Lately, my ears are ringing all the time. I looked online and it can be due to stress (Yes) and alcohol (Yes). Today, I will get a massage. I haven't had one in a year or so.

Wishing you all a happy weekend!

    Hi everyone,

Oh, well. "Flubbed up" again, beginning this past Friday. I had a real hard time at work due to a pretty big error, and I'm fearful about my upcoming, annual review and even my future with this employer. BIG time binging because I was trying to "escape". Didn't work, of course. Stopped ALL alcohol last evening. I will abstain over the next several days as a test of my resolve, but will wait to set my "official" Soberversary reset until the stroke of midnight when Halloween begins, 10/31/2025! Then, each Halloween thereafter I can celebrate my sobriety!

I keep disappointing myself, over and over again. I'm having some internal pain on my right side now. I feel like it's a "red flag" warning.

STILL, I'm not giving up on ME! (Hope you're hanging in there, too!)

I will try to check in daily going forward.

    Enjoy your day

    💞Carole

    Hi Carole,

I had a boozy vacation. Most days were fine- a few glasses of vodka soda at the pool and one in the evening. But Saturday night, I binged. I lost track of what I was drinking and how many, and then I didn't eat much. I threw up. My friends helped me. They rock!

So all day yesterday, I had to travel hungover. That was lots of fun. Not.

I'm 36 hours AF as of now, and I slept like a dream. I'll keep trying.

Thanks Carole for sharing your experiences with us. I hope things go well with work. I know that stress can be a big trigger, and you just want to forget all your troubles. Sending you big hugs.

    Hi everyone,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!🎃 Well, I've been really slacking off (a LOT), but now I'm BACK and I am kicking off a brand-new, "DAY ONE" beginning TODAY (12am this morning)! I will try to be more consistent with my posting going forward.

Hi RubyRed427, I'm so glad you're back on track as well and already feeling better! Hugging you right back!❤️
