That's it, curious about where you have your macros set and why.

Guess I should give mine. 40/40/20 because I wanted just over 1 g of protein per pound (I'm 123 - 127 and this gives me 140), and I wanted my carbs high enough to allow for ice cream and fruit and not just ice cream.

    40/30/30 because it's closest to getting my 1g protein/LBM.

As a vegan it's pretty hard for me to go higher on protein. Upping my fat has made me so much happier and my hair is improving tremendously

I actually gave up on tracking fat.

    1g/lb lean mass minimum
    .35g/lb bodyweight fat

Currently reverse dieting to maintenance, at 2350 kcal now.

Remainder gets dispersed among p/f/c, most of it in carbs but as the aboves are mins, I regularly go over on protein. Not even sure what setting I used on MFP to get there, maybe I should go check :)

I am noticing better fat losses with higher percentages of protein and fats but I still like to enjoy fruit and other carbs. Working well so far!

Does anyone else smell like ammonia?
From what I've read it means too much protein and not enough fats and carbs to burn during exercise. I don't think my protein is out of whack, though. Not that I smelled like a patch of wild dasies before I customed my macros, but I can't handle this.

Not familiar with the above but as a general rule, most of the articles on the bb.com supersite are stuffed full of BS. Forums on the other hand = very good info.

I'm eating 1400 cal. base + exercise cals and that gets me pretty close to 1g protein per lb. of body weight. I'm usually a little under on the fat and sometimes over on the carbs, my main focus is getting enough protein.

Yes, I had this previously while on my high protein-low carb diet. It can be an indication of ketosis, but not necessarily. It can also simply be the timing of your workout to your recent meal & what the protein/carb makeup of that meal was. If that's the case, just add some carb to your pre-wo meal. But no harm in either case.

But all I really watch is protein.
  • 1g per lb of body weight for protein
.35 x body weight for fat
rest of calories go to mainly carbs, but fats and protein without trying lol

I can't seem to follow percentages. I like just working with grams

I am a total endomorph, so my percentages are 45% protein, 35% carbs, and 20% fat. If I have more carbs than that, I tend to get sleepy...very sleepy, lol. More fat than that and I tend to overeat. This is just my personal sweet spot. It might be too much protein for some, but this is the way that I lose body fat when I eat a deficit and gain lean mass when I eat a surplus.

Yeah, I have mine set at 40/30/30 but I really just try for at least 130 grams protien, which I get easily, and I think 60 grams of fat which again isn't had when you eat as much as I do.

I usually eat around 1800-2000 calories a day and get 120-140 grams of protein. I'm still trying to lose the fat with minimal muscle loss.

I have 35% fat and carbs, and 30% protein. I'm bulking at the moment so 30% is more than enough protein for me (210g before exercise) I find it hard enough getting that.

Will probably change to 35% protein when I'm cutting and drop 5% from fat or carbs, not sure which yet though. Any ideas would be appreciated, I'd still be on 2000/2100 a day NET so neither would be low in terms of grams.
