Amazon released their top 20 books of 2011 based on editorial opinions not sales. What do you think? How many have you read? Sadly I haven't read any but have heard good things about a few of them.

I'm going to school to become a librarian and had readers' advisory class tonight and a few of these were talked about tonight.
Lost in Shangri-la, Bossypants, and The Greater Journey. It was non-fiction tonight.

I've not read any of the either. Haven't even heard of half of them. Would love to read Bossypants though! Almost bought Night Circus and didn't. May have to add that back to my list.
  • I haven't read any of those either.... but bossypants is sitting on my nook waiting for me to get to it eventually

I haven't read any of these yet, but I usually don't get to the new ones until they arrive at my library. Some of them look very promising! :)

I want to read The Greater Journey, it is about Americans in Paris in the 1800's. I think would be very interesting to read about the type of people living there at that time. I haven't read any of the books by David McCullough, I've heard hes a fantastic non fiction writer.

The Night Circus is AMAZING!!!! Best book I have read all year. I got it on my Nook, and when I finished, I thought "Well, crap... I need a physical copy of this book..." An E-reader only copy just isn't going to cut it.

    It is simply magical.

The mini-review in that article is odd though... the story is FAR more about Celia and Marco, the magicians. Bailey's role is important, but small, in my opinion.

Anyway - I HIGHLY reccommend The Night Circus. I spent last Saturday reading the whole book, and have already started it again. =)

I've only read "Before I Go To Sleep," which was excellent. I have quite a few of the others on my list, though.

I'll have to add that to my "to read" list!
