Stay motivated today, and just keep punching.

  • Ugh I am having issues staying motivated today. I need to stop with my instant gratification attitude :P

My brain is doing its usual self-sabotage thing...."it's not working, go eat something you have given up, it's not going to matter how much you exercise, it's not coming off..."

Quitting smoking was easier than having to listen to that voice so I am trying to drown it out.

I don't have that much weight to lose but I have never been a healthy person. You know how I have lost the weight in the past? Stress, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. Yep, that was my diet. And I was one of those people who was able to keep it off until I quit smoking. (nicotine is an appetite suppressant and honest, other than a meal thrown in here and there, I literally lived off coffee and cigs).

Now I am doing it the right way. Exercise, watching what I eat etc. and my sensible brain knows this is the way to go and that it will enhance my life in the long run. I need to just push past this. My lungs didn't heal overnight....it's been a year and even though they are 100% better than they used to be they are not 100% of what they could be.

What a pity party hey? Feel free to toss kleenex my way LOL.

Smoking has to be one of the hardest habits to let go of.

My father and my husband are former addicts.

This eating thing is in the bag for you, with a little support, you'll whip it's butt too.

Smoking is hard - very hard, especially when trying to lose fat.
To see this through, look deep inside and answer for yourself:
Why do I want to be fit and smoke free?
And attach great pleasure to that as you set this goal.

And then answer for yourself this:
Why don't I want to be fat? Why must I never smoke?
Attach great pain to all the reasons you do not want to be fat or be a smoker.

Few people can actually do this which is why most people fail.
This is the key to internal motivation.

Thanks, Max! I think I needed to hear this after a few rocky days of wavering devotion.
