My Favorite Breakfast Meal - Steel Cut Oats

I prepare my steel cut oats in advance and follow the instructions on the McCann's Steel Cut OatMeal can.
4 cups of boiling water to 1 cup of oats (adding vanilla extract to the water gives it a great taste)
Stir constantly until the oats are boiling rapidly and swell up a bit
Then cook for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
Once they are cooked, place the entire pan full into an oblong plastic storage container and store in the fridge.
The next morning, cut the oats in your storage container into four equal sized servings.
Place one quarter (one serving) in a microwaveable bowel, add up to 1/4 cup of milk (whatever your preference, I use almond or soy) and microwave for 30 second.
Stir and add 1 tbsp of either Pumpkin butter or Honey Apple Butter
Reheat in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. If you prefer, you can add sweetener (factor in your calories if you use something other than an 0 calorie sweetener), but to me it is great without it.
Oats (1/4 of your total prepared)
Calories: 150, Total Fat 2.5g (sat fat 0.5g, trans 0g, polyunsat 1g and monosat 1g), cholesterol 0g, sodium 0g, Total carbs 27g (dietary fiber 3g, soluble fiber 2g, insoluble fiber 2g), sugar >1g, protein 4g, calcium 2% and iron 8%
Milk - see the nutritional value of 1/4 cup of the milk of your choice
Trader Joe's Pumpkin Butter 1tbsp
Calories: 40, total fat 0g, cholesterol 0g, sodium 0g, total carbs 10g, sugars 9g, protein 0g, vit a 20%

Trader Joe's Honey Apple Butter 1tbsp
Calories: 35, total fat 0g, cholesterol 0g, sodium 0g, carbs 9g, sugars 8g, protein 0g, vit c 160%0 -
