I am only on day 18 but I am fine with no cardio BUT it is a different mind set for me, like I am still wanting to eat under cals, or have to tell myself it's ok if I eat the holiday treats if I stay under cals, but I am really trying to get the protein and eat every three hours and focus on nutrition because I know that is where it will really matter.
There'll be plenty of time for cardio, just imagine cardio is burning all the muscle you are trying so hard to build-it's your foundation. You can get rid of fat later;)

Oh goodness!! Thank you... I think my cals burned may be a bit underestimated (believe it or not) so I may have to try to get to 1800 cals per day before exercise. Now I am at about 1600. I will stick with this for now and move up in a couple weeks...

yeah, I don't log exercise, I know everyone thinks lifting burns calories, but it doesn't really, so I am making notes about exercise, sometimes, but I don't log a calorie burn because I am just lifting in Phase 1.
Here is an interesting article on why HRMs cannot accurately measure calories burned through strength training:

Don't freak out about the cardio!

I went from being a cardio queen (6x a week, spinning, zumba, elliptical, etc.) and eating 1200 cal/day to lifting heavy and eating around 1800-2100 cal a day. Well, I've lost body fat! I had to give away pants/skirts because they were too loose. I was on another program where I also couldn't do cardio for 1 month or so.

Trust the program... Cardio will come back soon enough (and now I'm about to go into Phase 2 and really, I don't want to do any cardio anymore, hehe).

Didn't you feel yucky and bloated though? Does a "switch " happen?
  • I just started the program this past Monday...glad to see I'm not the only one that was freaked out about no cardio! Looking forward to seeing results...hopefully I can lose inches and body fat before my husband comes back from his deployment!

This is great to hear. Im only on day 6 and I feel super lazy bc Im not burning 700 cals at the gym everyday, but at the same time Im not gaining weight, so Ill take it!
  • Today is my rest day...feels so wierd to not get ready for the gym...my day is open to all possibilities now! More shopping here I come!
