Week 1, April 29 to May 5

Week 1, the 3 exercises this week are all the same, here we go!

Day 1:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk.
Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
five-minute cool down walk.

Day 2:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk.
Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
five-minute cool down walk.

Day 3:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk.
Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
five-minute cool down walk.

Good luck!! We can do this! If you are having trouble then take it slow and repeat the week if you have to! Remember to put a x on the spreadsheet (or a number if you have to do one multiple times).

I'm a little ahead of you guys but it's so nice to have a support group to finish this app. I've done it before but gave up 1/2 way through it. Anyway, last week I got through Week 1 (on a treadmill) but I was going to re-do Week 1 and increase my speed on the interval laps slightly.

Day 1 yesterday. I went slow but made sure to completely jog the full 60 secconds, walk the full 90 seconds etc. I haven't ran in, well, I don't remember the last time! Those 60 second intervals seemed to get longer and longer each time LOL

I have completed the first two days! They both went well. I have completed the Couch to5k program before, but this time I am working to improve my speed!

I did week 1 day 1 on Sunday evening, with one of my dogs.
It went well, but I was relieved on the last round. it was a 10 minute walk back home, which was NICE.
I was thrilled that it was the first time that I got my fitbit flower up to 6 leaves.

Week 1, Day 1 complete. I have done this program before but haven't run in close to a year now so I'm starting over. It works!

I completed week 1 day 1 on Monday and my ankle started aching the next day. It feels worlds better now but I think my first week is going to stretch out longer than most. I want to make sure it's 100% before I start again.

Make sure you take it easy! I did C25k in October and had to quit in week 3 due to tendinitis in my ankle.

Started day 1 today... Waited for my S.O. to join me, because he will provide the motivation to stick it out. Otherwise, I know I would just quit. It was great to have him beside me, suffering with me lol. Although he's got a higher metabolism and a skinny body naturally, he's just as out of shape as I am. That made me feel better about the whole thing!

    Keep going!

Day 3 complete. Awesome. Still working on the shin pain though and hope it goes away completely at some point. Oh, and I'm doing this on the treadmill right now. I'll move it outside at some point.

I started the C25K last week (on Thursday 26th ) and am loving it so far.

I completed week 2 session 1 last night and found it quite difficult in parts, my legs were burning but I pushed through and made it to the end which is pretty massive achievement as I have never been a runner. My body was built for comfort not for speed!

I can already see a difference in my general stamina and so far have managed to run for all the designated time which I'm quite surprised about. Am looking forward to my next session already.

Would love some support if anyone wants to add me as a friend :)

Finished Week 1 on Tuesday and I'm psyched to start Week 2 tonight! Who knew I could get this excited about running!? It's also so inspiring to know that you're all out there doing it too.

Day 3 is in the books. I did today on the treadmill again. My goal is 2 days a week on the treadmill and 1 day outside because the outside is killing me!!

I am so glad to find this post - I started on Monday, so I am right in line with most of the group. I am happy that the high school track is only a few blocks from home and that we can use it. My husband is my running partner at the track, and my little ones play on the football field while we do our work out. I do think it is a good program, and am excited for the results but I have not fallen in love with "running" yet. By the last lap (my husband actually pushes me to go a little longer than the required 20 minutes) I don't think that I am running any faster than I was walking, but I am out there doing it and has seemed a tiny little bit easier each night.

I have perpipartum cardiomyopathy (heart failure) and have been told for 20 years to avoid running because of my knees, so I was really afraid to get started, afraid that I wouldn't even be able to do the first night. I did end up extending a few of the walks on the first night. But tonight on my third night we actually did over 23 minutes and threw a 90 second "run" in at the end.

Great job to everyone that has started on this journey, no matter where you are at this point, the important thing is that you have started!
