Hey guys! Tomorrow will be my two-week anniversary of eating more. I am up ... eeeeek ... 10 whole pounds. Yes. My clothes still fit well ... except for my bras. It seems like I have more back fat or something. It's kinda strange. But, I am full and feel great! I have hypothyroidism and I think my meds are a bit off (they were recently adjusted), so I'm going Wednesday for a blood test to see if I need further adjustments. I get extremely tired very early in the day and I feel like I can sleep for hours once I do lay down. I'm averaging 9-10 hours a night and am STILL tired, which is not normal for me.

I took last week off from exercising, but I am headed back tomorrow morning for BodyPump! The class is at 5:40, but I will be getting up about an hour before to make it to my gym for some additional lifting before class. I find that Pump doesn't really work my inner thighs, my abs and my back adequately. Wednesday and Friday I'll be taking a spin class at 5:45 a.m., along with another BodyPump class on Thursday. Saturday will be my circuit workout at my boyfriend's gym. He lives an hour away, so I workout there on Saturdays.

I'm taking Diurex to battle some water retention that I can feel in my fingers and feet. I'm also taking probiotics for digestion issues. I cannot wait for the scale to start going down ... this 10 pound gain is really, really, really weighing on me mentally! I promised myself I'd never be above 220 again ... and here I am! I keep telling myself to trust the process ... eating less was DEFINITELY not working for me ... and all that I've read supports the theory of eating more. I just have to give it time, have a little faith and learn to breathe when that scale is up.

I am working on getting my macros balanced correctly and eating the right foods while trying to be budget-friendly, too!

I don't know if it was you that I mentioned this before...I say so many things to diff people hard to remember who I said what too...BUT when you get your results for your thyroid be sure to ask where you fall in the "range"...I was on the low end and felt horrible for me to feel good I have to stay at the higher end of the "range". If you aren't feeling great and they say your numbers are find...ASK...that totally changed my life.

    Hi~

Today is my first day of "Eating More to Weigh Less"! I am looking at my diary so far and I'm already over 1000 calories~EEEEK!!!

I had TWO morning snacks~ a regular one and one after my workout (100 calorie pack of Almonds) and you would have thought I was robbing a bank~ I felt like such a criminal!!

And would you believe I'm actually having a hard time thinking of what to add to get more calories?? How did I ever get to 200 pounds?

I am planning to stay OFF the scale until I see some significant INCHES coming off~ I know how I am and if I see those gains, it'll kill my spirit so I'm better off just avoiding it.

So here we go friends and the best of luck to all!!

You would be amazed...it is easy to gain weight when a person yo-yo diets. Each cycle resets the metabolism lower which leads to faster weight gain, which then forces the person back on the restricted diet...it is a vicious cycle.

You may want to think of doing a metabolic reset. Which is eating TDEE for 8 wks...yes, you will have a bit of weight gain, then you will stabilize...at the 8wk mark you can then do a cut of 15% and experience a loss. Just a suggestion...

I absolutely second what Lucia said. Most doctors will just tell you "oh you're within normal range" but I'm also hypo and I know when I'm at the very high end of the range or very low end of the range, I feel horrible. When my TSH is between 1 and 2 is when I feel best. So it's always best to ask for your specific number!!!
  • Good morning!
It's only been a week for me so far.  I lost .3lbs when I thought for sure I was going to gain. Oh yeah..TOM came by for a visit day before weigh in;). I am still bracing myself for a gain because I hear that happens.  My first week I been really tired and waking up really thirsty around 4 am.  Not sure if it was because of the change i cals increases or I was coming down with something.  The funny thing is before I was really low on my iron because I don't eat read meat.  Now after increasing my calories I am pretty close to my iron levels most days.
So, I do believe that when we eat less we are missing out on some vital nutrients that our bodies really needs.

    Have a wonderful day!

I'm proud of you!!! Keep goingyour good work!!!

    Miss Lucia~

You are wise beyond your years! I never looked at it that way which is amazing since I've been round and round the block with this!

My TDEE is 2360 and trying to get to that IN A HEALTHY WAY will be challenging. Yesterday I got to 1700+ and I felt like I was a piglet!
But you are right and I DO feel good (better) eating more. I am trying to time it and made sure I ate a snack immediately after after working out in addition to a regular snack yesterday~ unheard of!!
I will try to "eat my way up" as much as I can~ the temptation to eat poorly is there though and last night I thought how could I get over 400 calories in the easy way? Have a bowl of ice cream! Fortunately I didn't.

Anyway, thank you so much taking all of this time with me and the rest of us here~

Thanks for the support!! The last time I had my TSH levels checked, I had fallen to .04 and was getting too much of my thyroid medication. It was cut in half. I felt okay for a while, now I am feeling the fatigue again. I get my blood checked with the most amazing nurse at our in-house clinic at work. She definitely listens. :) Haha, sometimes people go to her just so she can listen to them! Kind of a mental wellness check-up, lol

Just a random question ... are any of you guys on birth control? I'm on Depo Provera. I'm approaching 10 years on - with only one small break. I talked to my doctor about taking a break and he said that unless I'm noticing side effects, I should be fine. I'm going to talk with my nurse tomorrow and I have an OBGYN appointment next month. With research, I think the Depo may be responsible (partially, anyway) for some hair loss, acne (which I never had in high school!), weight gain, mood swings and forgetfulness.

    Hi friends

This is my second week on eatmore2weighless. My latest update is I went back to my bad habits and weighed myself on Wednesday(promised myself I would only weigh once a week) Well the good news is I was down 1.2 lbs so that is 1.5 lbs down altogether. I did step on today and was the same. Happy so far but still waiting for the gain that most people get when they start this program. Trying to get my protein in everyday buts some days I just can't do it. Just made a huge batch of turkey chili that has 26 grams of protein per serving so that should give me a nice protein boost. Well so far so good. Feeling better this week with a bit more energy and sleeping like a baby:happy:
    I will update next week.

Btw...love eating more...I feel like a normal person....I do hope this beaks my dieting cycle forever.
    Thanks for everybody's support!

    Take care!
    Xo
