thanks for the insight! I will make sure to increase the electrolytes I take in after class. I was considering using those "emergen-c" packets mixed with water to replenish after class.
I live by the Emergen-C packets! The Acai Berry flavor is the best. just sayin' :-) If you take it before or during practice, your body it will burn it instead of storing it (if you're worried about the carbs/glucose).
I found out the hard way that having a stomach full of fluids doesn't help my practice. I usually stop eating or drinking 2 hours before start of class.0 -
I start the challenge today! I'll keep you posted on how it goes!0

How are you guys doing? Just curious.
I'm on day 46 now, had a rough patch the past week, lots of things releasing, suddenly really deep back bends.0 -
Today was day #8. so far I'm doing well...the first few classes were difficult because I had taken a few days off. I was also extremely sore in my neck and back for the first five classes, but now that seems to be improving. I'm trying to make sure that I keep my spine aligned throughout class. I'll keep you posted!0

Did anyone notice a significant weight loss during the 30 day challenge? I have been sticking to my calories here on MFP (and eating back some of my exercise calories) and have definitely noticed a weight loss. I'm hoping to tone up, I'm leaving for Mexico March 15th, two days after my challenge ends. I'm hoping to look extra toned in my bikini!0

Tomorrow is day #15 and I completed my first double tonight. I'm proud of myself one thing I have noticed though...my stomach has been upset lately, like really heavy feeling and bloated. Anyone else experience this? My husband suggested that I need more electrolytes...just wondering if you have any suggestions.0

I've noticed that digestion changes with Bikram yoga, and my eating patterns have changed too: less starch, more vegetables, proteins: I didn't make these changes (very) consciously, but I think I started matching what I eat to support what my body is doing. So, yes, I did have issues with that, but not so much anymore.
I missed one day, because we buried a very good friend of mine, so I'm going to do a double to catch up.0 -
Hi I started a 10 day challenge which I have completed. Now I want to see how far I can go so am focused on a 30 day challenge. Today is day 19. I set myself 5 day mini goals along the way. It helps that I am on holidays at present & can commit to my goal without work demands on my time. I feel my body is changing from the inside out. I feel more relaxed & centred.
Congratulations to all who have set their challenges & attained them. A lady at the yoga studio I attend completed a 365 day challenge today. Amazing!0 -
Today I completed my 30 day challenge & am pleased with myself. I certainly notice a difference in my body, I feel more toned & I have lost weight. I will see how many days I can go. The daily practice has helped me tune into my body & acknowledge where I'm at on the day. I feel relaxed & happy.0

Congrats on finishing your challenge, that's awesome!!! You must feel great! Good for you that you lost weight too, I'm definitely seeing toning as well, especially in my arms, back and legs.
I'm doing a double tonight, which will be classes 26 and 27 and then I will have my 30th class on Monday! Although I definitely liked the challenge, I'm looking forward to having a day or two to myself finally. I will still try to go at least five times a week, but I really had to move my days around to get to the yoga studio every single day.0 -
