Thought I'd go crazy and start the thread for once!

I am just counting down the days to the weekend this week. I am in serious need of some rest! I don't know about everyone else but I am one of those people who just needs basically and entire day of downtime on the weekend to really de-stress and relax and I have not got one in about a month.

Been quiet around here, hope everyone is doing well!

    You go crazy girl!

I was feeling the same as you yesterday, with all the work, the pounds SHOULD be coming off, you know? Even despite sodium, glycogen, etc, at some point it HAS to fall off, but when???

We usually GOGOGO on the weekends, but I find the rare relaxing day at home is something to treasure, all 4 of us are happiest puttering around the house.

I couldn't run yesterday b/c I had to meet my daughter's principal at lunchtime, but I got on the treadmill last night after the kids went to bed. I don't like to run on our home treadmill though (the speed can be erratic) so I walked, but the kids kept yelling from their beds and interrupting. I got in 30 min, but I was really hoping for 45. Best laid plans!

    Well hellllloooooo!

My plan was to lift again tonight, but my legs are still so incredibly sore from the body weight matrix I did Monday, I'm going to hold off until Friday and just jog tonight to help loosen things up. I was amazed at how much easier lifting seemed Monday after 9 days off . . . I felt like I was able to lift heavier and at a more "vigorous" pace than before. All the more reason to ease back into it with the new stage . . . obviously my body REALLY needed to recharge.

Todd has a game tomorrow night and another Saturday . . . and I have the best of intentions to resume scrubbing of the deck. The pool is open, just needs a bit more water to get the filter going and swept. Having a pool sounds so great in theory, but once you realize how much time and money it takes just to keep the darn thing going, meh - the "greatness" wears off a bit.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hiya gang, hope everybody is doing ok. My plans today were shot all to hell but i managed to burn some calories in the end. My folks are in town as i said before. The plan was to go hiking today. But they couldn't figure out where they wanted to go or how they were going to get there. So we drove around for several hours. Found a train station that took us along a stretch of railway through really beautiful country. Then we got off the train and they still couldn't figure out where to go. So we just parked up and started walking. Ended up walking for almost 2 hours along a train track and over a river. Felt really good and I've agreed to do a 26 mile walk with my dad called 3 peaks. Will give me something to train for.

Anyway off to dinner now, take care guys.

That sounds pretty cool - you'll have to tell us all about it if you end up doing it!

It's something new to try you know. Right now i'm into exercising outside of the gym and we were talking about the 3 peaks walk today. Dad suggested doing the walk after my wedding with a few other members of the family. It will certainly be a challenge but one things for sure. Doing this walk a day or two after my wedding will certainly burn off any excess wedding cake. I'm going to have to research the training required to do something like this.

Wow that's quite a walk! That's a marathon distance right? I'm all for fitness outside the gym, working out is so much better if its something fun.

I've always found a new challenge to be very helpful to keep my focus. Plus i love to study what I'm new to. Yes I'm pretty sure that it's around marathon distance. (checks wikipedia) Yes it's about 300 yards shorter than the London Marathon. Having done a little research a time of 8 to 12 hours is considered the norm although the record is just over 2 and a half hours. My Father completed it once before and he has lost about 30lbs since then and improved his fitness. I'm not sure where my fitness is at in that respect or whether i can complete the walk but i'm certainly going to try. Might well need some advice as to training for the walk in advance from you guys .
