My journey

So March 25 I downloaded an app onto my iPod after reading several articles online about a running program that trains you to be a runner by using intervals. Although I never thought I would be a runner (I have used all the excuses) I decided to give it a whirl. On March 26 I completed W1D1 and thought I would die. I repeated several weeks, mainly weeks 2-4 and I went on vacation somewhere in the middle and used the hotel gym to run. I have battled through shin splints, painful runner's knee and horrible breathing techniques all the while with this looming date of June 9 hanging over my head. I am so proud to say that today is June 9 and I just ran my first official 5K race. It was a hard course with a lot of other runners to contend with and I was super nervous. I had a goal of completing the race in 35 minutes. Well even with all of the distractions, trouble breathing, and heat combined with humidity, I not only finished but I did it in 33:13 and finished 6 in my age group. I am officially a runner and for the first time I completed a goal that I never thought I could do. Philippians 4:13

That is awesome! I love hearing success stories. I just finished week 4 and I still feel like I'll never get there...0

Thanks! You will totally get there! Once you do that first 20 min run, you will so surprise yourself!0 -
