Knees feel tight!

So my knees (and ankles) are getting really stiff and tight feeling -- and it is definitely starting to slow me down in level 2. Strength and cardio-wise I feel like I could be pushing it harder -- but my joints feel like they're going to snap, so I am taking it easy in certain segments.
I do a good job of stretching my muscles throughout the day, but I don't know what to do about my joints! I'm not carrying a lot of weight, just out of shape and I don't think they're used to the impact!
Ideas?
