hi everyone,
I am new to myfitnesspal and also new to the modified paleo plan that I have begun. I completed the Midnight Mayor's Anchorage Half Marathon in 2006 and the San Francisco Nike Women's Half Marathon in 2007, both with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team-in-Training. However, since then I have not been active due to lack of energy and thyroid issues.
I decided to try to aim for my first rock-n-roll full marathon in February in my hometown, New Orleans, even though I no longer live there. I could really use your support, advice, and encouragement to get accomplish this I'm sure:flowerforyou: I also have commited to my first two-miler today!!!!

Hi! Sounds like you are off to a great start!
I think if you have run several half marathons before than you know you can do it. Running that first half and getting past that mental hurdle of "I can't run 13.1 miles!" is the biggest thing to overcome.
I haven't done a Rock N Roll half (yet!) but my Hubby did one in Vegas a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I bet the one in New Orleans would be an awesome run!0 -
welcome! I ran my first half this month and it was a Rock-n-Roll race. It was really fun - I trained hard for it, but still had a few doubts in my head on race day. Once I was in it though, with the music and so many other people running and going through the same thing, I realized quickly there was no way I would stop. I thought it was fun to do a big event like that, and now when I go out for runs around my city I often see one or two other runners wearing their RnR tee from the event, which feels like nice camaraderie.0
