Tomorrow I will start week 12 : Wow! I can't believe that I have made it this far. I have two weeks left on the program before I start round 2. I really want to finish these last two weeks strong, but I am having trouble staying motivated. I have had great success in this journey, and have lost weight and inches. I have changed my body and feel so energized and proud of what I have accomplished. In some ways I think I am suffering from the feeling that I have already achieved my goal, even though I'd really like to lose another 10 pounds.
I haven't missed one workout in these 77 days, and I am confident that I will continue to do all of my workouts for the full 90 days. I already have committed to repeating phase 2 and 3 as soon as I finish. I love these workouts, because they really have changed my body with only 30 minuted a day, and with 2 small children, 30 minutes is often all I can give. I will continue to keep the workouts as part of my daily routine even after these 90 days are finished.
Unfortunately, I have not been as dedicated to Jillian's meal plan. I have watched my nutritional/calorie intake, have tried to eat very "clean" and have lost approx. 20 pounds, but my eating is where I just can't seem to keep focused. I have been so inspired by mayday1969, who has followed the Body Revolution meal plan to a T, and has had really great success. I wish that I had been as dedicated to Jillian's meal plan as I was to her workouts.
So, in the last two weeks I am looking for support to keep focused and to finish strong. Not just in my workouts, but most importantly in my eating. I am not ready yet to go in to maintenance mode. I want to proper myself from completing this first round through JMBR to another very successful round to begin with week 14. These boards have been so valuable to me over these past 11 weeks. I can't say thanks enough for all the support so far. I am hopeful that your support can give me the push I need in these last 14 days.
THANKS!!

You have done great! As a mom with two kids myself, I know you can't always follow some perfectly prescribed eating plan - let's leave that to others lol. If you have lost weight and stuck to the exercise program religiously, then don't beat yourself up about lack of perfection in the eating department! Our goals should not be perfection, they should be about doing better every time. So on this next round of Jillian, pick one or two eating habits where you faltered a little (sweets? alcohol? party food? oh wait -that's me lol) and strive to do better with those specific things.
When I read your email, to be honest, I am hearing someone who is way, way too hard on herself. Be proud!!!0 -
Thanks!! Why is it that we are our worst critics?
Focusing on the positive can always be so hard, but I should be proud of what I have accomplished.0 -
well done for sticking with it! Sounds like you have made some amazing progress! I didn't do the meal plan either, just found it too restrictive and I like variation. You can finish this strong. Believe it!0

Yay for you an all you have accomplished! I feel like you made the best choice for you! I was lucky that this time around, I was able to do the diet plan too, but doesn't mean that ithe program won't work for anyone that didn't.
You are amazing and finishing strong will feel soo good in the end. You have had incredible results! You are my inspiration to keep going with this program!0 -
You have done so great and that motivates ME! And look at your 'guns'~ I'm impressed!
Yes, we are our own worst critics, it's hard to be perfect all the time, and we all (well most of us) backslide every now and then with eating. Old habits are hard to break. Sometimes you have to have a little of that _____________ (insert here....for me it's chocolate and ice cream). Totally depravation stinks! The diet plan just doesn't work for my family (or budget). That being said, I'm going to continue what I'm doing and eat better, at least 98% of the time~ lol!
Keep up the great work, you can do this! We're routing for you!:happy:0 -
chips, that is what would go on your lone...or peanut butter....or icecream and chocolate sauce.
I did have bits of my beloved foods...bits.0 -
Thanks again everyone!! I really think I have been suffering from the feeling that I only have a couple more weeks until this program is finished and I have this desire to have reached a destination (like my goal weight). The reality is that I have only been on this program for 10 weeks. 19 pounds in 10 weeks is right on track. Approx. 2 pounds a week. Add to this, the fact that I have gained more muscle than I have had since I was in my 20's. This is the healthy way to lose weight, and I am more confident than ever that I can maintain this program and eating (both good days and bad) for months/years to come.
I also feel like that stupid message from Myfitnesspal, when you complete your day, messes with my head. "If you eat like this every day, you'd weigh XXXX in 5 weeks." It makes me feel like I should be getting results that I am not and that I would be at my goal weight, only if I ate better everyday. Is there any way to turn that off?? It used to motivational, but not anymore.
At 43 years old, I hate that I am still bothered by that damn scale. I have a goal weight in my mind (where I think I should be), but I was 34 years old when I weighed that number. Why would I assume that is the goal weight I should have now? I am 10 years older, have had 2 babies and am now in my 40s. And those of you out there also in your 40s, you know how much harder it is to lose weight and change your body once you pass 40. Instead of an attitude adjustment, I think I need a goal adjustment!
I am going to finish this first round through the program strong and celebrate the success I have had; the changes I've seen in my body; and the strength I've gained. THANKS AGAIN ALL!!0 -
I'm 42 (and a half
). It has been hard to lose. It's a real commitment for me, which I hope will come more natural over time. You are right to celebrate your successes! 2 pounds a week is fantastic! And remember, you didn't gain all your weight in 10 weeks. I have had years of abuse on my poor old body. I'm surprised I was not heavier than I was! But once I hit the 40's, that is when the weight started to really creep up!
BTW I love your pic there<---- I want my arms to look like yours, I still have the hangy down under flab that I cannot seem to get rid of!0 -
I'm 45 and have noticed the past couple of years the weight creeping up. I lost 6 stress pounds during my student teaching in December, then the holidays hit and I gained it all back plus some. Enough is enough!
I remember hearing that as you age you gain about a pound a year naturally. I'm not willing to accept that! I also have a certain goal weight in mind and wonder if that's being realistic, but I'm going to try! The important thing is we're getting healthy:happy:
I also hate that "if everyday were like today, you'd weigh xxx in 5 weeks"......REALLY?! Would love to disable that thing. And the "you are eating too few calories" is another peeve. I pretty much always hit my goal, but if I'm under because of exercise, well, for me that's a victory.0
