    Ugh... So, I'm just going to vent for a second. I didn't post my update last week because I was out of town for a funeral. Grief leads to wine, and wine leads to more wine... And on top of that... there were cookies. And massive plates of delicious pasta. And brownies. And beer. And more delicious food. I think I did pretty well with control and making good choices (except for wine. Wine was a necessity...) and I was expecting a gain. It wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, but it wasn't great. And now, I'm stuck. I'm trying really hard not to get discouraged, but it really sucks when I'm working my *kitten* off and my *kitten* remains the same. I don't think I'm going to hit a 7 pound loss this month. :( But, regardless, I will keep watching what I eat. And I will continue to exercise everyday. The weight WILL come off. I'm not quitting, but I really needed to get that off my chest...

    ** That's the kind of situation ''cheat days'' are good for!
    My wife's niece unexpectedly died three months ago. We went out of town for the funeral. I tried very hard to stick to my normal eating habits, but away from home in a stressful situation doesn't lend itself very well to that,
    Now you're back home. You can get back into the swing of things & treat yourself kindly.
    Remember, many people plan on having one cheat day per week. I'm too hard-assed and impatient to get to a healthy weight for that. Giving yourself ''wiggle room'', every so often, shows self-trust and self-confidence.

    Whoo, a wonderful week! I'm dumbfounded how I lost a pound and a half, there was a little more ice cream and fries than I had anticipated. I was careful to eat all my treats in moderation though and stick close to my calorie goals. Still, I expected a pound at best so fantastic news. 4 pounds down for the month, if I can make it to 5 I'll be happy as a clam. Only a week and a few days away from being with family again, they're going to be shocked to see me ~35 pounds down since last visit!

    Haven't been weighing myself because of that time and such, bloated. But I weighed today anyway just so I didn't skip a week. Working tomorrow at the gym and then the rest of this week is my rest week. I expect a lot of water weight to drop :)

    Something has gone horribly wrong LOL. I gained instead of losing. I blame it on the cupcakes at the Pride Picnic. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

    Thanks. I appreciate it. I know I'm just being hard on myself... I'm a bit impatient to see myself healthy too, but relaxing and trusting myself and my body is important. The bottom line is, even when the scale isn't reflecting the numbers that I want to see, I feel better. I feel healthier everyday and can feel myself getting stronger. That confidence is worth all my effort. :)

    So far for July I've lost

    4kg = 8.81lb

    Quietly hopeful that I can make it to 10lb which is now my monthly target.

    29 July 178.8 (-1.0 lb) = - 5 lbs total

    I'm up for an August challenge. As I said from the beginning, 7 lbs wasn't necessarily a realistic number for me, but it's been good to track my progress over the course of one month.
