New and trying to figure it out
I had a thyroidectomy in 10/2013 and ended up in a coma from complications. My parathyroid glands finally "woke up" a few months later. In the past year I have gained almost 100 pounds. My meds for my thyroid have my levels in the high end of normal. Now I am trying to lose weight. I am very discouraged at this time. It…
Introduction
Hi everyone. My name is Summer. I'm back on the site after a long vacation. Not really a vacation, rather too ashamed and discouraged to communicate with successful people. However, I have renewed vigor and hope to see some great results. I'm middle-aged and ready to encouraged and be encouraged by others.

Need help and encouragement. Would love to have a diet buddy for this journey.

New to the group
Just stopping by to say hello. I've been on thyroid medication for about 16 years and over that time I have gained weight, more weight and more weight. Its time to take control which is not always easy with hypo-thyroid but I am determined to finally make some headway in this struggle. You would think I would have it all…
Would like to start a "poor mans" weight loss tip list
I would love to be the first to add to this list but I don't have any tips. If anyone else has some please add. If your like me and on a tight budge and cannot afford gym w/ a personal trainer 1hr 5xs per week, a weight loss doctor, a masseuse and a nutritionist this might be helpful for a lot of us.
Has anyone taken raw thyroid hormones? Not synthetic
I'm thinking of taking raw thyroid hormones. My use of synthroid or levothyroxine has not worked for me. I would appreciate any advice on what type of meds to take. I'm constantly tired drained. I've had hypothyroid for about 12 years now
Tips for successful weight loss
Hello! I'm new to the group. I've been taking meds for 10yrs and I have gained about 10lbs per year for a whopping 100lbs that I did not need to have extra! I really decided to focus this year (march 2013) and I've lost 48lbs so far. At the beginning it was slow...so very slow...maybe -1lb per week now I am avg about -3lbs…
New and curious
Hi I'm new to the group and wanted to share my story and ask a few questions. I'm a 23 year old girl from Iceland, a student. I was diagnosed recently with thyroiditis resulting in hypothyroidism. It started in November last year with swelling of glands and muscles in the face and neck, headaches (mostly in the face) and…
