  • I consistently eat around 600 calories a day, but even then I will still find myself hitting a plateau for a couple weeks. The spike days are usually 2,000 calories, 500 over my BMR, and then I resume my normal eating schedule. After a day or so, I'll start shedding weight again. This is a very common thing.
  • I'm so glad someone actually does their homework. If we injected that ratio of ANYTHING into our bodies, of course we'd develop cancers and illnesses.
  • The wording was poor, but it isn't an entirely incorrect statement. Including a spike day/week has aided many people I know with breaking a plateau, including myself.
  • Of course it's not safe. You'll become deficient in nutrients and over time your body will show signs of malnutrition - hair falling out, lethargy, cracked and dry skin, eventual organ failure, etc. I mean, I'm not going to say eating 500 - 1,000 calories doesn't work. Of course it does, that's why gastric surgeries work…
