  • I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned but for those who don’t like the added excersise calories you can also google a tdee calculator and change your calorie amount in MFP and aim to eat that amount every day. It’s just the way MFP works to eat back excersise cals. This is what I did when I first started then over time was…
  • Today is my “refeed” day so higher cal than normal. Breakfast- overnight oats with protein powder, yoghurt, dried fruit, nuts and berries. Lunch- ekziel bread with peanut butter and honey Dinner- trout with rice, roast pumpkin, eggplant, spinach, relish and cottage cheese Snack- apple
  • I can see people who are trying to lose weight buying these and assuming they are a “healthy” snack although it may put them over their calories and then wondering why they aren’t losing weight. I think this true for a lot of nutritious foods.
  • Lunch is my lowest calorie meal because I like to eat a bigger breakfast and dinner with no snacks. It’s usually 300-400 calories. Today I made roasted capsicum, eggplant, cabbage, red onion and pumpkin with a can of tuna, avocado and cottage cheese
  • I have never been overweight or really had a problem with over eating. I lost my job due to covid 19 which was fairly active and am now at home all day and am finding I’m getting so hungry during the day! When I was working I would just get a small 20 minute break in the day and was never really hungry and was moving…
  • For many people to get to low enough in body fat to have a six pack would require sticking to a strict deficit, it doesn’t matter what you eat as long as you stick to it and of course train your muscles and eat adequate protein. The reason why many people stick to “clean” foods when doing this is that lower calorie and…
  • Breakfast- overnight oats with protein powder, chia seeds, hemp seeds, lsa, cacao, yoghurt and honey Lunch - sweet potato, broccoli, sauerkraut, canned mackerel Dinner - chicken curry with rice, pumpkin, spinach and random veggies Snack - apple Total about 1900 cals It’s my first day in isolation after losing my job…
  • Curious what exactly do people mean when they say it has “reduced inflammation”?
  • Oven, food scale, glass containers (plus loads of fresh and frozen veggies!)
  • I find regular pasta doesn’t fill me up at all unfortunately so I don’t eat it much, I’d rather use the cals on protein and veggies and get to eat more volume. I do find beans filling so this could be something I would consider but to be honest would probably rather just eat the beans and not spend money on expensive faux…
  • I’m not the previous poster but I would really like to know how to do this on iPhone!
  • The never be hungry part was not true for me when I tried keto. I found it impossible to stick to my target calories because of the tiny portions as fat is so much higher in cals than carbs and protein. I was already small and my target cals were 1500-1700 though so it may be easier for larger people with more to lose. I…
  • I do this as well, weigh before and after exercise, and am always down about 0.3 kg (about 1/2 a pound) after. I assume it’s sweat
  • I would make sensible choices when you eat out ie lean meats and vegetables and only have small portions of caloric dense foods. Guesstimate a log in your diary and monitor your weight loss. If you stop losing you’ll know your consuming more than you think and will need to cut back
  • Oh sorry I didn’t see the part where you said “no” calorie counting, I’m sure there is people who track on there, but it’s a good subreddit nonetheless!
  • I really like xxfitness on reddit, it’s mainly fitness related but there is lots of good discussion on health and nutrition as well!
  • Bacon is the only food I weigh once cooked. I just look up what type it is on nutrition data and log the cooked entry
  • You should check out RealSelf. Lots of good info and you can ask plastic surgeons any questions
  • I’ve been using a homemade entry I found in the data base for around 100 cal a cup, but that is probably a little high as I skim off all the fat once it cools. I have also seen this brand…
  • I just put the butter on the scale, tare it, cut some off and log the negative amount. I do this with items such as peanut butter and other spreads as well, it’s the most accurate
  • Curious how you got onto MFP if your doctor advised Keto? Is it just to track your macros or do you track both calories and macros?
  • I agree that fad diets are usually a bad idea, people who follow them usually end up yo-yo ing and can often be harmful. In saying that not everyone wants to count calories. Using mfp has been super helpful for me and I find entering data to be useful and interesting and loads of others feel the same way, but for some…
  • Today has been: Breakfast- sweet Potato, onion, peas corn and capsicum (omelette) Lunch- spinach, zucchini, tomato, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin Dinner- spinach, carrots, pumpkin, onion, celery, garlic Snack- apple I love these threads because it goes to show how people who track still eat lots of nutritious food and you…
  • I have had low iron in the past so I try to keep an eye on this one too. I do eat red meat regularly now but also lots of spinach and greens and kidney beans. I do eat iron fortified cereal too but I have heard that using milk prevents the absorption of iron, does anyone know how true this is?
  • Has anyone got any high volume breakfast recipes? I love this thread BTW I’m a huge volume eater!
  • I also tend to eat a lot of chicken breast when on a cut as I find higher protein foods more satiating and it’s got great macros. There has been loads of great recipe ideas already mentioned I just wanted to add that brining in salt water is a great technique for tender chicken breasts, I don’t cook chicken breast anymore…
  • There is a good sub reddit called 1500isplenty if you want to google
  • I have been seeing so many woos on this site lately! I feel like some people just don’t know what it means? I think it would be simpler if it was I just “dislike” or “disagree” because I’ve seen lots of good and insightful posts getting wooed.
  • Also don’t cheat as I always stay within my calories, I do have higher calorie days though which usually includes a good burger and ice cream. I also like pizza and Thai food
